        스마트 폰 등 이동형 멀티미디어 센서의 보급, 멀티미디어 검색이 가능한 검색엔진의 진화는 인터넷 이용자가 효율적으로 원하는 정보를 쉽게 찾도록 함으로써 정보 교환을 촉진하는 효과가 있으나, 동시에 검색 엔진의 고도화는 문자 중심 검색의 정보의 과부하의 한계를 벗어나 개인 신상을 보다 자세하고 정확하게 판독할 수 있게 함으로써 SNS 이용자의 개인정보 누출 위험을 증가시키고 있 다. SNS들은 이러한 추세에 대응하여 잇달아 정보 통제 요소를 도입하고 있으나 정보 통제 요소들이 효과적으로 SNS 이용자들의 개인정보 누출 위험 인지를 즐이 고, SNS를 통한 정보 공유 의도를 늘릴 수 있을지에 대한 검증이 이루어지지 못했다. 본 연구에서는 이미지 검색이 허용된 상황에서 SNS의 정보통제 요소의 효과를 검증하고자 시도하였다.

        매체 풍요도, 사회적 존재감 및 생활 만족도가 상대적 박탈감을 통해 SNS 이용자의 이용 지속 의도 또는 이탈 의도에 미치는 영향

        Purpose – This study aims to empirically verify the impact of media richness, social presence, and prior life satisfaction on various continual usage or withdrawal behaviors of SNS users via both a positive path of satisfaction and a negative path of relative deprivation. By identifying these causal paths, we observe dynamic interactions of SNS user psychology in a balanced view, and provide some implications about design principles for SNS providers. Research design, data, and methodology – We developed 16 hypothesis based on media richness theory, social presence theory, social comparison theory, the literature about relative deprivation, and the literature about the various reactions of IS users. The rich SNS media, social presence recognition among peer SNS users, and prior life satisfaction could generate positive experience, attitude, and virtuous behavioral intentions among SNS users. At the same time, rich media, low social presence, and low prior life satisfaction could generate relative deprivation and could increase withdrawal behavioral intentions such as refusal to provide information, misrepresentation of information, and removal of uploaded information in SNS. Scenario surveys were conducted to collect data from potential SNS users. Data from 357 surveys were collected and analyzed through a PLS algorithm to test the hypotheses. Results – Media richness, social presence, and prior life satisfaction could significantly increase perceived enjoyment, satisfaction, and behavioral intention of continual usage and knowledge sharing. They also could significantly decrease refusal and misrepresentation intention. Relative deprivation is significantly decreased only by prior life satisfaction. Relative deprivation could not significantly decrease satisfaction, but it could significantly increase misrepresentation and removal intention, which could be regarded as information distortion intention. Conclusions – SNS providers should focus on developing rich media and social presence support because these two variables could impact the positive experiences of SNS users. Moreover, the positive experiences could heavily influence SNS user behavior. Some management is needed to prevent relative deprivation and its consequences of misrepresentation and removal intention. SNS providers should prevent SNS users from excessive image misrepresentation and removal as this information distortion could be the source of relative deprivation.

      • The Effect of News Recommendation Mechanisms by Editors and Audiences on News Audience Reactions in Online Portals

