        대공간 목구조 건축의 건립 현황과 구조시스템 특성 분석

        In this research, the case of modern wooden structures since 1950 with span of 30m or more was investigated and analyzed the construction status and structural planning characteristics of wooden large space architecture. As a result, wooden large space buildings have built around Asia, North America, and Europe, in which cases of ice skating stadiums with span of 30m to 60m were concentrated. In the case of baseball parks and football stadiums, even a span of about 165m was built in a wooden structure. In addition, it was found that the structural systems used in wooden large space structures were a funicular arch and truss structure, in that cases, funicular arch system consisting of radial arrangements was used in the examples exceeded 150m and the two way truss system was also used in long span wooden structures exceeding 100m. As the truss structure with a tie-rod or the flexure+tension structure was partially investigated, it can be seen that various timber structural systems need to be devised and researched. Also, It was investigated that a technique in which some members of the truss are made of steel or a composite member of steel and timber is also possible to develop

        구조계획 측면에서 본 일본 목구조 교육시설의 구성특성 분석

        In order to figure out the usability of various timber structures in the educational facility, the recent timber structure examples published in the Japanese architectural magazine, 'ShinKenchiku' over the past five years were surveyed. As the results, timber structures were presented in many cases of nursery schools and kindergartens overwhelmingly, and they also used in various school buildings, university facilities, and the roof structure of the school's gymnasium, with intention of having the differentiated design and space features. The examples show that span 6 to 10m is generally used with flexure structure system and flexure+compression structure system added the strut as compression members. In addition concerning stability, it was founded that the struts have an stability effect in the flexure+compression structure system, and flexure structure system examples using semi-rigid joints have open spaces liberally in two-way direction for about 9m span. For large spaces structures with span of 15~20m or more, the various structural system such as suspension structure, truss, flexure+compression, etc. was designed to overcome the material limitations of timbers and to make an design effect in structure system.

        관입형 텐서그리티 구조시스템의 개발 및 공간구축을 위한 구조특성 분석

        In this study, Intersecting Tensegrity System that is integrated solid compression members with tension members was presented. This system is set up by connecting upper and lower compression members of pyramid shape with exterior tension members. In this system, the solid compression members are intersected each other and connected by a tension member in the center. This system is a variation of Tensegrity system, has a improved feature that the system is able to induce prestresses in all of tension members easily by adjusting the distance of a tension member in the center. The proposed system was studied by modeling, and the structural behavior of the system was investigated by mechanical analysis of the model. Furthermore, the features of the structural behavior variations was investigated when the composition elements(total height, size of surface, intersection length, etc.) are changed variously. It was also showed that the system is able to be used as a temporary space structure system with a membrane roof of inverse conical shape.

        학교체육관의 구조계획을 위한 구조시스템 구성요소의 변화와 건축특성의 영향분석

        School gymnasium is a multi-purpose large space building for various events and physical education activities, and is a facility that requires an approach to the desirable structural design, besides mechanical problems of structure against loads. For the integrated structure design concerning the architectural features, the major considerations of gymnasium planning that are the internal and external shape of the gymnasium, the space scale with structure members, the structural efficiency by members weight reduction and openness of the gymnasium space will have to take into account in the structural planning. From this point of view, the several cases of the school gymnasium were investigated and the parametric analyses were performed to the models using the various structural system. The parameters were the composition elements of structure system that are profile of structure, rigidity of member, connection and anchorage and stability. At the result, It was presented that the profile of structure member was the most influential factor to structural efficiency and the effect of the form and space of gymnasium. Also the design informations of structure design having the various feature of form and space were presented for the initial gymnasium planning.

        렘 쿨하스 작품에서 나타나는 구조구성과 구조디자인 수법

        Rem Koolhaas’s works have an intention to present the feature of bigness with structural issues and have shown various different ideas using structures. In this study, therefore, the composition of structure members, scale, arrangement and structural systems were investigated in Rem Koolhaas’s works, and the structure design methods that are related in his main design concepts was presented. Although his works imply an impression structural difficulties, it was investigated that most of structures in examples have comparatively simple arrangement, span and the flow of vertical force in basic. It was also found that the structure design methods: combination of the relation between architectural elements and structural elements, partially irregular arrangement of columns, mega-truss system, variation of rigidity in structural members, formative arrangement of stability members were mainly used in his work’s to present his design intention.

        구조디자인 측면에서 본 트러스의 구성요소와 역학적 거동특성

        The design composition elements and the mechanical behaviors of trusses have been investigated in order to design more various and effective trusses in architectural and structural design. First, trusses were classified into Pratt truss, Howe truss, Warren truss with composition of web members, and the mechanical behaviors of these trusses were explained from the principle of suspension and arch structures. Also, the structural features and architectural design features of the various trusses have been determined by analyzing truss models with a variation of design elements ; composition of web members, number of web panels, chord profile, depth, double chord. This has an object to provide more useful design informations for truss in early planning stage considering various architectural design purposes and structural efficiency.

        건축계획에 있어 인장구조의 활용을 위한 들림형 보구조의 디자인수법

        Beam String Structure(BSS) is a structure system that is composed with beam, strut and string, and the structural capacity of this structure system is enhanced by introducing prestress force in string and controling the stress and deformation of beam. In this study, the design method and the character of composition in BSS were examined for the application to architectural design. At the result, It was examined that the structure capacity of BSS is raised as increasing a rise of beam and a sag of string, while the design methods to make increase a rise or a sag with intention to architectural expression are used. And 1~2 struts are efficient and popular in BSS, but various struts are used with intention to expression. Also, one way, two way and radial type plan arrangements are mainly used in BSS, futhermore it was presented that more crowed arrangements are used for expression.

        효과적인 건축공학 교육방향 설정에 관한 연구

        An architectural engineering education program has been recently changed to competitive and new education program. This change seems to be started from the introduction of the accredited program for engineering education and from the separation with architecture education program. It is required for establishing effective architectural engineering education that opinions of interested person be properly reflected on the education program. Up to date, related researches on the architectural engineering education program are rarely found. In order to address this problem, this paper investigated the status of a series of domestic and abroad education programs and surveyed opinions of related person: professors in architectural engineering department and experts in architectural industries. The research shows that the number of courses related to mathematics and science intends to be decreased and more computer-related classes need to be opened to provide useful tools that can be used to solve various architectural engineering problems. In addition, basic architecture common courses are needed for better understanding on architecture. Furthermore basic and enhanced engineering design courses are sequentially organized for comprehensive engineering education of architectural engineering including structure, mechanics&environment, construction, architectural planning.

        깔라뜨라바 작품에서 나타나는 구조디자인 구성수법

        Santiago Calatrava is an architect who provides very unique formativeness and symbolism using structures for architecture design. So, in this study, the design methods using structures of Calatrava be found by studying about the composed details of structures in his buildings. At the result, the Calatrava’s design patterns using structures could be classified into three types ; Type1 has intended the space formative effects by using variations of profile at some parts(center or end) based on triangulated latticework. Type2 is the formation of big arch for symbolism and spatial architectures. Type3 is the simple flexure system with tapered section, which be used the space formative effects too. Calatrava’s works were composed with mainly compression and flexure structure systems, so they have an intention to make so massive and symbolic forms. And the design characters was found that each the design method have a feature related to natural forms and a densely arranging method leads more dynamic formative effect.
