Physiological responses and tolerance limit of hybrid striped bass (Morone chrysops ♀×M. saxatilis ♂), were investigated on salinity changes from 33psu to 0psu and from 0 to psu 33psu in two separate trials, respectively. In the acute salinity decrease from sea water (33psu) to fresh water (0psu), plasma level of cortisol, glucose, total protein, aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) were not affected, however, Na+, Cl- and osmolality significantly decreased. In the acute salinity increase from fresh water to sea water (33psu), plasma cortisol level did not change. Glucose and total protein concentrations in plasma and hematocrit (Hct) decreased, whereas AST, ALT, Na+, Cl- and osmolality increased. The hybrid striped bass can overcome the acute changes of salinity, from 0psu to 33psu or from 33psu to 0psu, But salinity decrease stressed the fish much more than salinity increase.
희석액별 넙치(Paralichthys olivaceus) 정자의 냉장보존 효과

The effects of diluents composition on cold storage for olive flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) sperm were examined in terms of the swimming speed of sperm, the percentage of mobile sperm, and fertilization rates. The following results indicated that cold storage methods with fresh conditions could be employed in olive flounder milt preservation. The preserved sperm of olive flounder that was diluted 1:10 with artificial seminal plasma II (ASP II) and Stein's solution (SS) at 0℃ remained motile for 30 days. The most effective condition for cold storage was ASP II and SS at 0℃ for the sperm, although there is no significant difference statistically. No difference in the fertilization rate was found between fresh sperm and the preserved ones with ASP I, II and SS at 10 days post-storage.
희석액별 감성돔, Acanthopagrus schlegeli 정자의 단기보존 효과

Experiments were performed to find out the proper conditions of diluents for the short-tenn storage of sperm of black seabream, Acanthopagrus schlegeli. For milt collection, brood stock was reared in a recirculating seawater system. The following results indicated that short-term storage methods with fresh condition could tie employed in black seabream sperm. When the black seabream's serum was used as a diluent for the fresh storage, sperm activity index (SAI), fertilization rate and survival rate derived the best result in $7\~10\;days$ of storage. pH 7 and 8 showed the highest SAI in the same storage condition. In order to keep high SAI and survival rate of the sperm, addition of 800 ppm neomycine into the diluent revealed the best storage results. 감성돔, Acanthopagrus schlegeli 정자의 단기보존을 위한 기초자료를 얻기 위하여, 순환여과사육 시스템에서 사육한 전장 $25.9{\pm}1.7cm$, 체중 $292.8{\pm}53.7g$의 성숙한 어미로부터 정액을 채집하여 정자의 액상보존 효과를 조사하였다. 희석액별 단기 액상보존 실험에서 혈청을 사용하였을 때 보존 10일후 정자의 SAI와 생존율은 각각 0.3, $55.6\%$로 가장 좋았으며, 보존 7일후의 감성돔 알에 대한 수정률도 $47.7\%$로 혈청이 가장 좋았다. 정자를 pH $7\~8$의 희석액에서 보존하였을 때 가장 높은 SAI를 보였으며, 정자의 생존율과 SAI를 높이기 위한 항생제로는 neomycine(800ppm)이 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.

These studies were conducted to compare the radulae of six species (Nordotis madaka, N. gigantea, N. discus discus, N. discus hannai, Sulculus diversicolor diversicolor, and S. diversicolor supertexta) of the family Haliotidae in Korea using the scanning electron microscope. As a result, teeth of all species has asymmetry rhipidoglossate form and basic tooth formula of six Haliotids was >50-5-1-5-50< (one central tooth, five lateral teeth, and over the 50 marginal teeth on each side). Therefore it is difficult that all of the species can be detected sharply the difference of interspecies by comparisons of radulae.
