        동해의 음향층심도와 혼합층깊이 차이 분석

        음향층심도의 변화에 대한 이해는 해양상층에서 수중음향 통신, 음향 토모그레피 및 수중항체를 수색하거나 탐지하는 해군 작전에 많은 영향을 미친다. 일반적으로 음향층심도와 혼합층깊이의 정의는 다르게 내려져있으나 혼합층 깊이가 음향학적으로는 음향층심도와 같다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 동해에서 가용한 수온-염분 관측자료를 활용하여 연간 음향층심도와 혼합층깊이를 비교해 보았다. 비교를 위해 다양한 혼합층깊이 결정 기준과 방법으로부터 도출된 혼합층깊이 자료를 활용하였다. 분석결과 동해에서 음향층심도는 곡률변화를 이용한 혼합층깊이와 거의 유사하였으나 다른 혼합층깊이 기준을 적용하였을 시는 많은 차이를 보였다. 한편 음향층심도 계산의 정확도를 평가해 보기 위해 음파전달손실 모의 실험을 실시하였다. 이를 통해 음향층심도내에서 음파전달손실이 최소가 되는 최적주파수가 존재함을 확인하였다. The sonic layer depth (SLD) variability is important for understanding the acoustic properties of the upper ocean that influence acoustic communications, acoustic tomography, and naval operations related to searching and detecting marine underwater vessels. Generally, the SLD is the acoustical equivalent of the mixed layer depth (MLD), although they are defined differently. In this study the SLD was compared with the MLD over the annual cycle in the East Sea using an available set of temperature-salinity observation profiles. For the comparison, various definitions and methods of the MLD had applied. As a result, the SLD in the East Sea is slight similar to the curvature method applied MLD, but the other MLD have severe differences with the SLD. Futhermore, a parabolic equation transmission model is used to evaluate the cutoff frequency trapped in surface duct. It follow that there is an optimum frequency for propagation at which the loss of sound is minimum.

        동해 아극전선 해역의 수중음향환경 및 저주파 음파전달 양상

        To investigate low frequency acoustic transmissions in the Sub-Polar Front(SPF) of the East Sea, numerical experiments are conducted with Range dependent Acoustic Model(RAM) using Circulation Research of the East Asian Marginal Seas(CREAMS) data and Autonomous Profiling Explorer(APEX)) data. Significant seasonal variations of sea water properties are existed across the Sub-Polar Front(SPF) region from the north and the south. The model results show that Transmission Loss(TL) decrease(about 20dB) with ideal front in the warm region whereas TL increase(about 25dB) with ideal front in the cold region. Regardless of season(both in summer and winter), when the sound source is located in the cold region of the SPF, the model results show weak TL, compared to the case of the source in the warm region(Maximum difference of TL reaches 28dB). This difference between the cases when the source is located in the cold region and the warm region, is accounted for from the different vertical profiles of sound speed in both regions.

        해군작전은 해양기상정보에 기반을 둔 계획 수립과 실시간 제공되는 해양기상정보의 효과적 전파 및 활용이 전제될 때 성공적인 임무수행을 보장할 수 있다. 해양과 기상 현상은 매우 다양한 시간주기와 공간규모를 가진다. 해군의 전장 환경은 바다 표면(Sea-Surface), 바다 속(Under-water), 그리고 공중(Air-Space)을 포함하는 3차원 입체공간으로, 가까운 미래에 우주 공간에서 깊은 심해의 해저까지, 우리나라 근해에서 전 세계 해양으로까지 확장될 것으로 예상된다. 또한 갈수록 전투 사이클이 단축되고 있는 전장환경에서 다양한 시간 주기와 공간 규모를 가지는 해양 기상현상들에 의한 해양기상정보의 중요성은 날로 커지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 우리나라 근해의 해양기상현황을 바탕으로 해군 작전에 어떠한 해양기상정보가 필요한지 알아보고 해양기상정보의 효과적 활용을 위한 개선방향을 일부 제시하고자 한다.

        선체 고정형 소나의 음영 구역 최소화

        This paper introduces the Hull Mounted Sonar Vertical Scanning(HMS Verscan) technique to overcome the limitation of target detection in short range shadow zone. Numerical experiments were done with the HMS Verscan taking advantage of the vertical beamforming technique for two-dimension hydrospace(range-depth). For numerical experiments, ray model and high-frequency monostatic reverberation model were used. HMS Verscan increased a sound pressure level at the short range shadow zone through reflections at the sea surface and seafloor. Inclusion of the boundary scattering improved target detection due to the sound reflected into the shadow zone.