        Online portals had recently started to provide news contents to the public at their own news section in portal’s initial page. The news contents had been produced by the media, and it had been collected, selected, edited and sometimes distorted by the news recommendation mechanisms of online portals. This study had focused on such trends as the deployment of news contents provision by portals, the empowerment of the portals in news contents delivery process, and the raising issues about the possible invasion to the public responsibility of media by portals. But the prior studies had not directly conduct this issue. They merely introduces the trends, the possible side effects and the graphical design of news section in portals. To escape from the side effects of this movements, this study had challenge to design the news recommendation mechanisms for providing more valuable news contents to the audiences than the incumbent time-priority news exposure mechanism. Prior studies had been ambiguously define the news values and had construct the news values by using the news criteria by editors in media. We tried to summarise and classify each element in the perspectives of both editors and audiences, who are the essential judgers of the news values, and conceptualized the news values as ‘the news which could reflect the world event sufficiently and which could response the needs of audiences for perform their own tasks’ by using the concept of representativeness in news value in the representative information heuristic processing model. Following this concept, The representative news in editors’ perspective had been operationalized as the major news which had many related news and the other in audiences’ perspective had been operationalized as the news which had much hit and reference score made by the peer audiences. And then we adopt the knowledge adoption model to explain the effect of these news recommendation mechanisms on the perceived overall news quality, trust on portal, perceived usefulness of overall news, satisfaction with portal’s news recommendation service and then on the loyalty, continuance usage intention and positive word-of-mouth intention on portal. We conducted a scenario survey in order to validate our research model. We collected the valid data from 357 voluntary participants who had the experience using the portal service, but had no experience uising the news recommendation mechanisms in portals. The subject had been allocated in three groups and had exposed such three different types of news recommendation mechanisms as 1) the time-priority news exposure mechanism (control group), 2) the reference-score-based news recommendation mechanism (a single treatment group), and 3) the major-news-priority exposure mechanism sorting by the reference scores made by peer audiences (the mixed treatment group). The data had been analized by the MANOVA and PLS method. MANOVA results indicate that perceived information quality and trust had significant differences by groups, that the difference between group 1 and 3 were significant, but the difference between group 1 and 3 and between group 2 and 3 were not significant. These results indicate that the only reference- score-based news recommendation mechanism could not be enough to provide the more valuable news than the incumbent time-priority news exposure mechanism and that the mixed methodology for news recommendation mechanisms could be beneficial to do that. And we also proceed the structured equation model analysis by using PLS algorithm. The tests of the measurement model confirm that our data set has appropriate discriminant and convergent validity. The results of testing the structural model show that the perceived overall news quality and trust on portal could significantly affect on the perceived usefulness of overall news and satisfaction with portal’s news recommendation service, and then these changes significantly affect on the loyalty, continuance usage intention and positive word-of-mouth intention on portal. Our findings are overall consistent with the previous literature. Contrary to our expectations, the reference-score-based news recommendation mechanism could not significantly affect on the dependent variables. Inducing the post interview to the participants, this result may be due to the facts that news audiences had the various needs for news consumption, the news recommendation results by the reference- score-based news recommendation mechanism had been skewed to the sports and entertainment news categories, and the news recommendation and explanation by the experts could be more benefitial to perform the tasks in some cases of news consumption. This study would contributions to identify the role of IS in media, to delicately conceptualize the news value in the balanced views both from editors and audiences, and to empirically validate the benefits of news recommendation mechanisms of both knowledge inventors and knowledge broker in academy. For practice, the results of this study to make more beneficial news recommendation mechanisms would motivate portals to design news recommendation mechanisms for attracting portal users.

        심리적 계약 위반이 OS이용자의 배신 행동에 미치는 영향: 윈도우 XP 기술적 지원서비스 중단 사례

        Technical support of Window XP ended in March, 8, 2014, and it makes OS(Operating System) users fall in a state of confusion. Sudden decision making of OS upgrade and replacement is not a simple problem. Firms need to change the long term capacity plan in enterprise IS management, but they are pressed for time and cost to complete it. Individuals can not help selecting the second best plan, because the following OSs of Window XP are below expectations in performances, new PC sales as the opportunities of OS upgrade decrease, and the potential risk of OS technical support ending had not announced to OS users at the point of purchase. Microsoft as the OS vendors had not presented precaution or remedy for this confusion. Rather, Microsoft announced that the technical support of the other following OSs of Wndow XP such as Window 7 would ended in two years. This conflict between OS vendor and OS users could not happen in one time, but could recur in recent future. Although studies on the ways of OS user protection policy would be needed to escape from this conflict, few prior studies had conducted this issue. This study had challenge to cautiously investigate in such OS user’s reactions as the confirmation with OS user’s expectation in the point of purchase, three types of justice perception on the treatment of OS vendor, psychological contract violation, satisfaction and the other betrayal behavioral intention in the case of Window XP technical support ending. By adopting the justice perception on this research, and by empirically validating the impact on OS user’s reactions, I could suggest the direction of establishing OS user protection policy of OS vendor. Based on the expectation-confirmation theory, the theory of justice, literatures about psychological contract violation, and studies about consumer betrayal behaviors in the perspective of Herzberg(1968)’s dual factor theory, I developed the research model and hypothesis. Expectation-confirmation theory explain that consumers had expectation on the performance of product in the point of sale, and they could satisfied with their purchase behaviors, when the expectation could have confirmed in the point of consumption. The theory of justice in social exchange argues that treatee could be willing to accept the treatment by treater when the three types of justice as distributive, procedural, and interactional justice could be established in treatment. Literatures about psychological contract violation in human behaviors explains that contracter in a side could have the implied contract (also called ‘psychological contract’) which the contracter in the other side would sincerely execute the contract, and that they are willing to do vengeance behaviors when their contract had unfairly been broken. When the psychological contract of consumers had been broken, consumers feel distrust with the vendors and are willing to decrease such beneficial attitude and behavior as satisfaction, loyalty and repurchase intention. At the same time, consumers feel betrayal and are willing to increase such retributive attitude and behavior as negative word-of-mouth, complain to the vendors, complain to the third parties for consumer protection. We conducted a scenario survey in order to validate our research model at March, 2013, when is the point of news released firstly and when is the point of one year before the acture Window XP technical support ending. We collected the valid data from 238 voluntary participants who are the OS users but had not yet exposed the news of Window OSs technical support ending schedule. The subject had been allocated into two groups and one of two groups had been exposed this news. The data had been analyzed by the MANOVA and PLS.       • 동향 : 뉴질랜드 통신서비스 시장 최근 동향

