A study was conducted to determine the kiln drying schedule for hydrid aspen, This kiln drying schedule was found by oven drying method and developed by pilot testing of 2.0cm, 2.5cm, 3.0cm-thick green lumber. The results of this study were as follows: 1. Kiln drying schedule developed by oven-drying method was $T_{12}-E_5$ for 2.5cm-thick green lumber. 2. Drying times for 2.0cm-thick green lumber(127.0 percent moisture content) to 7.3 percent moisture content, for 2.5cm-thick green lumber(95.0 percent moisture content) to 9.7 percent moisture content, and for 3.0cm-thick green lumber(118.5 percent moisture content) to 10.0 percent moisture content were 45 hours, 45 hours, and 54 hours, respectively. 3. Drying rate from 90 to 10 percent moisture content of 2.5cm-thick lumber was about 0.7 times faster than that of 2.0cm-thick lumber and about 1.1 times faster than that of 3.0em-thick lumber. 4. End checks for 2.0cm-, 2.5cm-, and 3.0cm-thick green lumber occurred 95, 74 and 100 percent moisture content, respectively and reached maximum amount in 53, 41, and 60 percent moisture content, respectively. 5. No surface check and no honeycomb occurred. 6. Cupping and collapse slightly occurred and the quality of dry lumber was first.

A new CVT, the inner spherical traction CVT (ISCVT) is introduced. Transmission of the most scooters is the self-controlled variable pulley-belt type of CVT having some disadvantages in the fuel consumption and the limitation of the transmittable power due to the slippage between the belt and pulley. Unlike this, ISCVT controlled directly by driver is more efficient and the contact mechanism having the same line of contact normal of the spherical rotors of different radii on common center causes that the power density and torque capacity are remarkably improved. The prototype with the specifications of 50cc scooter is designed and tested.
집적영상에서 효율적인 물체움직임 추정 및 차 영상 기법을 이용한 서브영상의 고속 압축

본 논문에서는 서브영상(sub-image)에 MSE(mean square error)기반의 블록정합 알고리즘인 TSS (three-step search)와 FS (full search)를 복합적으로 적용함으로써 물체움직임을 고속, 정밀하게 추정 보상하고, 차 영상 기법을 통해 공간적 중복데이터를 제거한 잔여영상(residual image)을 고속 압축할 수 있는 새로운 기법을 제시하였다. 즉, 제안된 기법에서는 픽업된 영상 간의 유사성을 향상시키기 위하여 픽업된 요소영상으로부터 서브영상을 재합성한 뒤, TSS 기반의 MSE 알고리즘을 사용하여 전 물체영역을 대상으로 가능한 물체영역 만을 고속으로 찾은 다음, 그 가능한 물체영역에 정밀한 FS 탐색 알고리즘을 적용하여 물체영상의 정확한 움직임 벡터를 추정하여 보상하게 된다. 또한, 움직임이 보상된 물체영상에 차 영상(difference image) 기법을 적용하여 서브영상 간의 공간적 중복 데이터를 제거한 잔여영상을 얻게 되고 이는 MPEG-4 알고리즘을 통해 최종적으로 압축되게 된다. 실험결과, 제안된 기법은 기존방식에 비해 영상 압축률은 그대로 유지하면서 프레임 당 압축시간이 214% 향상됨을 보임으로써 제안된 기법의 실제 응용 가능성을 제시하였다. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to effectively compress the sub-images transformed from the picked-up elemental images in integral imaging, in which motion vectors of the object in each sub-image are fast and accurately estimated and compensated by combined use of MSE(mean square error)-based TSS(tree-step search) and FS(full search) schemes. This is, the possible object areas in each sub-image are searched by using the fast TSS algorithm in advance, then the these selected object areas are fully searched with the accurate FS algorithm. Furthermore, the sub-images in which all object's motion vectors are compensated, are transformed into the residual images by using the difference image method and finally compressed with the MPEG-4 algorithm. Experimental results reveal that the proposed method shows 214% improvement in the compression time per each image frame compared to that of the conventional method while keeping the same compression ratio with the conventional method. These successful results confirm the feasibility of the proposed method in the practical application.
u-City의 노인복지주택계획에 있어서 적용 가능한 유비쿼터스 기술에 관한 기초 연구

