유아는 어린 시절부터 많은 문학작품들을 접하면서 성장한다. 그러므로 문학작품의 특성은 유아의 성정체감이나 성역할에 대한 관점을 형성하는데 영향을 미치게 된다. 따라서 유아들이 접하는 문학작품에 등장하는 인물들을 성역할과 관련하여 심도 깊게 분석해볼 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 유아를 대상으로 성역할 고정관념에 대처하기 위한 교육과정에서 활용되는 문학작품들 중 3편을 선정하여 등장인물의 성역할에 관하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 분석 결과를 보면 다음과 같다. 먼저 유아교육 현장에서 성역할 편견에 대처하기 위하여 활용되는 문학작품들 중 본 연구에서 분석한 작품에는 우리 사회에서 전통적으로 기대되어 온 가녀린 여성으로서의 이미지에 더하여 강인한 힘과 유능함도 함께 가질 것이 요구되고 있어 여성들에게 과거보다 오히려 더 과도한 짐을 지우고 있었다. 다음으로 전통적으로 여성들이 담당해 온 가사노동의 진정한 의미와 가치에 대한 진지한 논의가 이루어지기 보다는 오히려 그 가치를 퇴색시키는 듯한 내용이 다루어지고 있었다. 마지막으로 성역할 고정관념에 의한 직업 선택에 대처하기 위하여 창작된 작품에서는 우리 사회에서 전통적으로 여성성의 특성이 발휘되어 온 직업이 그 내용에서 배제되어 개인의 개성이나 적성에 부합하는 진정한 양성평등적인 내용으로 보기는 어려웠다. Children`s literature can effect on forming the view of young children about sex role identity since young children have read various types of books after birth. So it is needed to analyze about the sex-role of characters in literature for young children. In this research, 3 picture books which have been read mostly in early childhood anti-bias curriculum against young children`s formation of stereotyping sex-role identity. The results of analysis in this study were as follows: First, it seemed that in these days the burden of women have been getting heavier than past since the typical role of women was still expected to fulfill and at the same time, power and capability for jobs outside home have been demanded. Second, the meaning or the value of household chores which was typically carried out by women was rather ignored than appreciated. Third, in a picture-book which was analyzed in this study, there were introduced not various sorts of jobs but jobs which were traditionally occupied by men in our society. It was discussed for further research and early childhood education according to these results.

All education courses have their own values and faith based on a specific paradigm, and those are directly reflected to educational practice. ‘NURI curriculum’ was developed and applied as the national level curriculum of Korea for 3∼5 year old children since 2013. With this reformation, all kindergartens and day care centers in Korea are utilizing the NURI course. The natural science area of NURI curriculum is based on the perspective theory of evolutionary, naturalism and humanism. However the science area, light of the Christian world-view, can become the path of understanding the overwhelming hidden wisdom which the God has put into the created world. Therefore, the natural science area of NURI course is one of the fields where young children can comprehend and appreciate greater joy of the superb wisdom and unbelievable truth of mighty the God, than in any other categories. It is the role and mission for the Christian teacher that considering and restructuring of NURI course based on the Christian paradigm to teach the young children not segregating from NURI course. This research explored the viewpoint of the science activities in the teacher`s manual and teacher`s guidebook of natural science area of NURI course, diagnosed education objectives and contents factors in order to provide the appreciation and inspiration while restructuring the activities and suggest the education objectives and teacher support methods in accordance with Christianity paradigm.
