        양수염색체 검사에서 경험한 변이형 염색체 4 Cases

        Chromosomes that karyotyped in amniocentesis show various chromosome morphology and banding patterns because of culture state, media, hypotonic treatment intensity, band staining condition and individual variation etc. It is crucial that individual chromosomes were distinguished normal variation from abnormality because of different interpretation of fetus state. We experienced 4 cases that chromosomes showed different rmrphology or banding pattern from nonnal variant chromosomes. In Case I, chromosomes 22 that looked as add(22p) in amniotic fluid was 22pss and that 22pss was maternal origin In case 2, chromosome 19 looked add(19q) but that was maternal origin and mother``s chromosomes showed 1 banding variation chromosomes 9 of case 3 looked add(9q) but that was paternal origin and father``s chromosomes showed ~ banding variation also. In case 4, chromosomes 21 was 21p-and the shortness of p arm of chromosomes 21 was originated from mother. Consequently, all 4 cases were thought to be nonnal variant after parent``s karyotype. In armiotic fluid karyotyping, irregular chromosomes those looked different from nonnal variant chromosomes might be discriminated between variant and abnonnal chromosomes by parental blood karyotyping or other methods, Besides routine reference investigation, other methods, such as F1SH, PcR, CGH or other banding techniques may be introduced exact interpretation or karyotyping in amniotic fluid chromosomes analysis.

        1년간의 Allergy MAST의 성적보고

        It is important to find a allergen in allergic disease, Allergy MAST( CLA, USA) is known as useful allergen-screening test We investigated the positive rate of Total IgE and frequency of specific allergen from July, 1997 to June, 1m3 for 3m patient sera using Inhalant and Food-MAST test The positive rate of Total IgE was 50%(198/393). In September and October, The positive rate of Total IgE was 81.8% and 91.9% respectively. In April, the positive rate was 70%. The positive rate of Total IgE was relatively high in autumn and spring. The positive rate of mite-farinae and mite-pteronyssinus allergen in mite group was 16.020.,-6 and 15.14% respectively. Mite allergen showed relatively highest positive rate. House dust allergen showed 6.34% positive rate. In animal allergens, Dog allergen(5.11%) showed higher positive rate than cat allergen. In food allergens, Cow``s milkJ5.63%) and crab(4.23%) showed relatively high positive rate. Mugwort(3.87%) and rye(2.46%) showed relatively high positive rate in weed allergens. Among 1ffi Total-IgE positive sera, the rate of absence of specific allergen was 54%(l07/1ffi). The cause of no-specific allergen detection was supposed that detected-IgE was not allergy-specific IgE or other allergen existed but not in the combination of specific allergen of Inha1ant and Food MAST Kit.

        신경교 성상세포에서 쥬니퍼오일에 의한 세포자멸사의 억제 효과

        In previous studies, heat shock has been reported to induce the apoptosis or programmed cell death through the activation of caspase-3. 1 investigated the effect of juniper pure essential oil on the heat shock-induced apoptosis in human astrocyte cell line CCF-STTGI. Treatment of the astrocytes with heat shock markedly induced apoptotic cell death. However, pretreatment of the astrocytes with juniper oil ingibited the heat shock-induced apoptosis. To determine whether juniper inhibits the heat shock-induced activation of these apoptotic proteases, activation of CPP32 was assessed by Western blotting. Consistent with flow cytometry. DNA fragmentation and giemsa staining, heat shock-induced activation of CPP32 was blocked by juniper oil. Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP), cysteine protease substrates were fragmented as a consequence of apoptosis by heat shock. Juniper oil inhibited the PARP fragmentation. This juniper oil also inhibited the heat shock-induced activation of caspase-3. These results suggest that juniper oil may modulate the apoptosis through the activation of the interleukin-1-converting enzyme-like protease.
