Drug therapy for rheumatoid arthritis must be maintained constant1y and for the whole life but is apt to induce adverse effects in the gastrointestinal or renal system. Therefore, newer methods are trying to reduce adverse effects. Thirty-two female rats separated into seven groups depending on the therapy or Freund’s adjuvant applied: the Normal control group (n=8) received nothing, Positive control group(n=8) only received adjuvant, MC15 group(n=8) received microcurrent with 15μ:A, MC30 group(n=8) received rrucrocurrent with 30μA. πle physical and hemat이ogical changes were evaluated in the groups with microcurrent at 15μA for 15 rrunutes and 30μA for 15 minutes. The summarized results follow. 1. Swelling of forepaw and hindpaw was significant1y reduced in MC15 and MC30. 2. Arthritis indices in the MC15 and MC30 group were significantly reduced compared to those in the PCG group. 3.Increases in leukocyte and C-reactive protein concentrations by adjuvant induced rheumatoid arthritis were significant1y attenuated by the microcurrent therapy. The change of swelling, arthritis index, gross feature to the naked eye, and hemat이ogical findings were significant1y improved in all groups.

Therefor, newer methods are paid attention to reduce adverse effects. The thirty-two rat female separated into seven groups depending on the therapy or Freund's adjuvant applied: Normal group(n=8) not received anything, Positive control group(n=8) only received adjuvant, USC group(n=8) received continuous US, USP group(n=8) received pulsed US. The physical and radiological findings by thermal and non-thermal effects of ultrasound were evaluated in groups with continuous mode at 1 MHz, $0.5\;W/cm^2$ for 6 minutes and with pulsed mode (duty cycle 1:9) at 1 MHz, $0.5\;W/cm^2$ for 6 minutes. The result summarized followings. 1. Swelling of forepaw and hindpaw was significantly reduced in USP. 2. Arthritis indices in USP group were significantly reduced than those in PCG. 3. In naked eye and radiologic findings, swelling was significantly prevented in USP group but not in PCG. The change of swelling, arthritis index, gross feature in naked eye, radiologic finding were significantly improved in all groups except for USC group, taking care for using its continuous mode.
PNF와 웨이트 트레이닝 복합훈련이 대학생의 유연성, 근력과 순발력에 미치는 영향

This study was to investigate whether 1 trial PNF exercise effects on the flexibility, muscular strength, and power, and whether the combination of 8 weeks PNF and weight training effects on the flexibility, muscular strength, and power. Twenty two volunteers agreed to participate and were placed in 2 groups: experimental group(PNF and weight training, n=11, mean age=20.73±1.20) and control group(static stretching and weight training, n=11, 20.91±1.70). The subjects who joined this study were asked to take the test of flexibility, muscular strength, and power before the program, after 1 trial PNF, or 1 trail static stretching, and 8 weeks after the program. In order to compare two groups, mean and standard deviation were calculated and ANCOVA were used. After the treatment of 1 trial PNF or static stretching, experimental group only showed better flexibility than control group, but not significantly on muscular strength and power. However, after 8 weeks exercise program, the experimental group was significantly better than the control group on flexibility, muscular strength and power. These results indicate that PNF exercise, as a supplemental exercise, may be useful for increasing the flexibility, muscular strength and power during combined training.
