A loop control method, where all potential manipulated variables are actively utilized, is proposed for a process which has redundant manipulated inputs. Through analyses in the frequency domain, it was shown that the performance and stability of the proposed method are improved in comparison with those of the conventional method where extra manipulated variables are fixed at constant values. For experimental evaluation, the proposed method was applied to temperature control of a batch reaction calorimeter. As a result, tracking as well as regulation performances were found to be greatly improved compared to the conventional approach.
경승용차용 5밸브(흡기3밸브) 가솔린 엔진의 연소실 형상 설계 기술에 관한 연구

For the purpose of development of high performance gasoline engine, the design technique of the 5-valve(3 intake valves) combustion chamber for a subcompact vehicle has been studied. 3 intake valves cylinder heads were designed by using a 3-dimension CAD program, and steady state flow experiments have been performed with these model. The 5-valve engines, which have larger valve opening areas, have larger intake flow rates and higher flow coefficient than the 4-valve engines. The effects of intake port design parameters of a 5-valve engine on the intake flow rate and bore size were studied, and the design guidelines for the 5-valve engine were established.

Reactor Vessel Internals(RVIs), which are installed within the reactor pressure vessel and support the fuel assembly, take responsibility for safety of reactor core. In operating Nuclear Power Plants(NPPs), the RVIs have been exposed to severe conditions such as neutron irradiation, high temperature, high pressure, and high velocity of coolant flow and have degraded by materials aging with long-term operation. Therefore, the effective aging management plan and the appropriate regulatory requirements are necessary to maintain the integrity of RVIs. The purpose of this paper is to provide a review guide for Periodic Safety Review(PSR) of RVIs in presurized water reactor. The review guide is developed based on the revised review guides and reports established from IAEA and USNRC, and the analysis results of design characteristics, aging mechanisms, and operating experiences of RVIs in domestic and international NPPs. Consequently, the developed review guide for PSR of RVIs is expected to contribute an overall strategy and standard for the PSR of RVIs.
스월 유동이 직분식 디젤엔진 내의 Soot 분포에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

Recently, many researches have been performed to improve performances of the combustion and emission in the D.I.Diesel engine. Especially reduction of the soot formation in tole combustion chamber is the essential to acquire the improvement of the emission performance. These emission of the diesel combustion is effected by the characteristics of air-fuel mixing. Thus, in this study, the distribution of soot in the diesel combustion is measured by LII(laser induced incandescence) and LIS(Laser induced scattering) method. From this experimental results, it is confirmed that the swirl flow intensified by SCV(swirl control valve) is effective on the reduction of soot in the combustion chamber.
이색 PIV 기술을 이용한 5밸브 가솔린엔진 연소실 내의 유동특성 분석

A 5-valve(intake 3-valve) engine has been developed to increase engine performance. These engines have a high power caused by the decrease of inertia mass of an intake valve and the increase of intake effective area. In this study, in-cylinder flow patterns were visualized with laser sheet method and velocity profiles at near intake valves were inspected by using a two-color PIV. In addition, steady flow tests were performed to quantify tumble ratio of flow-fields generated by a tumble control valve(TCV). Experimental results of steady flow test show that the cure of tumble ratio in intake 3-valve engine farmed as a S shape with valve lift changes. This tendency is different from the one in intake 2-valve engine. Using laser sheet method and two color PIV method, we can find that the intake flow through upper valve increases and the velocity gradient also slightly increases as valve lift increases. From this study, the in-cylinder flow characteristics around intake valves were made clearly.
