Acrylic polymer binder are being applied to road sign binder to meet high transparency and tensile strength. Since acrylic binder lacks of water resistance, it tries to increase water resistance for protecting phosphorescent materials in binder. In this study, using various acrylic monomer species and acrylates (2-HEMA, MMA), silicone acrylates and Initiator(BPO) with Nitrogen catalyst (PTE) was mixed by changing the ratio of acrylates and silicone acrylates. Mechanical properties, transmittance, contact angle were reviewed by Universal Test Machine (UTM), UV-Visible Spectrophotometer (UV) and Contact Angle Meter. Also, Polymerization of the binder and samples were confirmed by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FT-IR).

In order to investigate the characteristics of grinding and diamond wheel grinding ceramic materials, grinding resistance, surface roughness of worked surface and image of grinding wheel were acquired using experimental method. Through the experiments, this makes it possible to observe grinding wheel behavior by grinding resistance, surface roughness and cutting edge ratio. In case of Al₂O₃, cutting edge ratio is begger than that of ZrO₂ and Si₃N₄. That’s because Al₂O₃ has a characteristics of low fracture toughness and bending stress.

The roll gap set-up in the finishing mill is one of the most important technologies in the hot plate rolling process. As the target thickness can be obtained by the correct set-up of the roll gap, set up technology is very critical for plate thickness accuracy. The main cause of thickness variation in hot plate mills is the non-uniform temperature distribution along the length of the slab. The objective of this study is to adjust the roll gap set-up for the thickness accuracy of plate in hot rolling process considering top-end temperature drop. Therefore this study has concentrated on determining the correct amounts of roll gap to compensate thickness variation due to top-end temperature drop. The off-line simulation of compensated roll gap significantly decreases top-end thickness variation.
