Stereoscopic three-dimensional display with a fast-response liquid crystal polarization rotator

A stereoscopic three-dimensional (3D) system using a polarization rotator is proposed. The polarization rotator converts the polarizations of images from different eyes in temporal multiplexing. A novel fast nematic liquid crystal mode is also proposed. The new liquid crystal mode has a fast response time and a high contrast, and is thus a good candidate as a polarization rotator. The proposed 3D system uses only passive polarized glasses, which are more convenient, lightweight, and low-cost than what? In addition, the polarization rotator can be applied to current two-dimensional displays and can become 3D-capable displays.

건축구조물 기초로서 셀룰러 기초 매트리스의 설계 및 시공

Cellular Foundation Mattress made of new materials such as high density polyethylene, are not currently use for the foundation of small and medium-sized buildings in Korea. Therefore, they need to be developed and verified based on domestic ground and field conditions. This study presents the basic design and construction method of Cellular Foundation Mattress. Since the foundation reinforcement effect of Cellular Foundation Mattress should be evaluated and verified for soft ground, a performance comparison evaluation was conducted using the Soilbag method, which is commonly used for the foundation of small and medium-sized buildings in Korea. After the mattress reinforcement, the settlement amount decreased by 38.4% compared to the original ground and the bearing capacity increased by 159%, confirming the same ground reinforcement effect and ground stability as the Soilbag method. 국내 중소규모 건축구조물 기초에 적용 사례가 없는 고밀도 폴리에틸렌 신소재 재료로 구성된 셀룰러 기초 매트리스가 건축구조물 기초 공법의 대안으로 정착되기 위해서는 국내 지반 및 현장 조건에 맞게 개량된 공법 개발 및 검증이 필요하다. 본연구를 통해서 셀룰러 기초 매트리스의 기초적인 설계 및 시공 방법을 제시하였다. 셀룰러 기초 매트리스의 기초보강효과는연약지반 대상으로 안정성 평가와 검증이 되어야 하기에 국내 중소규모 건축구조물 기초에 적용 실적이 풍부한 소일백공법과성능 비교 평가를 수행하였다. 매트리스 보강 후 평판재하시험 결과, 원지반과 비교하여 침하량은 38.4% 감소, 지지력은 159% 증가하였으며, 소일백공법과는 동일한 지반보강효과 및 지반안정성을 확인하였다.

This paper aims to explore Satan’s desire and his end as a tragic hero presenting a new point of view for analyzing a character in literary works. Satan, who is a witness and narrator, is an important character in Paradise Lost. There have been various critical responses on Satan in connection with contemporary events and figures. There have been opposing opinions in Satan as a literary character. Satanists emphasize Satan’s heroic features while anti-Satanists stress his selfishness or folly. This is because Satan is the product of Milton’s and readers’ psychology. To analyze Satan’s actions, it is essential to investigate Satan’s psychology. Satan’s rebellion is triggered by the ceremony in which the Son is introduced by the Father as his successor. Thus, this paper explores Satan’s psychology focusing on his desire. Among contemporary critics, René Girard has a very unique opinion about desire. Unlike other critics, Girard argues that the human subject does not really know what to desire and that is why the subject is given over to the paradoxes of mimetic desire. According to Girard, the subject desires the object because the mediator(model) desires the object. The subject, the mediator and the object make the triangle of desire. In the triangle of Satan’s desire, the Son and the human are mediators as well as rivals. The allegorical episode of Sin and Death also reveals Satan’s mimetic desire. Satan parodies the birth of Christ and the Trinity through the allegorical story. With Sin’s help, Satan travels through the chaos, which is the symbolic and maternal place in Paradise Lost. Satan heads toward the new world and God’s symbolic order to pollute Adam and Eve. Girard argues that violence is inherently hidden in the mimetic desire. Satan whose mimetic desire implicates violence causes the loss of Paradise. Satan’s devastating end is inevitable. Satan is a surrogate victim to restore order and he is now the tragic hero.

