영어 진행형의 인지적 의미와 행위자성에 관한 분석

        이나승 새한영어영문학회 2009 새한영어영문학 Vol.51 No.2

This paper aims to analyse the meanings of English progressives and their relationship with agentivity within the framework of cognitive grammar. English verbs have various meanings in terms of the process they represent. Though there are many ways to classify verbs according to their meanings, I classify verb processes into perfective process and imperfective process. Perfective process is bounded in the temporal domain and has change of state, imperfective process is not bounded and extends indefinitely. But these two processes have different aspects in the progressive, Perfective process is unbounded and means permanent state like imperfectives. On the contrary, imperfective process is bounded like perfectives. These are the important characteristics represented in the English progressive. English progressive in terms of these two processes is related to agentivity. Agentivity in the extended perfective process is very weak because the subject has very weak or no volition. On the other hand, agentivity in the intended imperfective process is strong because the subject has strong volition to do something, I show the figures that are profiled in each domain according to the framework of cognitive grammar. In short, English progressive seems to be dynamic in that it can be extended or intended in the spatial, temporal, or abstract domain and the strength of agentivity it presents can be changed.

통번역을 위한 한국어와 영어 진행상의 인지적 의미에 관한 연구

        이나승 한국통번역교육학회 2023 통번역교육연구 Vol.21 No.1

There are various factors influencing translations and interpretations among different cultures. Languages, the signal systems, contain the values and ways of thinking of the language users. At this point, the signal systems reflect the cultural baggage and express as the cultural gap among the different language users. Ledermer(1994) says we need to get help from the cognitive accumulators for translation or interpretation. In this aspect, I think cognitive concepts are surely associated with the translation or interpretation among languages and act as the backgrounds of understanding the various meanings. This paper aims at analyzing the meanings of the Korean and English progressive aspects in terms of cognitive grammar. I also discuss some problems in Korean progressive aspects not solved yet. Languages are different among cultures, but human thoughts can be expressed and explained through the common cognitive process.

영어 진행형의 의미에 대한 인지적 분석

정혜진 ( Hye Jin Chung ),이나승 ( Na Seung Lee ) 대한언어학회 2011 언어학 Vol.19 No.2

The purpose of this paper is to analyze English progressive constructions within the framework of cognitive grammar. Many attempts have been made to account for English progressive constructions, but to our knowledge it is hard to define the meanings of them. In this paper the researchers attempt to analyze English progressive constructions in terms of agentivity and movability. Movability is a new term that the researchers propose to account for the cognitive meanings of English progressive constructions. What we claim is that English progressive constructions can be explained more extensively through a cognitive term ``movability``.

Ultraviolet-Cathodoluminescent 330 nm light source from a 2-inch wide CNT electron-beam emission under DC electric field

Chandra Mohan Manoj Kumar,심상균,조문욱,김태경,곽준섭,박준모,장낙원,류상완,이나승,이준기 한국물리학회 2021 Current Applied Physics Vol.28 No.-

We report a 2-inch wide-area AlGaN-based ultraviolet (UV) – cathodoluminescence (CL) light source emission using electron beam (EB) pumped source under DC electric field from an AlGaN/GaN multi-quantum-well grown on a sapphire substrate. The EB-pumping is achieved by wide-area carbon nanotubes (CNT) based field emitters and is arranged via a metal mesh, thereby acting as a gate to pump the electron flow. We have carried out UV–CL measurements with a turn-on field emission in the anode voltage ranging between 5 kV and 9 kV at anode current up to 1 mA. The best results are obtained at the low consumption energy of 7 W (anode current 1 mA; anode voltage 7 kV). The 330 nm UV–CL emission shows an output power of ~225 mW, with an as-calculated power efficiency of ~3.6%. The CL measurements show (5–8) % defect luminescence in the visible region.
