LNT has been considered as one of NOx reduction technologies for EURO6 regulations and is required to be optimized for the diesel passenger cars of which the exhaust gas temperature is expected to be lower than those of cars complying with the previous regulations. There are two major factors to be considered, increasing the NO conversion to NO2, which is likely to be stored on the storage site, at the temperature region as low as possible and trapping ability to the formed NO2 under the specific exhaust gas condition. And the desulfation characteristics is the another aspect of LNT to be addressed because of the fuel penalty resulting from the extra fuel consumption that is necessary to generate the fuel-rich high temperature environment. In this study, an optimization has been carried out to develop LNT catalyst for EURO-6 regulations in terms of PM-NSC interaction, NSC amount. Combining the optimization with the application of new NSC showed a significant improvement in the LNT performance such as NOx conversion, NOx storage capacity and desulfation characteristics.

In railway business plan, operations require a strategic and sustained level of planned investment to ensure assets are fit for purpose over the whole of their planned life. Therefore it is essential that operator can confidently plan and predict capital investment requirements over a number of years. This research addresses that how the London Underground apply a systematic risk based approach to their health and safety planning and investment decision making. Through this case study, we investigate the elements of management system that includes arrangements for the ongoing identification of hazards, assessment of risks and the implementation of necessary control measures. Risk based business planning processes are also addressed.
미세 유두 갑상선암의 크기에 따른 임상상 및 단기간 치료 결과

Purpose :The incidence of papillary thyroid microcarcinoma(PTMC) has increased due to the widespread use of high resolution ultrasonography and fine-needle aspiration biopsy. However, the clinical and biologic behaviors of PTMC is debatable. The aim of this study was to describe clinicopathologic features of PTMC and to suggest whether tumor size(5mm) might prove the useful parameter for determining the surgical strat-egy in PTMC. Material and Methods :From Jan. 2000 to Dec. 2005, 1355 of 2678 patients with papillary thyroid car-cinoma were identified as having PTMC, based on tumor size≤10mm(50.6%). Among patients with PTMC, we further separated tumors<5mm(minute group:group M) from those 5 to 10mm(tiny group:group T). We compared the clinicopathological characteristics and the TNM stagings between two groups. Results :There were 114(8.4%) men and 1241(91.6%) women with a median age of 47 years(range;13-79). During a mean follow-up of 47.3(range;22-93), 13 patients(1.0%) developed locoregional recur-rences and 3 patients(0.2%) showed distant metastases at initial presentation. Statistical analysis revealed that the presence of extracapsular invasion(p<0.0001), invasion to adjacent structure(p<0.0001), multifocality(p< 0.0001), central lymph node metastasis(p<0.0001), and lateral lymph node metastasis(p<0.0001) were all significantly higher in tiny group(tumor≥5mm). Furthermore, minute group demonstrated a significantly lower tumor stage(AJCC TNM classification) compared with tiny group(p<0.0001). Conclusion :Patients with PTMC have a favorable treatment outcomes, although the distinction needs to be made with reference to the clinicopathologic behaviors. It would be reasonable to consider that tumor size(5mm) would be useful parameter for the treatment strategy of PTMC.
방사선 조사 및 수용성 이온성 조영제가 배양 임파구에 미치는 영향

Cytogenetic effects of radiation exposure and ionic contrast media were evaluated in peripheral lymphocytes. Accentric chromosome fragments produced n cells by radiation exposure or othe agents give rise to imcronuclei in daughter cells. The micronuclei could be counted readily in larger number of cell which provided a sensitive measure of radiation exposure and contrast media induced chromosome aberration. Radiation exposure and contrast media induced microunclei formations in human lymphocytes were counted in vitro and in vivo. Results were as follows: 1. Micronuclei in lymphocytes were produced by exposure to contrast media and/or radiation. 2. Numbers of micronuclei formation in peripheral lymphocytes after enhanced CT were more increased than inert condition. 3. Lymphocytes of micronuclei formation were increased in number of the plate prepared with contrast media only, but the number of lymphocyte of microniclei formation was not proportional to the concentration of contrast media. 4. The number of lymphocytes of radiation exposure and contrast media induced micronuclei formation was increased than te preparation with contrast media only. 5. The number of lymphocyte of radiation exposure and contrast media induced micronuclei formation in vitro was more increased than enhanced CT in vivo.

A patient with uncontrollable postoperative renal hemorrhage was successfully treated by selective injection of gelfoam into the anterior inferior segmental branch of right renal artery. Follow up arteriography was done 16 days later. It revealed persistent occlusion of the bleeding vessels. This method is a simple effective procedure in cases of renal hemorrhage to diverse etiology without responsive management.
