방송프로그램 품질평가지수에 관한 비교 연구 -KBS의 품질평가지수, MBC의 QI, SBS의 ASI를 중심으로-

This study analyses the relationship between the program quality indexes of each broadcasters, the relationship between the results of program quality assessment and program ratings, and the difference between the results of program quality assessment of each TV channels. The effect of program types on the results of assessment is also examined. The Quality Index of KBS, the Quality Index of MBC, and the Audience Satisfaction Index of SBS have very meaningful correlation, and higher correlation is indicated in index for entertainment programs. It shows that program ratings and the Quality Indexes of KBS and MBC don`t have statistically significant correlation whereas the Audience Satisfaction Index of SBS has very positive correlation with program ratings especially in case of entertainment programs. The Quality Indexes of KBS and MBC have statistically meaningful difference depending on TV channels, but it is analysed that there is much bigger difference, depending on program types, in the Quality Indexes of KBS and MBC. These results mean that the outcomes of each broadcaster`s program quality assessment are quite similar in spite of its different survey questions and especially the outcomes for entertainment programs are much more similar. In addition, the relation of program ratings to the program quality assessment tends to be different according to program types and broadcasters conducting research. If the rating of an entertainment program is high, it is possible that program quality assessment has greater possibility of showing better result.

Delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) is a painful condition that arises from exercise-induced muscle damage after unaccustomed physical activities. Various therapeutic interventions have been applied to reduce the intensity and duration of DOMS-related symptoms. Recently, pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) intervention has been introduced as an alternative noninvasive treatment for DOMS. This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled experiment was conducted to examine the effects of PEMF therapy on DOMS in elbow flexors at 24, 48, and 72 hours after the experimental DOMS induction. Thirty healthy volunteers (23±2.4 yrs, 175±5.7 ㎝, and 74±7.8 ㎏) participated in this study. Each was randomly assigned to a PEMF or placebo group. On the first day, DOMS was induced in the elbow flexors by repeated isokinetic motions at low (60 °/s) and fast (120 °/s) speeds in all subjects. Thereafter, the PEMF group received 15-min daily treatment with a PEMF device. The placebo group received sham treatment of the same duration. Overall, PEMF application was more effective than the sham treatment in reducing the physiological symptoms associated with the DOMS including perceived soreness, median frequency, and electromechanical delay of the surface electromyography. In addition, median frequency and isokinetic peak torque of the PEMF group recovered to the pre-DOMS induction level earlier than the placebo group. In conclusion, this study suggests that PEMF can be applied as a new recovery strategy in reducing DOMS symptoms. Further experiments are required to examine the effect of the PEMF treatment on different types of exercise conditions and to determine the optimal treatment dosage and duration in a real clinical setting.
젊은성인 엄지발가락가쪽휨증의 발허리발가락관절 각도와 엄지벌림근의 관계

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate relationship between the angle of the first metatarsophalangeal joint (1st MPJ) and the dimensions of the abductor hallucis; dorso-plantar (DP) thickness, medio-lateral (ML) width, and cross-sectional area (CSA), in subjects with and without hallux valgus. Methods: Sixty feet, mean (SD) age of 22.5 (2.1) years old, were included in this study (hallux valgus = 30; control = 30). An X-ray device was used for measurement of the angle of the 1st MPJ, and an ultrasound system was used for determination of mean (SD) DP thickness, ML width, and CSA of the abductor hallucis muscle in each foot from three trials. Results: The results showed the DP thickness, ML width, and CSA of the abductor hallucis did not differ significantly between subjects with and without hallux valgus. In addition, the correlations between the angle of the 1st MPJ and DP thickness, ML width, and CSA of the abductor hallucis showed poor correlation (Pearson r=-0.09, -0.20, and -0.18, respectively). Conclusion: Based on these findings, we speculate that morphological changes to the abductor hallucis muscle cannot be representative of the angle of the 1st MPJ, and also cannot be used in differentiation between subjects with and without hallux valgus.
