For the purpose of obtaining basic information on the development of lead-free materials, a high density composites (a) W-Cu, (b) W-Sn (c)W-Cu-Sn and (d) W-Cu-Ni were fabricated by the P/M method. The particle size of used metal powders were under 325 mesh, inner size of compaction mould was $\phi8$ mm, and compaction pressure was 400 MPa. A High density composite samples were sintered at a temperature between $140^{\circ}C$ and $1050^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour under Ar atmosphere. The microstructure, phase transformation and physical properties of the sintered samples were investigated. As the results, the highest relative density of 95.86% (10.87 g/$cm^3$) was obtained particularly in the sintered W-Cu-Sn ternary system sample sintered at 450 for 1hr. And, Rockwell hardness (HRB) of 70.0 was obtained in this system.
급냉 연속 주조된 페라이트 스테인레스강 판재의 조직 및 인장성질에 미치는 Cr 함량의 영향

Using the twin-roller type melt-quenching technique, we investigated the effect of Cr content on the microstructure and tensile properties of ferritic stainless steels, whose thickness is 0.5㎜ has been investigated. In this experiment, the three kinds of ferritic stainless steels has been used. The predicted cooling rates of melt-quenched ferritic stainless steels were not changed, even the Cr content increases up, to 25%. The metastable phase of the melt-quenched ferritic stainless steels were changed depending upon the car Cr content. In case of 17% Cr steel, the metastable phase was martensite and in case of 20 and 25% Cr steel, the metastable phase was austenite. After heat treatment, the tensile properties of the melt-quenched stainless steels are better than those of conventional ferritic stainless steels.

In this research, the effect of Sc on the micro structure and mechanical properties of Al-20Si alloy powders and their extruded bar was investigated. The Al-20wt%Si and Al-20wt%Si-0.6wt%Sc powders were produced by gas atomization. The micro structures of the alloy powders and extrude was examined by optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The alloy powders were subsequently canned, degassed and extruded in order to produce the alloy bulk. It was found that the micro structure of the Al-20Si alloy powder was refined and the mechanical properties was significantly improved by the addition of 0.6Sc.
MAO법을 이용한 산화피막처리에서 질산염 전해액성분 첨가에 따른 AZ31합금의 표면코팅 특성

MAO 법을 이용하여 전류밀도 4A/㎠조건에서 3종류의 전해액과 코팅시간에 따라 AZ31 마그네슘 합금을 산화 피막 처리하였다. 코팅시간이 길어짐에 따라 코팅층의 표면형상은 기공이 더욱 커지고, 표면에 균열이 발생하기도 하 였다. 또한 코팅시간이 길어짐에 따라 코팅층의 두께와 경도(HV)값은 증가하였다. AZ31합금의 코팅층 상들은 MgO, Mg<sub>2</sub>SiO<sub>4</sub> 그리고 MgAl<sub>2</sub>O<sub>4</sub> 산화물로 이루어졌다. 산화코팅된 AZ31합금을 5% NaCl 용액에서 168시간동안 염수분무실 험결과 우수한 내식성을 나타냈다. AZ31 Mg alloy were coated by Macro Arc Oxidation(MAO) with 3 types of electrolyte and various coating times at 4A/㎠. The Surface morphology of coatings became lager pores and surface crack initiated as the coating time increased. The thickness and micro-hardness of coatings increased as the coating time increased. also. The phase of coatings on AZ31 alloy consisted of MgO, Mg<sub>2</sub>SiO<sub>4</sub> and MgAl<sub>2</sub>O<sub>4</sub> oxides. The salt spray corrosion resistance of coated AZ31 alloys revealed excellent corrosion resistance in 5% NaCl solution for 168hr.
