북한 무용의 재해석

본 글은 북한 문화예술의 특징 분석을 통해 북한 무용을 재해석하는데 목적을 두었다. 북한에서 무용을 비롯한 모든 장르의 문화예술은 정권수립 초기에는 사회 주의리얼리즘 미학에 충실했으나 주체사상의 성립과 더불어 독자적인 성격을 띠게 되었다. 무엇보다도 민족문화를 강조하는 가운데 주체사상을 가미한 문화예술이 정착하게 되었다. 따라서, 문화예술은 매우 직접적인 방식으로 상징과 이미지를 통해 국가통치의 주요 수단으로 활용되었다. 본 연구결과 무용의 경우도 다른 예술작품과 마찬가지로 작가의 자율적이고 추상성이 완전히 배제되었다. 철저히 계급성(노동계급), 당성, 인민대중성을 띠는 가운데, 무용의 기초를 인간생활에 두었다. 즉 북한 무용의 형식과 내용의 출발점은 포괄적인 의미에서 생활이며, 생활 소재의 올바른 선정이 혁명적 예술의 기본요건이 된다는 것이다. 또한 무용에서 형상대상이 되는 자연현상은 인간과 무관한 자연현상이 아니라 인간의 사상감정을 폭넓고 깊이 있게 보여주기 위한 보조적인 수단에 불과한 것으로 보고있다. 무용은 인간의 신체 움직임을 통한 사상전달 매체 도구로 해석되며, 무대의 거대화, 장치의 거대화, 많은 출연진, 무용에 음악을 가미 하는 등으로 인민대중을 압도하여 선동적 효과를 최대화시키는 사상전달 매체로 평가된다. The purpose of this study is to reinterpret North Korean dance by analyzing the characteristics of North Korean cultural arts. In North Korea, most genres of cultural art are based on the political establishment’s socialist realism esthetics, yet they tend to have independent domains such as the formation of the Juche idea. That is, the cultural art which has the Juche idea is settled while emphasizing the national culture. Therefore, culture arts were used as a means of national rule in a direct way of symbol and image. The result of this study shows that dance also excludes the author’s autonomy and abstractness like other art works. Dance is based on the people’s everyday lives, the working class, and popular appeal. The form and contents of dance start from life experiences, and the selections of everyday life materials are the fundamental requirement for revolutionary art. Natural phenomenon in dance is not something that has no relations with the people but a means to show the thoughts of people more deeply. In conclusion, dance is interpreted as a means of transmitting thoughts through the motions of the people. Furthermore, the visual spectacle, scale of the stage sets, and large number of participants maximizes the propagandistic or ideological potential of dance.

연구논문 : 정치와 문화예술의 상호관계성에 관한 고찰

이 글은 정치와 문화예술의 상호 관계를 밝히고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 특히, 정치권력과 상호 연계되는 문화예술이 정치와 어떤 방식과 내용으로 서로를 품고있는 것인지를 분석하였다. 기본적으로 문화예술과 정치는 인류 역사의 시작과 함께해 온 시대적 반영물로써, 이둘의 관계는 출발점에서부터 서로가 서로에게 영향을 주고 받는 긴밀한 관계에 있다. 이러한 관계 속에서 문화예술은 이미지, 상징, 기호, 텍스트, 스타일, 의미생산 등의 속성을 통해 정치에 영향을 미치거나 정치적이다. 이 점에서 문화예술은 속성상 고도의 정치적의미를 갖는 정치적 메커니즘이라고 볼 수 있다. 특히, 문화예술은 의미생산을 통해 정치사회적 이데올로기를 작동시킨다. 이데올로기를 작동시키는 방식은 직접적이기보다는 간접적이다. 이처럼 문화예술은 그 속에 내재된 이미지, 의미생산, 상징을 통해서, 정치는 권력이라는 강제력을 통해서 문화예술의 수용자들에게 침묵을 강화하거나 조장하는 힘을 발휘한다. 또한 이것은 정치행동 또는 비정치적 행동 기저에 강력하게 작용한다. 정치는 문화예술이 지니고 있는 이러한 속성을 이용하여 정치권력을 유지·확장한다. 특히, 정치권력은 문화예술이 지니고 있는 상징과 이미지를 중요한 지배 수단의 하나로 간주한다. 따라서,이러한 둘의 관계는 작용반작용 법칙 하에 서로가 서로를 품거나 견인하고 있다. 그러나 현실적으로 보여지는 둘의 관계나 현상은 문화예술이 지배자의 이익을 반영하는데 있어서 매우 단기적이고 효율적으로 사용되고 있는 반면에, 문화예술이 정치변화를 견인하고 정치적 행동 변화를 가져오는 것은 보다 장기적이고 그 속도가 느리다. 문화예술은 변화(창조와 변화)를 통해 기존의 범주와 가치의 위계를 파괴한다는 점에서 정치발전 또는 정치변화의 기초를 제시한다. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between politics and cultural art. Basically, cultural art and politics have reflected the spirit of the age since the beginning of the human history, and they impact each other. That is, cultural art is political or affects the politics by image, symbol, sign, text, style, and the product of meaning. In that sense, cultural art is seen as the political mechanism which has high-degree political meaning. It activates the political and social ideology by the product of meaning of which is rather indirect. On the other hand, politics affects the consumers of cultural art through its power. By using the attributes of cultural art, politics maintains and extends its political authority. The symbol and image which the cultural art has are very important tools for the political authority. Therefore, these two tow each other under the principal of action and reaction. Yet, realistically, it seems that the cultural art is used for the ruler’s profits very effectively in the short-term while the power of the cultural art to induce the political change is in the long-term and slowly activated. The cultural art proposes the foundation of the political development or political change in that it destroys the existing category and order of rank.

