We present the results of computer simulation for the steady shear flows of rodlike molecules using nonequi-librium molecular dynamics simulation (NEMD) method. The model particle is a rigid rod composed of lin-early connected 6-sites and the Lennard-Jones 12-6 potential governs interactions between sites in different molecules. The system of rodlike molecules exhibits the change of orientational structure, that is, isotropic-nematic transition at high shear rates. We elucidate the nature of the ordered system developed from an isotro-pic phase by steady shear through an analysis of various quantities: orientational order parameters, orientational pair correlation functions, orientational distribution function, and snapshots of configurations. The effects of temperature and density on the shear rate dependence of orientational structure are described.

A 30-year-old primigravida with gestational age of 25 weeks and 4 days was admitted for emergency cesarean section. She was diagnosed as pre-eclampsia with fetal distress. We anesthetized the patient through the combined spinal-epidural anesthetic technique, and there was no specific event throughout the surgical procedures and in post anesthetic care unit. Subsequently, she complained of unilateral hearing difficulty in the ward and an otolaryngology consultation was obtained. She was diagnosed with left sudden sensorineural hearing loss in full frequency range after an acoustic examination. She received intravenous and local steroid treatments for 4 weeks. She showed 32 dB on pure tone audiometry after 5 months. However, we could not continue follow-up testing on the patient because she stopped visiting the hospital since the last examination. We reported a case of uncommon unilateral sudden sensorineural hearing loss after a combined spinal-epidural anesthesia for emergency cesarean section.

The study was undertaken to analysis takeoff motion and factor influencing to cog max height in flight phase in 3m springboard dive. for this subject participated in the study was 1 male national representive level diving athlete, was compared with "Greg Louganis" world champion in 3m spring board dive. 1. Temporal Total takeoff time was elapsed mean 0.486±0.049sec., of this 73.50±7.141% was in spring board depression with 61.75±8.05% in active push, 1.113 ± 0.0.56sec in hurdle. Depression Range of spring board was mean 66.75±4.66cm. When compared with Miller and Munro(1985), Total takeoff time wasn't difference rarely, but more elapsed in board flexion and active push, less flexion range of spring board. 2. Flexion and extension range of knee Flexion was continue to first 40% point of springboard depression, flexion range was max 120±5.77deg., max. extension of 13O± 14.14deg., 105±5.77deg. in max. springboard flexion, 171.25±7.5Odeg. at just before of board takeoff. When compared with result of Miller and Munro(1985), knee flexion degree was rather larger in springboard depression and touchdown, extension range was significantly larger than that of max depression phase of springboard and larger at Just before takeoff of board. 3. Flexion and extension range of hip Hip motion was extension of 101.25±6.29deg. in touchdown, 32.5O±15.54deg. in extension range, 133.75±17.96 deg. in last takeoff, felxion of 128.75±16.53deg. in board max. depression. when compared with result of Miller and Munro(1985), takeoff posture showed significantly unstable in overflexed trunk to vertical axis, 4. Stride length The stride length showed more length according to more sommersaulting, and more reduction in cog max height with Approach stride length of 120.50±8.42cm and max height of cog of 141.87cm, 5. To get accurate information about the defect from the test signal, NDT engineers should have a good knowledge on forward problems. Such knowledge is usually obtained by a lot of testing experiences. Another way of obtaining such knowledge is to build a database containing lots of defect information and their corresponding signals. However, archiving of raw test data would require a lot of disk space. In this paper, economic way of storing signals is studied by using Fourier descriptor. Instead of saving raw data, Fourier descriptors are saved and this results in a saving in disk space. Of course, the defect signal can be reconstructed from the saved descriptors. By using differential ECT and RFECT signals produced by numerical modeling, the savings in disk space and the similarity of reconstructed signals and original signals are demonstrated. This Fourier descriptor approach could contribute significantly in building differential signal databases.

탐상신호로부터 결함에 대한 정확한 정보를 얻으려면, 검사자는 어떠한 결함에서 어떠한 신호가 발생되는지에 대한 충분한 배경지식이 있어야 하며, 이는 대부분 경험에 의해 얻어진다. 다른 방법으로 그러한 지식을 축적하려면, 여러 결함과 해당 결함신호에 대한 데이터베이스의 구축이 필요하다. 데이터베이스의 구축시 검사신호를 그대로 저장하게 되면 매우 큰 저장공간을 필요로 하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 푸리에 서술자를 이용하여 경제적으로 신호를 저장하는 방법을 연구하였다. 이 방법에서는 신호 대신 푸리에 서술자를 저장하여 저장공간을 줄이며, 저장된 서술자들을 이용하여 원래의 신호를 재생한다. 차동형 와전류신호들을 사용하여 실험한 결과, ASCⅡ 데이터로 실제 신호로부터는 약 85%까지, 그리고 필터링 신호로부터는 57∼65%까지 저장공간을 절약할 수 있었으며, 이 때 재생된 신호는 원래 신호와 매우 유사함을 확인하였다. 이러한 저장법은 차동신호 데이터베이스를 구축할 때, 매우 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것이다. The mean gyration radii, Rg of elongated micelles and solubilizate incorporated micelle of sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS) were measured using angular dissymmetry of the dynamically scattered light. The solubilizates were : benzene, naphthalene and anthracene. The measurements were performed at low NaCl concentration(0.05M) and high NaCl concentration(0.30M) at temperatures, 25°C, 30°C and 40°C. The measured Rg values were also compared with the theoretically derived values on the curves of the angular dissymmetry, (d(θ)) versus the cos θ of the solubilized SDS micelle. The SDS micelles added by NaCl and solubilizate molecules such as aromatic compounds are shown to behave thin rod-like between 228A and 579A in length, and flexible bended rod-like between 621A and 1059A in length, as the temperature goes down form 40°C to 25°C. As a result, the non-rigid SDS micelles transform gradually from sphere via prolate ellipsoid to thin rod-like and flexible bended rod-like micelles as the electrolyte and solubilizate molesules are added and the temperature is lowered.
