In this research, we determine the proper number of entrances in the evacuation facilities for civil and military personnel. The current standards on the emergency evacuation facility only sets the number of possible evacuees and the according architectural floor area since the evacuation have been completed. However, other than static standards such as the floor area, there is needs to consider the dynamic standards along with allowable evacuation time such as the number of entrance, staircases and so on. Therefore, we need to consider the number of entrances and their location in order to account for the allowed evacuation time of particular number of people in a set area. The outcome could be contributed to the standards which should contain the dynamic conditions associated with evacuation.

Body movements of humans have emotions and these movements have meanings of ‘Living Spirits’ and ‘Emotions’. Also emotions of humans indicate all body movements which are made within the environment. This study aims at providing new potentials to emotional design research methods not only by understanding the characteristics of visual perception according to body movements and but by investigating correlations between sequence which arise by the visual perception and emotions through experiments. As for the scope and method of this study, the emotional space designs were analyzed through the emotional theory study, SD method was used to evaluate emotions and the movements in the modern village and traditional village with similar elements were compared and analyzed for the empirical study. As a result, first it was confirmed waling hours in the traditional village took more than the modern village and it is thought movements of humans are affected by the visual environments. Second, it was confirmed values of the emotional evaluation were higher in the traditional village than the modern village. Third, according to a result of the correlation analysis between space sequence and emotions, it was closed with negative emotions such as ‘Closed’, and ‘Complicated’ from positive emotional words such as ‘Natural’. ‘Open’, ‘Curious’, etc. as spaces are experienced more through movements in the modern village. On the contrary, the emotional intensity of the positive words such as ‘In Harmony’, ‘Beautiful’ and ‘Warn’ through movements in the traditional village increased as spaces were experienced more. As a result of this study, it was confirmed the time, space and emotions have correlations each other.
폐 PET 기반 활성탄의 CO<sub>2</sub> 및 N<sub>2</sub> 흡착특성

In this study, waste polyethylene terephthalate (PET) based activated carbon (AC) with different textural properties were prepared by adjusting the KOH mixing ratio. The prepared ACs were characterized by SEM, TEM, XRD, XPS and nitrogen adsorption analysis. From the characterization results, ACs showed a good correlation between the KOH mixing ratio and the surface area, pore volume and pore size, but there was no correlation with the surface chemical composition. In addition, the adsorption equilibrium amount of CO<sub>2</sub> and N<sub>2</sub> was measured under different temperature and pressure conditions using a volumetric adsorption apparatus. The adsorption amount of the target gas showed a good correlation with the ultramicropore volume (V<sub><0.9 nm</sub>) rather than the surface area and total pore volume of ACs. The gas adsorption behaviors according to the pore structure were compared and analyzed by adsorption isotherm models, isosteric heat of adsorption, and adsorption energy distribution function (AED). The selectivity for CO<sub>2</sub> calculated using the ideal solution theory (IAST) under flue gas (CO<sub>2</sub> : N<sub>2</sub> = 15 : 85) conditions suggests that the waste PET-based AC can be sufficiently used for the related CO2 adsorptive separation process.

