This paper introduces the 10b 1MS/s SAR ADC with double sampling technique to reduce the power consumption. The SAR ADC is implemented in CMOS 1P8M 65nm technology and occupies 0.11um2. The maximum sampling rate is 1MS/s. The simulated SNDR and SFDR are 55.6㏈ and 62.7㏈ at 484㎑ input frequency, respectively. The implemented data converter consumes 507㎼ with 1.2-V supply.

This article is to analyze the discussions on the digital divide. By reading through the discussions which have been going on so far, the author tries to suggest the alternative policy to overcome the shortcomings of most analyses on the topic of digital divide. The study about both trends and reasons of digital divide started with whether or not people could access the information technology or information network. The simple and binary approach of access/or not could not propose the suitable policy to solve the digital divide. After realizing that dichotomy approach of access cannot divulge the complexities of the phenomena of digital divide, various discussions of demographic variable approach, social capital, culture capital, and even individual capability have been forwarded by many scholars. Even though most discussion on digital divide have found out that people have to take divers approaches to study digital divide, most discussions have a critical weakness in terms of defining the concept of information. This article tries to supplement the discussions on digital divide through both the in-depth analysis of the definition of information and the understanding the arguments of the distribution of resources by Amatyr Sen.

과연 가상공간의 정체성은 무엇이고, 가상공간에서의 사람들의 커뮤니케이션은 어떠한 특징이 있는가? 지금까지 가상공간은 미지의 공간이며 많은 사람이 자신들이 원하는 것을 얻을 수 있는 자유의 공간으로 간주해 왔다. 한편으로는 사회에 내재한 권력 관계들에 의해 형성하고 있는 공간으로 바라보는 시각도 있다. 본 논문에서는 르페브르와 푸코의 공간, 지식, 그리고 권력의 개념의 논의에 근거하여, 가상공간을 사람들이 자신들의 권력을 행사하는 사회 장치로 개념 규정하였다. 사회 장치로서의 가상공간을 통해 사람들은 자신들의 주체성을 다른 사람들과의 관계를 통해 추구하고 유지하고 있다. 또한, 가상공간에서의 커뮤니케이션은 기존의 점과 점에서 관계, 즉, 선의 커뮤니케이션을 그 특징으로 하고 있다. Because of the digitization of communication media, each and separate communication media in the past has begun to converge. As some medium theorists such as Harold Innis, Marshall McLuhan had suggested, communication media have influenced the cognition of human being, furthermore, have a close relationship with epistemology. From these arguments, this report tries to describe the emerging phenomena, focusing on the mode of communication. What is the identity of cyberspace? What are the characteristics of communication through cyberspace? For these research problems, this paper takes a look at the discussions of Lefebvre and Foucault regarding the social space, power, and knowledge. To explain the identity of cyberspace, this report has taken a look at the arguments of both Henri Lefebvre and Michel Foucault. This report argues that digital space is a kind of emerging self-technology for the people to subjectify themselves. In the cyberspace, the peculiar characteristic of a changing communication mode is that network communication has begun to replace the point-to point communication. Employing the connectivity and mobility which are the major characteristics of convergence, people can add on the existing opinions as well as can express their opinions as free as they can. This paper regards the identity of cyberspace as the social apparatus(dispositif) which refer to the various institutional, physical and administrative mechanisms and knowledge structures which enhance and maintain the exercise of power within the social body. Then mode of communication among people changes from people to people to people to space. In other words, the characteristics of communication through cyberspace is kind of line-communication as Deleuze argues about the subjectification.

커뮤니케이션 편향과 진리

This paper tries to understand the relationship between Harold Innis and John Stuart Mill in terms of the liberty of thinking. Innis argues that the mechanical communications annihilated the freedom of thoughts of individual. The emergence of press stifle the power of thinking of individual. Once certain idea is written into paper, people do not tend to think anymore. Innis worries about the danger of this written material’s bias. In order to solve this written bias, he highlights the importance of oral culture. Innis talks about the importance of education to solve this bias. However, he does not identify what we can do these days. To find the answers for Innis’ question, this paper looks at the discussions of John Stuart Mill. Mill leads the discussion of the relationship between truth finding and freedom of thoughts. According to Mill, because human being has bias intrinsically, people cannot find the absolute truth. They only try to find out the truth. Therefore, the process of truth finding is very important. In the process of truth finding, freedom of thoughts is paramount to guarantee free discussions.

