Building Information Modeling (BIM) has been adopted in variety domain of construction industry. In this circumstances, interest of BIM model quality has been increased. In many countries, automated building code checking system by Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) has been developed and studied to use web based building permission systems. IFC is international standard of BIM format. However, the data structure of IFC does not include all of objects and properties about national building codes. In this paper, we developed the information specification between IFC data structure and national building code to increase interoperability. First, we drew the criteria from literature review to analyze the building code. And then, we analyzed building code and sorted objects and properties for automated building code checking. After that we made mapping table between the sorted data and IFC specification. Using the mapping table, we developed pre-specification about building codes information that does not exist in IFC specification. And the defined information can be used to develop the BIM modeling guide and national building permission system. The pre-specification support increasing the interoperability between user and automated building code checking system. Increasing thee interoperability makes improvement accuracy and reliability about result of automated building code checking.

Recently, the processes of construction project have been increased using Building Information Model (BIM), because that the buildings have been changed bigger and more complex. However, laws and institutions about quality check (QC) of BIM modeling are weak nationally. This paper is to suggest about the automatic QC of BIM modeling for increase about architecture design quality. First of all, we studied about another papers and cases about QC of BIM modeling by projects. By this result, we deducted requirements for automatic process about QC of BIM modeling. And then we analyzed the laws and institutions about architecture and confirmed scope of study. Proposing about development of an automated system of quality check of BIM modeling in this study is proceed into 5 categories. First suggestion is the development of modeling guidelines and metrics of evaluation about architecture design quality level. Second is programming the logic and structured of domestic laws and establishments. The third is technical development about automatic evaluation of the quality and practical utilization by the design according to the purposes. The fourth is program development that automatically validate design quality by open BIM. The last is development the quality certification system by open BIM and load to Seumter (Architectural administration system).
건축인허가 법규자동검토를 위한 BIM 정보 관리 방안 연구

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is regarded as one of the best solutions to management and application of various building information because the importance of management and application about information has come to the fore in construction industry. A lots of countries are trying to apply BIM model for building permission process because BIM model is comprised of comprehensive information about whole construction process. Various researches and studies about automated building code checking system have proved the result of benefit about usage of BIM model in building permission process. In most cases, the systems have used Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) format for building permission process because IFC is international standard open BIM format. However, the IFC schema cannot be directly used to get the various building code information in most countries, moreover the usage and modeling guidelines of IFC schema to check building code are not existing yet. This issues cause interoperability problems during BIM modeling phase and the interoperability problems raise a reliability problem about the building permission. This paper suggests the method of mapping process between IFC schema and national building code to solve that interoperability problems. Using the mapping methods, this paper built the database for correlational information and developed information management system. The developed web system improves accessibility to the information who want to model BIM for building permission and develop automated building code checking system. The system can raise the quality of BIM model and improve interoperability between BIM model and automated building code checking system. The improvement of interoperability improves reliability of building permission and it raise significantly the productivity for the construction industry.
