아동 및 청소년기에 경험한 정서적 학대가 초기 성인기의 신체화 증상에 미치는 영향: 정서 인식의 어려움과 신체 귀인의 매개 효과

본 연구는 아동기에 경험한 정서적 학대와 초기 성인기의 신체화 증상 간의 관계에서 정서 인식과 신체 귀인의 작용 기제를 통합적으로 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 초기 성인기 연령에 해당하는 345명을 대상으로 정서적 학대 척도, 감정표현 불능증 척도, 증상 해석 질문지, 신체화 증상 척도를 실시한 뒤 구조 방정식 모형을 검증하였다. 분석 결과, 아동기의 정서적 학대는 정서 인식의 어려움과 신체 귀인을 각각 매개하여 신체화 증상에 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하였다. 그리고 정서 인식의 어려움과 신체 귀인의 순차적 이중 매개 효과도 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 아동기의 정서적 학대 경험과 초기 성인기의 신체화 증상 간 간접 경로를 검증하였다는 점에서 중요한 의의를 지닌다. 또한, 본 연구는 정서 자각 수준 모델에 기반하여 신체화 증상에 대한 개념적 이해를 넓혔다는 점에서도 의의가 있다. The present study aimed to examine the effect of childhood emotional abuse on somatization in early adulthood and investigate the integrated model on emotional awareness and somatic attribution. The study sample consisted of 345 young adults and they completed the Korean Emotional Abuse Scale, Toronto Alexithymia Scale, Symptom Interpretation Questionnaire, and Somatic Symptom Scale. After Structural Equation Modeling, the results of this study showed that difficulty with emotional awareness and somatic attribution mediated the effects between childhood emotional abuse and somatization in early adulthood, respectively. In addition, results showed that difficulty in emotional awareness sequentially mediated the effect of somatic attribution. Findings of this study could have important implications, as it verifies the indirect pathway between emotional abuse and somatization symptoms. This study could also broaden the current conceptualization of the emotional awareness model in explaining somatization.
