Microdrill machining is widely applied in various industries where structural design and material properties of the microdrill play a critical role during the machining. A composite microdrill composed of WC and polycrystalline diamond combines the wear resistance, toughness, and hardness properties of the cutting tool. However, composite microdrills are fabricated through complex processes which make them prone to geometrical errors. Hence, axial straightness error of microdrills was investigated in this study as a geometrical error. A computer vision algorithm was specifically developed for measuring the axial straightness error of the microdrill. Subsequently, the ability of the developed technique to perform precise and accurate measurement of tool geometrical errors was evaluated in this study.

$(Mg_{0.93}Ca_{0.07})TiO_3$ 세라믹스의 소결 및 마이크로파 유전특성에 미치는 $B_2O_3$의 영향

The effects of B2O3 addition on the sintering behavior and th microwave dielectric properties of $(Mg_{0.93}Ca_{0.07})TiO_3$ ceramics were investigated. By addition of $B_2O_3$, increases the density of the ceramics increases and grain growth enhances, It was densified to over 94% of $(Mg_{0.93}Ca_{0.07})TiO_3$ theoretical density by the addition of 0.15-1.0wt% B2O3 and stable microwave dielectric properties observed by the addition of 0.2-0.4wt% $B_2O_3.\;(Mg_{0.93}Ca_{0.07})TiO_3$ ceramics sintered at $1200^{\circ}C$ exhibits maximum dielectric constants of 24-25 quality factor($Q{\times}f$) of more than 70000 and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency of $0\;ppm/^{\circ}C$ by adding of 0.15-0.4wt% $B_2O_3$.

High speed ball end milling is attracting interest in the aerospace industry for the machining of complex 31) airfoil surfaces in nickel based superalloys, Experimental work is detailed on the effect of cutter orientation on tool life, cutting forces, chip formation, specific force and workpiece surface roughness, when high speed ball end milling nickel based supperalloy(lnconel 718). Dry cutting was performed using 8min diameter solid carbide cutters coated with either TiA1N or CrN for the workpiece mounted at an angle of 45˚ from the cutter axis. A horizontal downwards cutting orientation provided the best tool life with cut lengths~50% longer than for all other directions. Evaluation of cutting forces and associated spectrum analysis of results indicated that cutters employed in a horizontal downwards direction produced the least vibration.
