In this study, I attempted to explore human nature focusing on Jeff, in director Alfred Hitchcock’s film Rear Window. It aims to propose a direction for literature and education related to desirable human view through Good Human Nature Principle. For this, the Mencius’s theory was used as the base theory. Ultimately, it is meaningful in that it seeks to explore the direction of human education to foster ethical values that can identify the essence of literature and promote desirable life attitudes. As a method, character storytelling analysis was presented and actual cases of its application were analyzed. Consequently, four ways were put forth: first, literary education focused on applied works; second, character narratives to understand life; third, writing to express one's own experiences; and fourth, exchanging literature and experiences with others to broaden one's own experience in order to foster ethical values in human outlook education. 본 연구는 앨프레드 히치콕(Alfred Hitchcock) 감독의 영화 이창의 주인공 제프를 중심으로 인간 본성에 대한 탐구를 시도하고, 성선적 인간에 대한 이해를 통해 바람직한 인간상과 관련된 문학과 그 교육의 한 방향을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 맹자의 성선설을 기저 이론으로 삼았다. 궁극적으로는 문학의 본질을 파악하고 이를 토대로 바람직한 삶의 태도를 고양하도록 할 수 있는 윤리적 가치 함양을 위한 인간관 교육의 방향을 탐구하고자 한다는 데 의의가 있다. 본 연구를 위한 방법으로인물 스토리텔링 분석의 방법을 제시하고 이를 적용한 실제 사례를 분석하였다. 그 결과 윤리적 가치함양을 위한 인간관 교육의 방향을 첫째, 실제적인 작품 중심의 문학교육, 둘째, 인물 서사를 통한 삶의 총체적인 경험 이해, 셋째, 글쓰기를 통한 개인적 경험의 표현, 넷째, 동료 학습자와의 공유를 통한문학과 경험의 외연 확장의 네 가지로 제시하였다.
