Purpose: The purpose of this study was to provide data for development of the Journal of Fundamentals of Nursing through reviewing classification of sectional editorship. Method: Descriptive statistical analysis was used, to identify content then, the classifications of sectional editorship were reviewed. Results: The categories, “Basic concepts of nursing” (30.2%:17.9%), “Needs for comfort” (15.9%:13.1%), “Nursing education” (12.7%:12.7%), and “Needs for activity and exercise” (7.1%:7.1%) were most frequent through both the 1st and 2nd sectional editorship. Conclusion: Classification of sectional editorship was developed to clarify the educational purpose of fundamentals of nursing, and was modified through reflections by researchers. The current classification of sectional editorship is not a permanent formula, so using various viewpoints in further examination is needed.

Purpose: In this study the present status of the practicum in Fundamentals of Nursing and test for student competency in nursing skills were surveyed. Method: Participants included 72 nursing schools. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection and SPSS 17.0 for data analysis. Results: Credits for Fundamentals of Nursing, credits for practicum and hours per credit were 2.93, 7.34, and 2.14 respectively. Number of students per practice unit, full time assistants and students per assistant were 28.6, 0.6, and 20.2 respectively. Utilization of CPX room and OSCE room for practice was 5.6%, and 9.7% respectively. Of the school, 32.0% included clinical practice in the practicum. 90.3% provided an open lab but only 48.4% had full-time assistants for these clinical practice areas. Testing for nursing skill competency was performed twice a semester in most schools. Utilization of standard patients and high fidelity models for testing was 8.3%, and 23.6% respectively. The test was thought to be inappropriate in 33.4% of the schools. Conclusions: The results suggest that to improve the outcomes, the practicum for Fundamentals of Nursing needs to be changed to include expansion of facilities and human resources, utilization of standard patients and high fidelity models and development of appropriate test methods.

The purpose of this study is to define the difference in the self-concepts between A class and B class. The data was gathered from 242 nursing students of 1st, 2nd, 3rd grade of junior college in Chung Nam from 8 to 25, March, 1994. The tool used for this study is moo's qestionaire. This questionaire is a multidimensional instrument designed to measure five aspects of self concept in William H. Fitt's self concept scale. The collected data were analysed using descriptive statistics, mean, sd, F-value, p-value, onaway ANOVA. The results were as follow: 1. The self-concept score was the highest in 2nd grade. 2. Between the grades were significant differences in behavior of self concept (F=1.04), self esteem of home (F= .54), varience of external self esteem (F= .88), total positive self esteem(F= .75) 3. The self concept score was higher B class than A class. 4. Between the classes were significant differences in self concept of physical (F= .32), social esteem (F= 05), varience of internal self esteem (F= .05), varience of internal self esteem(F= .89), total varience of self esteem(F= .16), total positive self esteem (F= 1.68)

This Study was carried out for the purpose to describe activity of hospital empoloyees. 131 nurses from 2 general hospital in Dae Jeon from October to November. 1984 were tested according to questionaire based on 5 Categories of Clinical activities ; Physical care, Treatment assistance, Observation a Recording, Psychologicale, Unit management. In psychological category, The most job sharing for explain Disease process, explain diagnostic ahead of Time, Health teaching and counselling, explain patients symptoms were "nurse" and Listening to pt. requests and complaints, provide privacy, plan recreation, Arrang for priest- minister, Talking with pt. Family were "nurse and nurses' aid". 5. In unit management category, the most job Sharing for Drug, equipment care, orderly and nurse and student teaching, guide Patient on discharge and teaching were "nurse" and deliver and Transport papers, Unit Clear and Tidy, Guide patient on Admision were nurse and nurses' aid.

This study was conducted to investigate the nutritional study and food habits according to college student in Hong Sung. For each subject, physical measured, nutrient intakes and eating habits, eating behavior that lead to man and women that the subjects were obtained by questionnaire. Data were collected to 4 weeks from March 10 to April 3 1999. Data were analyzed using ANOVA, X² test and Duncan's multiple range test. Average height, weight, BMI, abdominal obese, skin thickness of subjects in men were 168.08cm, 60.97kg, 22.35, 0.79, 17.05mm. Average height, weight, BMI, abdominal obese, skin thickness of subjects in women were 159.05cm, 53.121%, 21.52. 0.74, 31.30mm. These results suggest that nutrition program and methods for the prevention of obesity should be developed.
