본 연구에서는 농사속담 속 비[雨]에 대한 인식과 예측을 살펴보았다. 전통사회에서 동사는 생업이기 때문에 일기(日氣)를 미리 추정하는 것은 매우 중요한 작업이다. 특히 농업용수의 확보는 농사의 풍흉을 좌우할 정도로 중요한 일이었다. 전통사회는 수리시설이 잘 갖추어지지 않았기 때문에 비가 내려야 농사짓기가 가능하기 때문이다. 그러므로 비에 대한 관심과 앎의 욕구는 일상생활 속에서 자연스럽게 나타나며, 이러한 인식은 농사속담에서 찾을 수 있다. 비와 관련한 농사속담은 다양한 내용을 담고 있다. 농사를 짓기 위해서는 적당한 시기에, 적당 양의 비가 내려야 한다. 그러므로 농작물의 성장 시기에 맞게 내리는 비는 이로운 비가 되지만 수정이나 생육, 추수 등에 내리는 비는 농사를 망칠 수 있기 때문에 해로운 비다. 이러한 생각이나 인식은 농사 절기와 다양한 농작물의 풍흉과 관련한 속담으로 표출되고 있다. 또한 사람들은 농업용수가 중요하기 때문에 비오기 전에 동·식물의 행동이나 생태 변화, 사람들의 행태, 감각에 의한 자연 현상변화 등 다양한 상황을 관찰하였다. 이러한 현상을 잘 관찰하는 것은 농사와 관계가 깊다. 전통사회에서 농사를 주업으로 삼았던 사람들에게는 정확한 일기변화에 대한 예측을 위해서 다양한 현상을 관찰하였고 이것이 비관련 농사속담 속에 내포되어 있다. 비록 농사속담이 예전처럼 활용되고 있지는 않지만, 오랜 세월 속에서 변화 발전해 왔고, 계절별, 단계별 농사모습이 투영되어 있으며 그것은 생활 속에서 얻어진 생활과학이며, 지혜의 총체라 하겠다. In this study, we examined the perception and prediction of rain in the agricultural proverbs. Since agriculture is a livelihood in traditional societies, it is very important to estimate the diary in advance. In particular, securing agricultural water was so important that it affected the morale of agriculture. This is because traditional societies do not have repair facilities, so agricultural construction is possible if it does not rain. Therefore, the interest in rain and the desire for knowledge naturally appear in our daily lives, and such perceptions can be found in agricultural proverbs. Agricultural proverbs about rain contain a variety of content. In order to build agriculture, it must rain at the right time and at the right time. Therefore, rain that falls according to the growing season of crops is advantageous rain, but rain that falls on crystals, growth, harvesting, etc. is harmful because it can ruin agriculture if it is mistaken. Such thoughts and perceptions are expressed as sayings related to the agricultural season and breast augmentation of various crops. In addition, because agricultural water is important for people, before it rained, we observed various situations such as the behavior and ecological changes of eastern plants, people’s behavior, and changes in natural phenomena due to sensations. Observing these phenomena closely is closely related to agriculture. For people whose main business is agriculture in traditional societies, various phenomena are observed for accurate prediction of diary changes, which are contained in unrelated agricultural proverbs. The unrelated agricultural proverb is not used as it used to be, but it has changed and developed over the years, and seasonal and staged farmer figures are projected, which is the life science gained in life. There is, it is called the whole of wisdom.
