Nongsugak, an observatory built by Hong Daeyong in the yard of his residence, provides a rare example in the history of astronomy in pre-modern Korea of a Confucian scholar engaging in a systematic program of astronomical observation outside the government bureaucracy. This paper examines Hong’s program of astronomy and its place in his broader pursuit of literati learning. Particular emphasis is placed on the ways in which Hong intertwined two kinds of endeavor: first, the material practice of building instruments and the observatory, and second, the socio-literary practice of exchanging letters, poems, and essays about his observatory with his fellow literati. This illustrates how he culturally legitimized a new concept of a literati mathematician, an emerging figure in mid-eighteenth-century Korea. It also shows how Hong’s scholarly program and the role of astronomy within it evolved in the 1760s and 70s to increasingly emphasize the importance of calculation and observation as essential means of reforming the metaphysically oriented Confucian scholarship of the time.
Rheology Study of Polyurethane for PSA Additive

Among biomass-derived alcohols, 2,5-bishydroxymethyl tetrahydrofuran (THFDM) is a common chemical structure. In the recent years, conversion of THFDM to other fine chemicals has received increasing attention. In this study, we synthesized PU based on furan by poly-carbonyl diol (PCD), hexamethylene diisocyanate (IPDI) and THFDM. The synthesized PU showed high viscosity. The PU was used as an additive to optical clear resin (OCR). Nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer (NMR) and FT-IR was used to confirm the chemical reaction. The rheological properties of OCR using PU based on furan as additive analyzed rheometer.

최근 위치 기반 소셜 네트워크를 활용한 POI(Point of Interest) 추천 서비스가 중요하게 연구되고 있다. POI 추천의 정확도를 향상하기 위하여 다양한 요인들을 고려하는 기존 연구가 진행되었다. 하지만 사용자의 현재 상황적인 요소 중 위치와 시간 등과 같은 다양한 요소를 고려하지 못하는 한계가 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 사용자 활동 패턴과 카테고리 유사성을 고려한 POI 추천 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법은 활동성에 따라 사용자를 그룹화하고, 사용자와 장소가 가진 특성을 고려한다. 또한 사용자로부터 수집하는 시간, 장소와 함께 카테고리 유사성 등을 추가적으로 고려하여 보다 개인화된 추천을 수행한다. 제안하는 기법의 우수성을 증명하기 위하여 자체 성능평가 및 비교 성능평가를 수행한다. 성능평가 결과, 제안하는 기법이 기존 기법에 비해 약 16% 향상된 정확도를 보인다. 제안하는 기법은 소셜 미디어 데이터를 활용한 개인 맞춤형 추천 기법이나 추천 기법을 활용한 응용에 전반적으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. Recently, POI(Point of Interest) recommendation services using a location-based social network have been studied importantly. However, there are limitations that the existing schemes cannot consider various spatial and temporal features. In this paper, we propose a POI recommendation scheme based on user activity patterns and category similarity. The proposed scheme groups users by user activity and considers the features of users and places. IIt also performs more personalized recommendations by additionally considering category similarities along with the time and place it collects from users. In order to show the superiority of the proposed scheme, we evaluate and compare the performance with the existing schemes. As a result, the proposed scheme achieves about 16% better performance than the existing schemes. We expect that the proposed scheme can be applied to the personalized recommendation schemes or applications in social media environments.
