The sources of the pollution on a river are divided into two classes, one the point source and the other non-point source. In raining, especially, the non-point source discharged from paddy, residential area, road ${\cdots}$ etc have correlations with the land use. This study was carried out to find out the model to estimate the quality of water in a river according to the land use. Land use data (Pungse-Myeoun and Kwangduk-Myeoun in Chonan) were produced from Landsat TM (Thematic Mapper) and topographic map. Total nitrogen(TN) and total phosphorus(TP) general indices for the degree of pollution in river were measured during 11 months. Correlations between two variables(Land use and Pollutants(TN, TP)) were explained by the regression coefficient. As a result of this study, we found that among the five types of land use, the residential area, store area and paddy have significant effects upon the quality of water in a river. The results of this study will be applied to pre-estimate the degree of pollution in river broadly and to offer basic data in establishing the land use plan and the concept on the conservation of the river in rural area.

목적: 대퇴 경부 골절에서 큰 대퇴 골두를 이용한 인공 고관절 전 치환술과 이극성 반 치환술 군의 초기 추시 결과를 비교 조사하였다. 대상 및 방법: 2004년 2월에서 2007년 6월까지 전위성 관절 내 대퇴 경부 골절 환자 169명을 대상으로 하였다. 89예는 이극성 반 치환술을, 80예는 고관절 전 치환술을 시행하였다. 평균 추시 기간은 36개월(18-52)이었다. 임상적인 결과와 수술 후 골 용해, 탈구, 이완, 골절, 탈구 등의 합병증에 대하여 최근 방사선 사진을 바탕으로 면밀히 관찰하였다. 결과: 평균 수술 시간은 이극성 반 치환술 군에서 유의하게 짧았다. 동통, 운동성, 보행 능력은 이극성 반 치환군보다 전치환군에서 좋았다. 수술 후 초기에 환자의 고관절에 운동 제한을 두지 않은 상태에서도 탈구의 예는 없었다. 결론: 상기 소견으로 큰 대퇴 골두를 이용한 고관절 전 치환술은 이극성 반 치환술보다 우수한 결과를 보여 대퇴골 경부 골절 환자의 치료에 권장된다. Purpose: To compare the short-term clinical outcomes of total hip arthroplasty (THA) with a large diameter femoral head (36 ㎜) and bipolar hemiarthroplasty (BA) in physiologically active elderly patients with femoral neck fractures. Materials and Methods: This non-concurrent clinical trial included 169 patients with femoral neck fractures, who had been treated with prosthetic replacement from February 2004 and June 2007. Eighty-nine and 80 cases underwent BA and THA, respectively. The mean follow-up period was 36 months (18-52). The clinical outcomes were analyzed, and the latest follow-up radiographs were assessed to determine the number of complications. Results: The mean operation time was longer in the THA group. The pain, mobility, and walking ability factors were better in the THA group than in the BA group. There was no limitation in the range of motion in the early post-operative period and no dislocations were encountered in either group. Conclusion: THA with a large diameter femoral head is recommended for the management of patients with femoral neck fractures.
회전근 개 파열의 크기 및 봉합 방법에 따른 초음파를 이용한 추적검사의 유용성

