광주·전남지역 목조 고건축물에 사용된 단청안료에 대한 연구

우리는 단청안료의 착색제에 대한 특성을 살펴보았고, 이번 연구가 우리 전통 단청의 색을 재현하는데 기여하길 바 란다. 광주·전남지역 목조 고건축물에서 자연적으로 박리가 일어난 부분의 단청안료 시료를 채취하고, 이를 XRD와 EDS-SEM분석을 이용하여 착색제를 분석하였다. 백색안료에서는 고대부터 착색제로 사용되어온 석고(CaSO4·2H2O), 석영(SiO2), 백연석(PbCO3) 및 호분(CaCO3)과 현대에서 많이 사용되는 산화지당(TiO2)이 모든 시료에서 확인되었다. 적색안료에서는 고대부터 착색제로 사용된 석간주(Fe2O3)와 연단(Pb3O4) 및 현대안료 착색제인 C. I. pigment orange 13(C32H24Cl2N8O2)이 확인 되었지만, 진사(cinnabar, HgS)는 관찰되지 않았다. 황색안료에서는 납을 주성분으로 하는 황연인 홍연석(PbCrO4)과 고대부터 사용된 밀타승(PbO)이 확인되었다. 청색안료에서는 착색제인 소달라이트 (Na4BeAlSi4O12Cl)와 노제안(Na8Al6Si6O24SO4)이 확인되었으며, 현대안료 착색제인 C. I. pigment blue 29(Na7Al6Si6O24S3)도 확인되었다. 녹색안료에서는 착색제로 카루머타이트(calumetite, Cu(OHCl)2·2H2O), 에스콜라이트(Cr2O3), 디크롬트리옥사이드(dichromium trioxide, Cr2O3), 에머랄드그린(C2H3As3Cu2O8) 및 현대안료 착색제인 C. I. pigment green(C32H16-XClxCu8)이 확인되었다. 흑색안료에서는 먹(송연)이 확인 되었다. We investigated characteristics of the coloring material of Dancheong pigments and hope that this study contributes the revival of traditional Dancheong pigments color. For this purpose, we collected Dancheong fragment samples that fell off naturally from old wooden buildings in Gwangju and Jeonnam and analyzed the natural coloring material by XRD and EDS-SEM analysis method. In white pigments of Dancheong fragments, it is confirmed that gypsum(CaSO4·2H2O), quartz(SiO2), white lead(PbCO3) and calcite(CaCO3) which have been used for white pigments since ancient times and TiO2 which is common used in modern times. In red pigments of Dancheong fragments, it is confirmed that hematite(Fe2O3) and red lead(Pb3O4) which have been used for red pigments since ancient times and C.I. pigment orange 13(C32H24Cl2N8O2) but there is no cinnabar(HgS) which has been used since B.C. 3000 in China. In yellow pigments of Dancheong fragments, it is confirmed that crocoite(PbCrO4) and massicot( PbO). In blue pigments of Dancheong fragments, it is confirmed that sodalite(Na4BeAlSi4O12Cl) and nosean (Na8Al6Si6O24SO4) as coloring material of blue pigment and C.I. pigments blue 29 (Na7Al6Si6O24S3) which is used in modern times. In green pigments of Dancheong fragments, it is confirmed that calumetite(Cu(OHCl)2·2H2O), escolaite(Cr2O3), dichromium trioxide(Cr2O3), emerald green(C2H3As3Cu2O8), and C.I. pigments green(C32H16-XClxCu8) which is used in modern time. In black pigments of Dancheong fragments, Chiness ink(carbon black) is confirmed.