        뉴질랜드의 통신시장 규모는 2004년 67억 달러에서 9% 성장하여 2005년에는 73억달러에 달하고 있으며, 2006년과 2007년에도 5%~6%대의 성장세를 지속할 것으로 보인다. 이에 따라 통신시장 매출 성장율 또한 전년대비 3% 증가한 것으로 추정된다. 초고속인터넷과 무선통신 서비스 시장에서 각각 2005년 중 8%와 13%의 상당한 성장세를 보인 것과는 대조적으로 유선 통신 시장은 전년대비 -5% 성장하였다. TelstraClear의 국내 시장에서의 적극적 영업 활동 계획이 재검토됨에 따라 2006년에는 여타 사업자들에 의해 시장에서 보다 적극적인 영업활동이 기대되고 있다. 2006년 뉴질랜드 통신시장 동향으로 특기할만한 점은 주로 유선 통신 시장과 브로드밴드 시장에서 NGNs으로의 이행이 견조하게 이루어지고 있다는 점이다. 2003~2005년 사이 통신사업자들은 기존의 유선 통신 시장에 대한 경쟁 우위를 확보하기 위한 수단으로 이동 통신 기술 이용을 활성화 하였다. 이에 대응하여 유선통신시장에서는 2005년 망 구조를 NGNs으로 진화시킬 계획을 밝힌 바 있으며, 2007년 첫 이용자가 NGNs으로 전이함을 시작으로 2012년에는 뉴질랜드의 전체 170만 가입자를 모두 NGNs으로 이행한다는 계획을 수립한 상황이다. 그러나, 현재 비교적 낮은 수준에 머무르고 있는 브로드밴드 보급률을 고려할 때 LLU 도입 등 정책적 지원방안이 강구되지 않는다면 브로드밴드 보급률은 2006년~2007년에도 서서히 상승할 전망이다.

        2014년 3월 8일에 윈도우 XP 지원 서비스의 중단에 따라 많은 OS 이용자들이 혼란에 빠져 있다. 원도우 XP를 교체하는 데는 단순히 도입만의 문제가 아니라 기업들은 장기간에 걸친 가용성 확보 계획을 조정하 여야 하므로 기간이 부족하며, 개인들은 후속 OS의 만족스럽지 않은 성능, 신규 PC 판매 저조 및 이러한 잠재적 위협에 대한 사전 고지 미흡 등으로 인해 불만을 토로하고 있는 상황이다. 더욱이 이러한 문제가 일회성이 아니라 향후에도 재발될 가능성이 크다는 측면에서 OS 이용자 보호 대책 수립을 위한 연구가 필요함에도 이에 대한 연구는 미미한 상황이다. 본 연구에서는 기대-확신 이론(Expectation-confirmation theory), 정의 이론(The theory of justice), 심리적 계약 위반(psychological contract violation), 소비자의 배신 행동(consumer betrayal behavior)에 대한 선행연구를 바탕으로 이번 사태로 인해 윈도우 XP 이용자들이 인지된 공정성에 어떠한 변화를 보이고 있는지, 이러한 변화가 OS 이용자들의 인지된 심리적 계약 위반과 배신감에 영향을 미치고 있는지, 향후 배신 행동 등 부정적 행동에 영향을 미치고 있는지에 대해 실제적으로 검증함은 물론, 향후 OS의 이용자에 대한 이용 대책이 어떠한 원칙에 따라 수립되어야 하는지에 대한 연구를 진행하고자 한다. 본 연구의 진행을 통해 MS 등 OS 판매자들의 OS 이용자들에 대한 보호 대책 방안 마련과 OS 소비자 관계 강화에 기여할 수 있을 것이라 판단한다.
