This paper suggests that the innovative synchronous and asynchronous evaluation system for the Web-Based English Instruction in terms of a set of three modes: On-line Group-Oral Testing mode, CAT(Computer-Adaptive Testing) mode, and On-line Performance-Based Testing mode. This system is suitable for the varied multimedia evaluation environment because it provides various media functions. It is estimated that this system has a high degree of efficiency, and low degree of periodical cost and time constraint Applying the system"s various functions and interlacing, we can design and implement interactive electronic authentication for language testing. On-line Group-Oral Testing mode is designed to include audio/video/chatting control to conduct group oral testing. The primary aim of this mode is to provide students with interactive testing environments to supplement authentic language use. CAT mode is designed to include an adaptive tool to construct on-line adaptive testing. In this mode, a student is free to take the test at any time within a specified time frame. Finally On-line Performance-Based Testing mode is designed to explore the applicability of computer technology to developing more valid measurement tools for the performance testing in cyberspace.
웹(Web) 기반 영어교육 프로그램 평가기준 개발에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study was to develop evaluation criteria for Web-Based English Instruction(WBEI) Programs. To achieve this purpose I first analysed the elements of WBEI and the models for the Design of WBEI. From the analysis I chose key elements from which I derived criteria for different areas of the developing conceptual model. The areas were divided into four categories: learning aims, content design, learning/teaching strategies, and technological support available for learning language. These areas were subdivided into 28 items for the evaluation criteria such as the clearness of learning aims, the appropriateness of feedback, and loading speed. These items, then, were examined in terms of objectivity by the meta-evaluation group, and five items were left out as inappropriate. Thus, 24 items were finally considered as evaluation criteria. In the mean time the result of the application of the criteria items on the 5 Web sites for English education revealed that this evaluation criteria system worked fairly well. However, there exist considerable validity and objectivity concerns. I dare not say that the criteria developed in this study is completed. Instead, I admit that it is one of many experimental criteria. Therefore, for the developing better criteria it is necessary that we continually receive feedback from the schools about the effectiveness of WBEI programs and that we derive our criteria from this experience. < Keukdong College >

As to display products are made slim, the diameter of aluminum electrolytic capacitor is smaller and the length is longer to be fitted in. These small diameter and long length are pointed as the disadvantageous design factors of the capacitor’s life cycle. So, the most electronic makers want to use proven capacitors (or well-known) to secure reliability of the electric products. In this study, we carried out the comparison analysis with two domestic capacitors and one foreign made capacitor. We designated separators, rubber breather and debris as the main factors that effect on the lifetime of capacitors. From the comparison results, we suggested the improvement points of the aluminum electrolytic capacitor.
