이 글은 위대한 두 사상가 화이트헤드의 철학과 켄 윌버의 아이디어를 접속시켜 보다 새로운 창조적인 결과물들을 얻어내고자 연구한 글이다. 먼저 이 글은 화이트헤드와 윌버 사상의 성격에 대해 소개한다. 화이트헤드의 철학 사상은 독단적 완결이 아닌 우리의 모든 경험의 요소들을 해석해내기 위한 합리주의적 시도로서의 학문이다. 그의 새로운 형이상학적 체계는 철저히 경험론에 헌신하고 있는 철학이며, 또한 놀랍게도 새로운 유신론 사상에 속하고 있다. 윌버의 사상은 초기에 트랜스퍼스널 심리학 진영에서 활동했었다. 그러다가 후기로 갈수록 모든 것을 해석해내려는 통합 사상가로서의 면모를 보여주었다. 이러한 윌버 사상은 초기 때부터 화이트헤드의 영향을 받은 흔적들이 있긴 했으나 후기로 갈수록 화이트헤드에 대해서 몇 가지를 비판함으로써 다소 다른 차이를 보여주었다. 이때 본 논문은 화이트헤드에 대한 윌버의 비판이 다소 성급한 것이었으며, 오히려 윌버의 사상한이야말로 몇 가지 결함과 불충분성을 지니고 있음을 보여주고 있다. 그리고 이것은 본인의 GIO사상한의 제시와도 맞물려 있다. 즉, 본인은 GIO사상한을 통해 윌버 사상의 불충분성을 보여주고자 한 것이었다. GIO사상한은 진화하는 모든 존재에 적용될 수있는 일종의 통합 지도 같은 것으로서, 이미 기존의 윌버 사상한이 있긴 하지만, 본 논문에선 윌버 사상한을 보다 비판적으로 극복한 새로운 사상한을 제시하였다. 이러한 본인의 GIO사상한은 화이트헤드와 윌버를 결합시켜 나온 것이다. 본 논문은 GIO사상한과 기존의 윌버 사상한과의 비교를 통해 오히려 윌버 사상에 대한 비판적 고찰을 의도하고 있다. This thesis connects two great philosophers, whitehead and Ken Wilber`s ideas to get better results. First, this thesis introduces Whitehead and Wilber`s philosophies and their characteristics. Whitehead`s philosophy is not dogmatic one but a reasonable trial to interpret elements of our experiences. Whitehead`s new metaphysical system is totally based on empiricism and surprisingly, his thought belongs to new theism. Ken Wilber`s early activity belongs to Transpersonal Psychology but Ken Wilber became integrated thinker who tries to interpret everything in his latter stage. This Wilber`s thought reflects Whitehead`s philosophy in his early stage but Wilber criticized Whitehead`s thought in some aspects in his latter stage, thereby showing the difference than Whitehead. This thesis comes to conclusion that Wilber`s criticism of Whitehead`s philosophy is somewhat hasty and also Wilber`s thought has some defects and insufficiency. And this is related to GIO-quadrants(GIO means "God-I-Ohters"). That is, I am going toshow you insufficiency of Wilber though GIO-quadrants. GIO-quadrants is kind of integrated map which can be applied to every evolving being. Although this belongs to Wilber`s quadrants, I suggest new quadrants which criticizes and overcomes Wilber`s quadrants. GIO-quadrants results from the combination of Whitehead and Ken Wilber. I carry out critical study on Wilber`s philosophy by comparing GIO-quadrants and Wilber`s quadrants.
