Objective: The purpose of this study is to compare the health status of residents who were exposed to sources of extremely low frequency electromagnetic fields (ELF-EMFs) in the living environment and those who were not exposed to such a source of ELF-EMFs through a survey designed to appraise the residents' health levels. Method: Aimed at 251 residents exposed to a source of ELF-EMFs and 278 residents not exposed to a source, the survey was conducted to investigate the health status of the residents on the basis of questionnaire SF-36. Result: The health status scores of residents exposed to ELF-EMFs turned out to be lower than those of their counterparts. In terms of self-reported symptoms related to health and sleep quality, residents exposed to ELF-EMFs were found to have a higher complaint rate of self-reported symptoms such as dizziness, depression, and fatigue. Regarding sleep disorders, residents exposed to ELF-EMFs appeared to have a slightly higher complaint rate of sleep disorders compared to non-exposed residents. Conclusion: If a region is to be exposed to a source of ELF-EMFs, a more proactive policy for reducing such exposure is advised. In addition, it is necessary to better understand problems of residents by emplacing an ELF-EMFs risk information delivery system and building an efficient communication system for voluntary participation during the construction phase.
겨울철 가정의 에너지 사용량과 실내환경 인자의 상관성에 관한 조사

The purpose of this study were to investigate the state of indoor environmental factors and energy consumption during winter in residential houses and to analyze factors which influenced this environment. Energy consumptions and indoor environmental factors of this survey were conducted in 21 houses(apartment; 11 and detached houses;10) between December, 2010 and February, 2011 which measured energy consumptions and indoor environmental factors as well as kept records of interviews with residents and other related factors. The results obtained were as follows. Indoor environmental factors which were found to influence apartment houses higher than detached houses. The average gas consumption of detached houses(90.98㎥) was higher than that of apartment houses(76.33㎥). Gas consumption showed positive correlations to temperature and carbon dioxide in the residential houses. The mean concentration of PM₁₀, and CO₂ in large family were higher than those of small family. We found that the more gas consumption, the higher concentration of PM₁₀, CO₂ and temperature(p<0.01).

There are many parts which consist of various materials on the back side of headliner such as Wire, PE-PAD, FMH LIB, Clip. Etc. For this reason, many kinds of adhesives are applied on the back side of headliner. The different VOC’s emissions are caused by the respective adhesives and parts. This study shows the results of VOC’s emissions from many kinds of adhesives applied to various parts which consist of diverse materials on the the back side of headliner measured by simplified measurement with TVOC meter and the improvement of VOCs emissions from test specimens by manufacturing in production line with alternative adhesives
실험적으로 구한 MR 댐퍼의 개선된 Bouc-Wen 모델을 이용한 자동차 서스펜션 제어

This paper presents the modelling of an MR damper system through extensive experimental studies. The hysteresis of the MR damper is modelled by using the improved Bouc-wen model. A test bed for experimental studies of measuring parameters of the MR damper is designed and implemented. Based on the experimental data, the Bouc-Wen Model is modified for the MR damper system. To check the modelling property, a vehicle suspension system is controlled using a PID controller for the verification of the MR damper model.
마이크로 유체 원심분리기의 챔버 크기에 따른 회전 유동 가시화

This paper introduces a new parameter to design the 2×2 microfluidic centrifuge with single flow rotation positioned at the center of microchamber. The dimensional centrifugal acceleration momentum flux which is defined as the interfacial momentum flux divided by distance from the center of the chamber explains the flow rotation and its threshold provides a reference to expect single flow rotation. Through the numerical and experimental visualization of the flow rotation, the number and position of flow rotation in the 2×2 microfluidic centrifuge were examined. At a channel width of 50 μm and chamber width of 250 μm, single flow rotation was obtained over at a Reynolds number of 300, while at a channel width of 100 μm and chamber width of 500 μm, single flow rotation did not appear. The numerical analysis showed that the threshold centrifugal acceleration momentum flux to obtain single flow rotation was 3500 kg/m·s<SUP>2</SUP>.
MR 댐퍼를 이용한 장애인의 무릎관절 보조 장치 설계 및 실험

In this paper, an assistive device for a knee joint to help a disabled person to stand up by supporting power is presented. The device is designed and controlled by using damping characteristics of the MR (Magneto-Rheological) damper. The MR damper helps the person to sit slowly and safely. A DC motor supports muscle power in the case of standing motion. Thus the device helps the disabled person to sit down and stand up. Through the experiments, it is feasible that an assistive device can help the disabled person to standup according to the foot pressure change.