This study tried to estimate potential of new ubiquitous technology in housing by observing its services and characteristics and looking into the characteristics of the state u-City that government is looking into. For the research, the researchers identified what the characteristics of senior housing are by analyzing some cases. We will analyze two subjects: the characteristics of home network facilities experimented by 'smart home industrialization support center' which is designated by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy and run by Kookmin University and of what services can be applied to u-City's senior residence. Based on those analyses and the results of the research, we'll plan a senior residence that has the characteristics of ubiquitous services. Through this study, we realize the fact that applying ubiquitous service to senior residence improves the efficiency of existing services offered by senior residence, boosting the safety and stability of the seniors' living.

This paper reports a method to modify the gear tooth profile of a wind turbine gearbox to reduce the noise caused by the impact of the gear teeth. The major causes of tooth impact are the elastic deformation of the gear teeth, shafts, and case of the gearbox under loading, and the fabrication tolerances in gear manufacturing. In this study, the tooth profile was modified considering the elastic deformation of the gear tooth and the tooth lead modification to compensate for tooth interference in the lead direction as a result of shaft deformations. The method was applied to the gearbox of a 2.5MW wind turbine, and the transmission error was characterized before and after modifying the gear teeth. For the modified gear teeth, the transmission error (67.6%) was lower by 17.8%. Additionally, the gear contact stress was reduced by 6.3%, to 22.3%.
해외 바이오매스 에너지자원 확보를 위한 기초조사 1 -팜 바이오매스

2012년 신재생에너지공급의무화제도 시행으로 국내 목재펠릿 수요가 급증하고 있으나, 현재 우리나라의 목재펠릿 자급률은 10% 수준에 머물러, 급증하는 수요를 충족하기 어려울 것으로 예상된다. 따라서 안정적인 공급과 가격이 보장될 수 있는 새로운 바이오매스의 발굴을 통하여 목재펠릿에 대한 폭발적인 수요를 대체하는 일은 우리뿐만 아니라세계적으로 시급한 과제라 할 수 있다. 본 연구의 분석결과 고체 팜 바이오매스 중 대표적인 EFB (empty fruit bunch)와 MF (mesocarp fiber)의 2012년도 연간 발생량(함수율 10% 기준)이 말레이시아와 인도네시아에서 각각 약 2,800만톤과 2,000만 톤으로, 두 지역에서만 연간 총 4,800만 톤이 발생되는 것으로 추정된다. 연료적 특성에 있어서도 EFB의 발열량이 목재의 90% 수준을 상회하므로 목재펠릿을 대체할 수 있는 우수한 바이오매스 에너지자원이라 할 수 있다. 다만, 높은 회분함량으로 인하여 주택이나 온실의 난방용으로는 부적합하지만 발전용이나 산업용으로는 충분히 사용가능할 것으로 판단된다. RPS (Renewable Portfolio Standard) has increased wood pellet demand dramatically in recent years in Korea where self-supply rate of wood pellet is not more than 10%. However global production capacity of wood pellet is prospected to be unable to meet the global demand after 2020. Therefore it is urgently needed to develop new sustainable biomass energy resources which can replace wood pellet at lower cost. As a result of this study EFB (empty fruit bunch) and MF (mesocarp fiber), the representative solid palm biomass, are estimated to be generated at the rate of 20 and 28 million tons per year (based on 10% moisture content) in Malaysia and Indonesia, respectively in 2012. Total annual generationrate of EFB and MF is estimated as 48 million tons per year only in Malaysia and Indonesia in 2012. With alorific value of over 90% of wood pellet EFB is expected to be a excellent biomass energy resource which canreplace wood pellet. EFB can be utilized as fuel for power generation or industrial purpose. However EFBmay not be a proper fuel for domestic and greenhouse heating because of its high ash content.