        해군작전시 단파(HF) 레이더 자료의 효과적 활용방안

        Exact and rapid acquirement of ocean environment information is going to become more of an indispensable source of naval operations. Ocean surface measurements using High Frequency (HF) radar, which covers about 10-220km and has spatial resolution of 0.3-12km, have being operated in our country. It remotely observe and transmit realtime sea surface currents and waves. In the near future, the HF radar systems will be established along the whole coastal area. A performance of network of HF radar will support various marine and naval activities. Operational uses of HF radar for enhancing naval operation ability are suggested. 해양환경정보를 필요로 하는 어떠한 분야보다도 정확하고 신속한 의사결정이 요구되는 해군작전분야에서는 실시간으로 정확한 해양환경정보를 제공받을 수 있는 효과적인 자료 수집 수단이 필요하다. 현재 국내에서 시험운영중인 단파 레이더는 연안으로부터 약 10-220km의 해역에 대해 약 0.3-12km의 해상도를 가지며 실시간으로 표층해수의 흐름과 파랑을 관측할 수 있다. 단파 레이더를 이용한 표층해수 관측망이 구축되면 다양한 일반 해양 활동과 군사 해양 활동을 지원할 수 있다. 장차, 우리나라 전 연안에 설치되는 단파 레이더를 활용하여 해군작전 임무 수행 능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 방안을 제시한다.

        동해 북부해역의 수중음파전달 변동성

        Temporal and spatial variations of sea water largely affect on the pattern of underwater sound propagation. Acoustic environmental changes and their effects on underwater sound propagation in the northern part of the East Sea, which have been poorly studied mainly due to lack of observations, are investigated by analyzing the hydrographic data acquired since 1993. Severe changes in acoustic environments are associated with various physical processes such as deep convection, thermal fronts, and eddies in the northern part of the East Sea. Spatio-temporal variations of sound speed field and the layer of the maximum sound speed are categorized into six typical cases. Using a sound source of 5 kHz, acoustic transmission losses are calculated range-independently for the six typical cases. Significant differences among the patterns of transmission loss in the six cases suggest that a different tactics are required when we operate in the northern part of the East Sea.

        순차통역 수업에서의 동영상 활용에 관한 예비연구 : 학습자의 관점에서

        Public speaking skills are essential to improving student interpreters’ consecutive interpreting performance. Student performance was video recorded for a semester and weekly assessed by the students as a tool to help trainee interpreters demonstrate a critical awareness of extra-linguistic aspects ofspeech, i.e. delivery problems, and improve presentation skills. A 6-point scale assessment sheet was employed based on two main criteria: body language and vocal behavior. A survey was also conducted towards the end of the semester to understand how the students evaluated the video-aided classroom and to reveal further data on students’ consecutive interpreting delivery. Whereas no significant improvement in students’ public speaking skills was manifested, students responded very positively to the trial, suggesting benefits and didactic approaches for further studies.

        코로나19 상황에서의 통번역대학원 원격 모의회의 수업 경험에 관한 사례연구

        The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on education. As classes moved online to avoid campus outbreaks, teachers and students struggled to make remote learning work. This study examines the experiences of interpreter trainers of mock-conference courses during the pandemic. In-depth interviews with two teachers were carried out to uncover insight into the impact of the pandemic on mock conference, a course that heavily relies on the use of simulation and role play to link classroom activities to real-life practice. Despite the limitations of online learning tools, the trainers adapted to the new norm by adopting resourceful ways to give remote students “as close to the real experience as possible.” Meanwhile, the two trainers identified “new tools fit for the course’s main learning outcomes” and “student support infrastructure” as primary areas in need for assistance. Student feedback from course evaluations was also analyzed to increase the credibility of the findings. This study is expected to help interpreter trainers navigate through the crisis and provide a possible way towards effective online training of future interpreters.

      • Eco-friend Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles from the Extract of Natural Product

        Eco-friend method is considered to synthesize nanoparticles by using various plant materials, because they do not include hazardous chemicals. For example, it was reported that raspberry extract contains citric acid and ellagic acid which can reduce metal particle. In present study, we synthesized Ag nanoparticles from AgNO3 with raspberry extract. The reaction conditions such as AgNO3 concentration, temperature, and amount of raspberry extract were changed and its effects on the Ag nanoparticles synthesis were recorded. The samples were charaterized by the means of TEM, SEM, XRD, EDX and UV-Vis spectroscopy.

        Characterization of Human Short Tandem Repeats (STRs) for Individual Identification Using the Ion Torrent

        Human genomic short tandem repeats (STRs) are specific gene sequences containing base pairs that are repeatedly arranged. From the various methods available for identifying individuals, STR analysis is the method most widely used in forensic science. Conventional polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was used for STR typing, and the PCR products, consisting of amplified STR loci (amplicons) were electrophoresed with a DNA analysis device. About ten STR markers were used as standards for STR characterization and analysis of size. Extensive efforts are currently being made to explore the STR sequence diversity by analyzing multiple chromosomal loci using next generation sequencing (NGS). NGS greatly facilitates STR marker analysis for individual identification and the complete sequencing of any given sample through concurrent high-throughput sequencing of multiple loci. As a result, NGS data are more accurate and comprehensive compared to that in a conventional database. In order to overcome the limitations of the currently used size-based STR analysis method, we have typed the DNA of 13 combined DNA index system (CODIS) STR markers using Ion PGM. This kit, developed by Ion Torrent, enables the analysis of STR alleles and the sequencing of corresponding genes. We then analyzed the alleles using the HID_STR_Genotyper plugin. Through this, we determined the sequence of the allele type 15 at the D3S1358 locus in all NIST SRM 2391b samples. This allowed for the verification of the exact type of allele, which the conventional size-based STR typing methods could not resolve.
