The numerical simulations of Bundang District Heat Acculator were conducted by using simulation program, Fluent 5. At the review of the simulation results, thin thermocline and sharp thermal stratification were obtained near the pressure outlet diffuser, and they were in the close agreement with the practical experimental data investigated by the AIR-IX Consulting Engineers Co.. Therefore, the simulation program, Fluent 5 will be very much of benefit to the time savings in the verification of the experimental data employed by the scale or full scale model tests and the theoretical predictions on the thermally stratified storage tank.
히트파이프를 이용한 자동차 공조용 열교환기 통합에 관한 실험적 연구

For an experimental setup, a copper-water heat pipe were used and the heat pipe was divided in three sections. An one end section was used as an evaporator and 2℃ cool water was circulated. The other end section was used as a heater core. The middle section was used as an air passage and air may be cooled or heated. For the various air flow rates, the inlet and outlet temperatures of air and cool water were measured and total heat balances were checked.<br/> The test results show that the differences between the inlet and outlet temperatures of the air and also those for the water were very small. It may recommend that in this experimental conditions water be used instead of air to have enough temperature difference. When the air flow rate is increased, the heat transfer rate also is increased. Much more study may be needed to verify the feasibility of using the heat pipe heat exchanger.