Purpose: This study was designed to evaluate the clinical usefulness of serial ultrasonography (USG) after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair and to assess the re-tear rate and the re-tear time according to the tear sizes and the repair method. Materials and Methods: Between January 2008 and June 2008, 52 patients were treated with arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, Of the 52 patients, 29 patients that had undergone more than six months follow-up underwent preoperative USG examinations and subsequent arthroscopic examinations. MRI and USG findings were compared with intraoperative results of arthroscopic examinations. The postoperative integrity of the rotator cuff was observed using serial USG examination performed postoperatively at two weeks, six weeks, three months, and six months. Results: Small to medium rotator cuff tear were identified in 10 patients where the double pulley suture bridge (DPSB) technique was performed; the re-tear rate was 20%. For 19 patients with large to massive rotator cuff tears, the re-tear rates was 100% for six patients who had undergone tendon to tendon (TT) repair, the re-tear rate was 50% for two patients who had undergone tendon to tendon and bone to tendon (TTBT) repair and the re-tear rate was 55% for11 patients where the DPSB technique was performed. Re-tear rates according to follow-up periods were 7% from two to six weeks, 66% from six weeks to three months and 27% from three to six months postoperatively. Conclusion: Serial USG examinations after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair were useful to assess the re-tear rate and the re-tear time. In addition, USG examination were useful for treatment planning during postoperative rehabilitation. 목적: 관절경적 회전근 개 봉합술 후 주기적 초음파 추적검사의 임상적 유용성과 회전근 개 파열크기 및 봉합방법에 따른 재파열의 빈도 및 시기를 밝히고자 한다. 대상 및 방법: 2008년 1월부터 6월까지 본원 정형외과에 내원하여 회전근 개 파열로 관절경적 치료를 시행한 환자 52명 중 6개월 이상 추시 관찰한 29명을 대상으로 초음파 검사를 시행한 후 관절경적 시술을 이용하여 비교하였으며, 수술 후 2주, 6주, 3개월 및 6개월에 회전근 개의 건재 상태를 초음파를 이용하여 관찰하였다. 결과: 전층 회전근 개 파열 중 소 및 중 파열은 10예로, 이중 활차 교량 봉합술(double pully suture bridge technique, DPSB)을 시행하였으며 2예(20%)에서 재파열(retear) 소견을 확인할 수 있었으며, 대 및 광범위 파열은 19예로, 건-건 봉합술을 시행한 6예 모두(100%)에서, 건-건 봉합술 및 골-건 봉합술을 시행한 2예 중 1예(50%)에서, 이중 활차교량 봉합술을 시행한 11예 중 6예(55%)에서 재파열 소견을 확인할 수 있었다. 추시 관찰의 시기에 따른 재파열은 수술 후 2주에서 6주 사이에 1예(7%), 6주에서 3개월 사이에 10예(66%), 3개월에서 6개월 사이에 4예(27%)가 관찰되었다. 결론: 관절경적 회전근 개 봉합술 후 주기적 초음파 추적검사는 재파열 유무 및 재파열의 시기를 확인하는데 유용하며, 술 후 재활치료의 지침을 설정하는데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 생각한다.
분극저항에 의한 온라인 부식속도 측정 시스템에 관한 연구

The linear polarization resistance method is one of the widely used techniques for the corrosion rate monitoring in the water circulating systems of plants. The measurement is simple and rapid, so that a continuous on-line monitoring is possible without any shutdown of plants. A 2-electrode Polarization corrosion rate measurement system was installed in a laboratory using a data acquisition board and PC. The signal processing parameters were optimized for the accurate corrosion rate measurement, and the polarization resistance was compensated with the solution resistance measured by the high frequency sine wave signal of an output channel. The precision of corrosion rate data was greatly improved by removing the initial noisesignals on measuring the polarization resistance.

The iron oxide particles could be resulted from the corrosion of the circulating water system of a power plant. Because it may be one of the trouble materials which affect the power generation efficiency due to the deposition on steam generator tube and turbine blade, the continuous observation of its concentration is very important. The laser induced break-down detection (LIBD) technology was applied to monitor continuously the concentration of corrosion products with the detection limit of ppb level. The measurement system consists of a Nd:YAG pulsed laser, a polarizing beam splitter, a flow-type sample cell, an acoustic emission sensor, a high speed data acquisition board, a personal computer, etc.. The performance test results confirmed that this technology can be effective to monitor the corrosion product concentration of the circulating water system of a power plant.

In this stydy, experimental research was carried out the hysteretic behavior of reinforced concrete haunched beams such as application with or without haunched and slab, and shear reinforced ratio. Test results showed that test specimens(FTG-i-1 Series, FTH-i-1 Series) was increased respectively the maximum load carrying capacity by positive 11%, negative 25% and the energy dissipation capacity by positive 1.08~1.78, negative 1.12~1.74 times in comparison with the standard specimens(FTG-0-1, FTH-0-1). And the specimens(FTG-i-1 Series, FTH-i-1 Series) showed stable hysteresis behavior.

The effect of the cattle feces affecting chicks growing added to plant protein feeds. J. K. Lee K. S. Kim (1) The experiment has been designed to study feeding chicks on the dry cattle feces only instead of animal protein supplements. The experiment has shown that feeding on dry cattle feces can increase the body weight, and they have economical efficiency in feeding. (2) 20 chicks have been divided into 2-groups in the bamboo-floored-battery: the experimental soup has 10 chicks feed on 5% dry cattle faces, and the other one is the control group. The chicks of the experiment group have been fed on only 5% dry cattle feces and plant protein feeds, and the chicks of the control group have been fed on plant protein feeds and animal protein feeds. The both groups have been fed daily on dry mash and sufficient white clover. (3) The ration is composed as follows: (4) Individual chicks weight and its feed consumption lave been recorded daily for two weeks. (5) Considerations of the experiment result.
