        Wearable technology can be divided into a type that is placed on or attached to the body, and a type in the form of clothes. First, wearable devices that are attached to the body, such as wearable bands and watches, are developing focused on performing various and complex functions that will replace mobile devices. Meanwhile, smart clothing worn on the body is developing in the direction to satisfy human physiological needs, health, and emotions. Until now, both wearable devices and smart clothing have evolved with an emphasis on functionality, ergonomics and physical aspects. However, future smart clothing design is expected to develop that satisfies immaterial properties such as human emotions and self-actualization rather than technology-oriented designs. Nevertheless, it is difficult for fashion design majors who are familiar to traditional education to use digital as a formative element rather than a device. Therefore, this study developed smart clothing through Lilypad Arduino, which can access as a design element unlike other wearable devices. A smart diaper using Lilypad Arduino, temperature sensor, light emitting diodes, and buzzer module was developed that easily check the condition. The arrangement of electronic components were designed for user convenience, and it was confirmed that the smart diaper operates well.
