In order to acquire high-speed and high-precision performances in servomechanisms, an integrated design method have been proposed. Based on strict mathematical modeling and analysis of system performance according to design and operating parameters, a nonlinear constrained optimization problem including the relevant subsystem parameters of the servomechanism is formulated. Optimum design results of mechanical and electrical parameters are obtained according to the design parameters specified by designers through the integrated design processes. Motors are optimally selected from the servo motor database. Both the geometric errors referring to Abbe offset and the contour errors are minimized while required constraints such as stability conditions and saturated conditions are satisfied. This design methodology both offers the improved possibility to evaluate and optimize the dynamic motion performance of the servomechanism and improves the quality of the design process to achieve the required performance for high-speed/precision servomechanisms.
마이크로 엔드밀링 공정의 절삭계수 모델링 및 최적 공정설계

Micro end-milling process is applied to fabricate precision mechanical parts cost-effectively. It is a complex and time-consuming job to select optimal process conditions with high productivity and quality. To improve the productivity and quality of precision mechanical parts, micro end-mill wear and cutting force characteristics should be studied carefully. In this paper, high speed machining experiments are studied to construct the optimum process design as well as the mathematical modeling of tool wear and cutting force related to cutting parameters in micro ball end-milling processes. Cutting force and wear characteristics under various cutting conditions are investigated through the condition monitoring system and the design of experiment. In order to construct the cutting database, mathematical models for the flank wear and cutting force gradient are derived from the response surface method. Optimal milling conditions are extracted from the developed experimental models.

This paper describes motion errors due to acceleration and deceleration types of servo motors in NC machine tools. Motion errors are composed of two components : one is due to transient response of a servomechanism and the other comes from gain mismatching of positioning servo motors. It deals with circular interpolation to identify motion errors by using Interface card. Also in order to minimize motion errors, this study presents an effective method to optimize parameters which are connected with motion errors. The proposed method is based upon a second order polynomial regression model and it includes an orthogonal array method to make the effective results of experiments. The validity and reliability of the study were verified on a vertical machining center equipped with FANUC 0MC through a series of experiments and analysis.