자살의 광기와 정치적 욕망: 존 던의 『자살론』 읽기

This paper aims to analyze John Donne’s Biathanatos, which has paradoxical and ambivalent elements in the light of contemporary context. In the first place, this prose can be read as revealing madness of Death. During the Renaissance, madness was regarded as connected with God and evil. According to Roy Porter, people believed that they could meet God through good madness and people who were obsessed with bad madness committed suicide. This suggests that Donne’s Biathanatos is an effusion of madness. Donne believed that he could meet God by accomplishing death. Thus he considers suicide as a good way to overcome the fear of death. Donne refutes the traditional idea that suicide is sin for God and Nature. He explains that committing suicide is not so evil because things that we call sin and evil have been done by God. Donne also insists that Christ committed suicide himself, which might seem to be blasphemous at that time. Subversive elements of Biathanatos show the reason why this book was published after his death. Secondly, Biathanatos can be also read as implicating Donne’s political desire. Donne betrays his Faith and becomes an apostate to succeed in life. Donne takes martyrdom as an important theme in Biathanatos. He expresses doubt about the real intention of Catholic martyrs regarding martyrdom as personal madness. Then, in order to flatter James I, Donne writes Pseudo-Martyr, which forces English Catholics to take the Oath of Allegiance to James I. As Arthur Marotti observed, Donne tried to present himself as what he attempted to show. Thus Donne officially adopts a public persona as preacher and Dean while he suppresses his own madness because of his restless desire for worldly success. Consequently this makes Biathanatos ambivalent and paradoxical.

초록우산 인성교육 프로그램 개발 및 효과성 검증

본 연구는 아동이 12가지 인성요소를 내재화하고 생활 속에서 실천할 수 있도록 돕기 위해 초록우산 인성교육 프로그램(12회기)을 개발하고 그 효과성을 검증하는 목적을 갖는다. 초록우산 인성교육은 초록우산 인성교육 프로그램(12회기), 인성교육특강, 인성캠프, 배포용 활동북으로 구성되어 있다. 일선 기관에서 단기간 사용하기에 적절하고 재단의 복지사업 전략방향과 가장 합치되는 4개의 인성요소를 추출하여 4회기용 프로그램으로 상반기에 우선 개발하였고, 아동의 인성변화에 대한 효과성 검증을 위해서는 더욱 많은 회기의 인성교육이 필요하다는 자문에 따라 하반기에 8개의 인성요소에 관한 프로그램을 추가로 개발하여 총 12회기의 인성교육 프로그램개발을 완료하였다. 초록우산 인성교육 프로그램(12회기)을 개발하기 위해 3회의 워크숍, 6회의 공동개발자회의, 5회의 전문가 자문, 10여 회에 걸쳐 간담회 등의 내/외부 회의를 실시하였으며, 이와 같은 과정을 거쳐 세부 활동을 수정보완 하였다. 개발된 초록우산 인성교육 프로그램이 아동에게 적합한지 알아보기 위하여 상.하반기에 걸쳐 시범교육을 실시하였다. 상반기에는 우선 개발된 4회기 프로그램과 인성교육특강을 복지관, 지역아동센터, 초등학교, 어린이박람회에서 시범교육을 실시하였고, 하반기에는 최종적으로 개발된 12회기 프로그램을 초등학교에서 시범적인 교육을 실시하였다. 초록우산 인성교육 프로그램(12회기)의 시범교육을 받은 초등학교 저학년과 고학년 아동을 대상으로 인성요소를 내재화하였는지 효과성을 검증하기 위하여 통제집단 사전사후 조사설계를 이용하여 비교검증한 결과 초록우산 인성교육(12회기)을 이수한 집단이 아무런 교육을 받지 않은 집단보다 5% 유의수준에서 통계적으로 유의미하게 GUCS점수가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 초록우산 인성교육(12회기)을 받은 아이들이 인성요소를 내재화하고 바른인성을 함양한 것으로 나타났다. 초록우산 인성교육 프로그램(4회기)을 진행한 교사들을 대상으로 인성교육 실시 전후 자신의 변화에 대하여 FGI를 진행하고, 그 결과를 내용분석한 결과 인성교육 진행자에게도 변화가 나타났다. 진행자들은 인성교육이 다른 교육과 달리 아이들이 자발적으로 참여하고 일상생활 속에서 실천하는 교육, 교육 내용이 내재화되도록 지속적으로 아동에게 제공되어야 할 교육으로 인식하고 있었다. 또한 인성교육 프로그램은 아동뿐만 아니라 진행자로 하여금 아이들을 대하는 관점과 태도에 있어서 초심을 돌이켜보고, 반성하게 하고, 더욱 성장하고자 하는 욕구를 갖도록 하는 것으로 나타났다. 스스로 아동을 대하는 자세를 점검하고, 더 온화하고 친근하게 아이들을 대하게 되며, 이러한 변화는 대상 아동뿐만 아니라 그 주변 아동의 행동까지 변하게 만들고 전반적인 분위기를 변화시킴으로써 점차 교사와 아동 간의 친밀도는 향상된다고 하였다.