쇼펜하우어 예술론과 무용교육

Dance education, despite its artistic and liberal aspect, has been carried out as a part of physical education at home and abroad. However, many dance educators, including performers, choreographers, and scholars, criticize this situation and hope that the subject of dance is independent like music and fine art. This paper aims to suggest an alternative to the problems of today`s dance education by discussing Arthur Schopenhauer, A.`s theory of arts. As a research method, comparing the philosopher`s will-oriented metaphysics and intellectualism and illuminate Schopenhauer, A.`s idea about dance by pointing at the misunderstanding about it. Next, explaining that the existing method of dance is in its Dionysian spirit of freedom in light of voluntarism and present a solution to the problem of this subject from this philosophical study.

연구논문 : 문화의 산업화에 대한 아도르노의 해석 -대중문화의 순응적 성격과 그 비판을 중심으로-

문화가 산업화 됨으로써 야기되는 여러 가지 문제점들을 비판적 시각에서 살펴보는 것은 물질만능시대에 인간의 정신과 몸에 대한 성찰을 가능하게 한다. 본 논문은 이러한 인식을 바탕으로 문화의 산업화에 대한 부정적 측면을 아도르노(TheodorWiesengrund Adorno)의 시각에서 고찰함으로써 자본주의 사회에서 제기될 수 있는 문화의 본질을 꿰뚫어 보았다. 아도르노의 문화의 산업에 대한 비판과 분석은 일면 문화와 자본주의와의 관계 속에서 대중문화에 대한 비판·분석인 것처럼 보인다. 그렇지만 아도르노의 문화의 산업에 대한비판은 근본적으로는 마르크스주의에 입각한 자본주의 시대의 모순되고 불합리한 생산구조 및 양식에 대한 폭로 정도로 해석된다. 그러나 이러한 해석들만으로는 아도르노의 생각을 적절하게 파악할 수 없다. 문화의 산업화가 잘못된 쾌락을 조장하고 개인을 말살시킴으로써 후기 자본주의 사회에서 개인이 어떠한 상태에 놓여 있는가를 잊게 만든다는 사실을 인식할 때 아도르노의 생각을 정확히 파악할 수 있다. 문화의 산업화에 대한 아도르노의 비판에 동의할 수 있는 부분을 찾는다면 그것은 문화산업과 함께 거세게 표출되고 있는 ‘개인의 상실’과 ‘몸’에 대한 담론일 수 있다. 아도르노의 비판처럼 문화의 산업화에서 대중문화는 전적으로 부정적인 것인가? 그렇지 않다는 것이다. 적어도 대중문화가 누군가를 위해서 쓰여진다는 점, 대중문화가 대중매체를 통해서 집단적 자아와 연결된다는 점, 그리고 대중매체의 발달이 대중에게 문화 예술의 민주적 향유 가능성을 증대시킨다는 점에서 긍정적 요소도 가지고 있다는 것이다. Of looking at the critics that many problems caused by culture which became industrialization facilitate introspection about sprite and body of human in age of materialism. On the basis of this recognition, as the thesis considers negative aspect about industrialization of culture in point of the Adorno. It perceives essence of culture which can propose in capitalism society. Criticism and analysis about industry of culture of Adorno seems criticism and analysis about public culture in relationship which is between one side culture and capitalism. But criticism about industry of culture of Adorno basically conflict with age of capitalism which is based on Marcks and it interprets as much as exposure about the unreasonable production construction and mode. However, only these interpretations can’t grasp the thought of Adorno properly. Acknowledging, the fact that industrialization of culture makes people forget by wrong pleasure and individual annihilation will help understanding the thought of Adorno. If we find a part which we can agree criticism of Adorno about culture industrialization, it might be argument about strongly expressive ‘loss of individual’, and ‘body’ with culture industrialization. According to criticism of Adorno, is public culture completely negative in culture industrialization? No. There are some positive parts. First, public culture is using for someone. Second, public culture connect collective ego through mass media. Last, developing of mass media improves democratic enjoyment possibility of culture art.