센서 기반 헤모글로빈의 산소 포화도 측정을 위한 아날로그 프런트 엔드 설계 기술 및 방법

이 논문은 산소 포화도 측정을 위하여 설계되는 아날로그 프런트 엔드의 설계 기술 및 디자인 방법에 관한 것이다. 센서로부터 출력되는 데이터를 이용하여 산소포화도를 계산하기 위해서는 센서의 포토다이오드에서 흘려주는 전류 데이터를 전압 데이터로 바꿔주는 것이 필요하다. 설계된 아날로그 프런트 엔드는 센서로부터 출력되는 전류 데이터를 여러 가지 전압 이득을 가지는 형태로 후방의 아날로그 디지털 변환기에 전압을 전달하는 역할을 한다. 설계된 회로는 $0.11{\mu}m$ CMOS공정을 이용하여 설계되었으며, $0.174mm^2$의 면적을 차지한다. This paper describes the design technique and the method of analog front-end to measure the saturation of hemoglobin with oxygen sensor. To process the $SpO_2$ value from the sensor, the current data from the sensor should be converted into voltage domain. Designed analog front-end usually converts the current data from the sensor into voltage domain data to pass it on analog-to-digital converter called ADC with a different level of gain characteristics. This circuit was fabricated in a $0.11{\mu}m$ CMOS technology and has 4 level of gain properties. The occupied area is $0.174mm^2$.

존 스튜어트 밀의 개별성 제고를 위한 대화 형식으로서의 토론의 자유

This paper tries to find out the reasons for the freedom of discussion by John Stuart Mill. Mill argues that the freedom of thought and freedom of discussion are inseparable. This research poses the following research question: Why did Mill strongly argue the freedom of discussion? To approach this question, this paper looks at the relationship of the promotion of individuality which has been suggested by Mill for both utilitarianism and dialogue. Mill warns the phenomena of conformity to follow the opinions of majority without thinking by themselves in democracy. He wants people to make own judgments by themselves. In order to do that, people have to develop their own intellectual capacity. To have a discussion of the development of individual, unlike most liberal philosophers, he employs the concept of individuality borrowed from romanticism. The concept of individuality plays a great role in Mill’s developing his reasoning for the magnitude of the liberty of discussion. The concept of individuality is the place where individual and society meet together to influence each other. Also, Mill describes that the thoughts are patterned by the language unlike most Enlightenment thinkers. Most Enlightenment thinkers argue that the pattern of thought and the use of language are totally different. However, Mill suggests that the pattern of thought is greatly influenced by the use of language. In this context, Mill highlights that the freedom of thought is greatly influenced by the use of language. Therefore, the freedom of speech is very important in guaranteeing the freedom of thought. Furthermore, Mill develops the importance of freedom of discussion to develop individuality. Through exchanging opinions with others, individual can get the grasp of the shortcoming of his/her own opinions because people have to have bias as well as logical fallacy. Mill says that the dialogue by Socrates has been a remarkable method and epistemology for reaching the truth. Mill highlights that there have been two kinds of discussion, eristic and dialogue at his time. He recommends dialogue rather than eristic communication because eristic communication tries to find out the method to win over others’ opinions. However, dialogue tries to find out ones own errors through the comparison with other arguments. From the perspective of the mode of communication, Mill proposes that the freedom of discussion, dialogue, has to be guaranteed to promote individuality. Mill does not put an emphasis on the finding of the truth, rather he highlights the process of going to the truth. In this context, the freedom of discussion based on Socrates dialogue is to reflect the importance of the process rather than results.