극미세 전자소자에서 일렉트로마이그레이션에 대한 박막배선의 구조 효과

배선의 구조와 절연보호막이 일렉트로마이그레이션(electromigration)에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. Al-1%Si를 배선물질로 하여 여러 가지 형태와 면적을 가지는 배선을 형성하였고 PSG와 TEOS를 절연보호막으로 사용하였다. 수명시간의 비교에서 직선형배선이 선쪽에 변화를 가지는 배선보다 1.5-2배 정도 긴 수명시간을 갖는다. 또한 변화의 면적이 커질수록 그리고 변화의 각이 커질수록 배선의 수명시간은 감소한다. 이것은 선폭의 변화로 인해 전류밀도와 구조가 변화하게 되고 이러한 전류밀도와 구조의 변화는 국부적인 온도구배와전류 크라우딩을 발생시켜서 박막배선의 수명시간을 감소시킨다. 절연보호막효과에서 PSG률 절연보호막으로 사용한 배선이 TEOS를 절연보호막으로 사용한 배선보다 수명시간이 길게 나타났다. 이것은 PSG가 tensile stress를 가지기 때문에 배선에서 발생하는 물질이동을 억제하기 때문이다. Geometry and dielectric passivation effects on the electromigration were investigated. Al-1%Si thin film interconnections with various shapes were fabricated by using a standard photolithography. PSG and TESO were used for dielectric passivation. In comparison of lifetime straight Patterns showed 1.5~2 times longer than patterns which have variation of linewidth. As the variations of area and an91e become larger, the lifetimes of thin film interconnections appear reduced . Geometry with variation of linewidth causes local change of current density in thin film interconnections. which results local temperature divergence and current crowding. It decreases the lifetime of thin film interconnection. In dielectric passivation effects , the lifetime of PSG passivation showed longer lifetime than that of TEOS passivation. It is considered that PSG results tensile stress. which reduces the mass transport in thin film interconnection.

셰익스피어의 역사 서술

This paper aims to examine how Shakespeare describes the history of England in his English history plays. Like his contemporary dramatists, Shakespeare’s writing about England was influenced by the social and political concerns of his age, and bound up with the anxiety about the war with Spain and the controversy over the royal succession during the last years of Elizabeth I. There have been various opinions about whether Shakespeare demonstrates the validity of the Tudor dynasty. Because it seems that Shakespeare takes an ambiguous position, it is not certain that Shakespeare supports the validity of the Tudor dynasty. However, it is indisputable that his history plays include the intention to prevent the failure of politics. Because history was popular subject in the early modern England, the description of history was generally subject to official scrutiny. Particularly, history plays depict the matters with regard to kings, which made the government control the contents of history plays. Readers and spectators in Renaissance England intended to regard history plays as reflecting the present issues such as the succession to the queen and the circumstances at the moment. Apart from the problem about whether Shakespeare had the intention to represent Renaissance England in his history play, it is more important to understand the various voices in the play.
