Existing pedagogical issues of digital design including BIM have been focused not on potential of Digital Design but on skills of BIM or digital modeling tool. Kinetic facade can move or change material state to react surrounding environment conditions. It is a suitable design object for teaching principle of Performance Oriented Digital Design. Variables of movements affect multi-criteria of performances of kinetic facade, so different design approach from fixed facade design should be explored. Kinetic facade design process is proposed to study pedagogical issues of Performance Oriented Digital Design in this paper. Through Kinetic facade design process, students can understand conditions, variables, and performances of digital design.
기동형 건축요소의 성능지향적 설계를 위한 물리 모델-디지털 모델간 상호연동 방법론 제안

Kinetic building components, which respond to the changing environmental conditions or user demands, need different design process from traditional static building components. For performance-oriented design of kinetic building components with dynamic movements, interwoking between the physical model and the digital model via physical computing is advantageous. Even though the digital model can control the actuators of physical model in real-time, the two models cannot correspond with each other, due to physical conditions including material properties and the surrounding environment. For accurate evaluation performance, the shape and motion of physical model needs to be reflected in the digital model. This study aimed to devise a motion-capture-based system of interworking between physical and digital models. The motion-capture data of the physical model can be used for verification of the deviation between it and digital model and, based on its shape, for optimization of Kinetic building components operation.
성능지향적 설계를 위한 디지털 모델링 교육 프로세스 제안

As a lot of programs specialized for various purposes come out, digital models are replacing the role of physical models as design media. Digital model plays a central role in the building design process, so the education of digital modeling needs to be designed considering its potential and features. Still, however, in a lot of educational environments, students are provided with focused on acquiring functions of a particular software, which makes them imitating a way of traditional modeling. As a result, students waste time and effort producing digital models of only-once nature, rigidity, and integration, which are opposed to the main features of the digital model including multi-purpose, dynamic, and reusability. Therefore, the systematic methodology is needed to help students understand the principles and utilities of digital modeling and apply them to their design. This research aims at proposing a pedagogic process of digital modeling for performance-oriented design. The research introduces the continuity model of basic design coursework to form a pedagogic model for digital modeling. While experiencing a series of projects including Lampshade, Waffle-structured chair, and Voronoi mass, students understand the concept of form-finding, performance-oriented design, and digital fabrication.
가상현실 기반 사용자 참여형 타공패널 파사드 설계 방법론

Perforated metal sheets are used as panels of facades for controlling environmental factors while ensuring user’s visibility. Despite their functional potentials, only a specific direction of facades or an orientation of a building was considered in the relevant studies. This study proposed a design methodology for the perforated panel facades that reflects the location on the facades and the user’s requirements. The optimization of quantitative and qualitative performance is achieved through communication between designers and users in a VR system. In optimizing quantitative performances, designers use machine learning techniques such as clustering and genetic algorithm to allocate optimal panels on the facades. In optimizing qualitative performances, through the VR system, users intervene in evaluating performances whose preferences are depending on them. The experiment using the office project showed that designers were able to make decisions based on clustering using GMM to optimize multiple quantitative performances. The gap between the target and final performance could be narrowed by limiting the types of perforated panels considering mass customization. In assessing visibility as a qualitative performance, users were able to participate in the design process using the VR system.
오리가미 X-Form Span을 적용한 방음터널의 형상 유형 제안 - 구조성능을 중심으로 -

도시화가 진행됨에 따라 방음시설물에 대한 수요가 증가하고 있다. 그중에서도 방음터널은 특히 고층 건축물에서 방음 성능이 좋아 가장 선호된다. 그러나 방음터널은 가치공학적으로 효율이 매우 떨어지는 시설물이다. 때문에 방음터널의 효율적 운영을 위해 방음터널의 성능을 높이거나 비용을 낮추기 위한 다양한 연구가 수행되었다. 대부분의 연구는 성능을 높이는 과정에서 비용도 함께 늘어났다고 한다. 그러나 비용을 낮추는 접근은 비교적 연구되지 않았다. 본 연구는 방음터널의 폼팩터에 오리가미 X-Form-Span의 형상을 적용해 방음터널의 구조적 성능을 개선하고 부재의 사용량을 절감하였다. 기존 방음터널에 비해 동일한 처짐량을 기준으로 부재량을 최대 25%까지 감소시킬 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 제안된 방음터널의 형태유형은 방음터널의 적용을 확대할 수 있을 것이라고 예측한다. As urbanization progresses, demand for soundproof facilities is increasing. As a result of analyzing the noise barrier tunnel(NBT) in value engineering, it is a low-efficiency facility. Therefore, for the NBT's efficient operation, various studies have been conducted to increase the performance or lower the NBT cost. Most of the studies have also increased the cost to improve performance. And the method of reducing the cost has not been mainly studied. This study applied the shape of Origami X-Form-Span(OXF) to the NBT as a form factor to improve the NBT's structural performance and further reduce the number of members used. Compared to the existing NBS, the OXF type could reduce the number of members by up to 25% based on the same amount of deflection. The NBT type proposed in this study is predicted to expand the application of NBT.
여성 건강운동 참여자의 자의식과 사회적 체형 불안의 관계 : 운동 전념의 조절효과 검증

The purpose of this study was to verify whether exercise commitment moderates the relationship between self-consciousness and social physique anxiety in women who ragularly participate in exercise. Also, the current study examined the group differences (body mass index and exercise volume) in self-consciousness, social physique anxiety, and exercise commitment. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 249 women with the measure of self-consciousness, social physique anxiety, and exercise commitment. A sample size of 244 was employed, and ANOVA & t-test for the group difference and multiple regression analysis for moderating effect were conducted. Results indicated that the high BMI group has a more social physique anxiety than the low BMI group, and the high exercise volume group has less social physique anxiety and more exercise commitment than the low exercise volume group. The findings also demonstrated that the positive association between self-consciousness and social physique anxiety was buffered by cognitive exercise commitment, but not by behavioral commitment. Thus, it suggests that women exercising need to shift their focus on other things (i.e., exercise itself) rather than on self-things such as body image in order to alleviate social physique anxiety caused by self-consciousness.