이 연구에서는 은행껍질기반 활성탄으로 음이온성 염료인 메틸오렌지(MO)의 흡착 특성을 조사하였다. 이를 위해 은행껍질과 대표적인 화학활성화제인 수산화칼륨(KOH)을 이용하여 서로 다른 기공 특성을 지닌 다공성 활성탄(GS-1, GS-2, GS-4)을 제조하였다. 제조한 활성탄의 구조적 특성값과 KOH 혼합비율과의 상관관계는 질소 흡/탈착등온선으로 조사하였다. 활성탄에 대한 MO 흡착 평형 실험은 서로 다른 pH (pH 3~11) 및 온도(298~318 K) 조건에서 실시하였으며 그 결과를 Langmuir, Freundlich, Sips 및 온도 의존 Sips식으로 살펴보았다. 그리고 Langmuir 무차원 분리계수값으로 제조한 활성탄의 MO 흡착처리공정의 타당성을 조사하였다. 흡착에너지분포함수(AED)로 비교 분석한 활성탄에 대한 MO의 불균일 흡착 특성은 온도와 활성탄의 구조적 특성과 밀접한 관련이 있었다. 서로 다른 온도에서 수행한 회분식흡착 속도 실험 결과는 외부물질전달, 입자 내 확산 및 활성사이트의 흡착을 고려한 균일표면확산모델(HSDM)로 만족스럽게 설명할 수 있었다. 또한 표면확산계수값을 Arrhenius 플롯으로 나타내어 구한 활성화에너지와 흡착에너지분포 함수값과의 상관관계를 살펴보았다. 그리고 Biot 수를 이용하여 제조한 활성탄에 대한 MO의 흡착 공정 메커니즘을 평가하였다. In this study, we investigated the adsorption characteristics of methyl orange (MO), an anionic dye, on ginkgo shell-based activated carbon (AC). For this purpose, ACs (GS-1, GS-2, and GS-4) with different textural properties were prepared using ginkgo shells and potassium hydroxide (KOH), a representative chemical activating agent. The correlation between the textural characteristics of AC prepared and the mixing ratio of KOH was investigated using nitrogen adsorption/desorption isotherms. The MO adsorption equilibrium experiment on the prepared ACs was conducted under different pH (pH 3~11) and temperature (298~318 K) conditions, and the results were investigated by Langmuir, Freundlich, Sips and temperature-dependent Sips equations. The feasibility of the MO adsorption treatment process of the prepared AC was also investigated using the dimensionless Langmuir separation factor. The heterogeneous adsorption properties of MO for the prepared AC examined using the adsorption energy distribution function (AED) were closely related to the system temperature and textural characteristics of AC. The kinetic results of the batch adsorption performed at different temperatures can be satisfactorily explained by the homogeneous surface diffusion model (HSDM), which takes into account the external mass transfer, intraparticle diffusion, and active site adsorption. The relationship between the activation energy value obtained by the Arrhenius plot and the adsorption energy distribution function value was also investigated. In addition, the adsorption process mechanism of MO on the prepared AC was evaluated using Biot number.
급성 증상이 있는 폐색전증 환자에서 심부정맥 혈전증의 유병률과 임상적 중요성

Objective: The aims of this study were to determine the prevalence of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and assess the association of concomitant DVT and unfavorable outcomes in patients with acute symptomatic pulmonary embolism (PE). Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of patients with acute symptomatic PE by a computed tomography angiography. Study patients were divided into two groups, including unfavorable and favorable outcome groups. Baseline characteristics and radiologic findings were compared between the two groups. Then, binary logistic regression analysis using the unfavorable outcome as a dependent variable was performed to assess whether concomitant DVT was associated with unfavorable outcomes. Results: Of the 128 patients, 67.2% (86 of 128) had concomitant DVT, and 20.3% (26 of 128) had an unfavorable outcome. The median age was 75.0 years (interquartile range, 63.0-82.0 years), and 76 (59.4%) patients were female. Concomitant DVT and proximal DVT were associated with unfavorable outcomes (P<0.05). In multivariate analysis, proximal DVT (adjusted odds ratio, 7.03; 95% confidence interval, 1.01-49.12) was an independent risk factor of unfavorable outcome. Conclusion: In patients with acute symptomatic PE, about two-thirds of patients had DVT. This study suggests that proximal DVT is significantly associated with unfavorable outcomes.

Some carnivorous gastropods have heat stable tetramine toxins in their salivary glands. This toxin is an autonomic ganglionic blocking agent that enables them to catch the prey easily by paralyzing their targets. Acute tetramine toxin poisoning in humans from eating whelks has been well described based on numerous cases, but is rare in Korea. Symptoms of tetramine poisoning include eyeball pain, blurred vision, headache, dizziness, muscular twitching, tingling of hands and feet, weakness, paralysis and sometimes collapse. Gastrointestinal symptoms, such as abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting can also occur. However, intoxication is self-limiting and patients will usually recover in about 24 hours. Herein, we report 2 cases of tetramine poisoning after ingestion of Buccinum striatissinum as meat and soup.
