For the purpose of appropriate therapeutic application, increase of survival rate after treatment, decrease of sequelae after treatment and improvement of predictive accuracy in prognosis of malignant tumor of oral and maxillofacial region, evaluation on cervical lymph node metastasis of malignant tumor of oral and maxillofacial region was performed with physical examination, radiographic, pathologic correlative study of 42 cases of squamous cell carcinoma to have been diagnosed and treated neck dissection in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, College of Dentistry, Seoul National University from the 1st of January, 1985 to the 31th of August, 1992. The results were as follows: 1. Senstivity values were 62.5% in physical examination and 50.0% in radiologic finding. Specificity values were 64.7% in physical examination and 100.0% in radiologic finding. 2. False positive values were 70.6% in physical examination and no case in radiologic finding. False negative values were 12.0% in physical examination and 10.5% in radiologic finding. 3. Positive predictive values were 29.4% in physical examination and 100.0% in radiologic finding. Negative predictive values were 88.0% in physical examination and 89.5% in radiologic finding. 4. Overall efficiency value was 64.3% in physical examination and 90.5% in radiologic finding. Overall efficiency value in radiologic finding was higher than in physical examination.

A significant increase in the Leidenfrost point temperature was observed on a porous zirconia surface compared with non-porous surface. Two samples (Non-porous, Porous surface) were fabricated by sintering. The porosity of each surface was calculated 0.8% and 30.9% from sample and particle densities. The Leidenfrost phenomenon was not observed on the porous surface for surface temperature up to 500 ℃ compared to the Leidenfrost point on non-porous surface 410 ℃. The key phenomenon determining Leidenfrost phenomenon is the rebound process of droplet during a few milliseconds following the impact on the surface. On the porous surface, due to the capillary wicking phenoenon, the rebound was disturbed.

The urban regeneration can be realized by establishing a development plan on various physical level such as urban, neighborhood and dwellings. The urban residential area contains characteristics of neighborhood environment and its community, since it is a mixture of dwellings which is a basic unit in neighborhood and various residential facilities. Thus, neighborhood regeneration should aim at sustaining physical condition and recovering its characteristics and functions of neighborhood with its community. For these purposes, this study analyzes present housing condition in the old section of Seoungnam city and aims at proposing a course of development (3 stages reconstruction schedule) and basic dwelling unit plans with various building types for sustainable housing regeneration. Thus, this study concludes that 1) The 3 stage course of development is proposed on a specific site for the purpose of housing regeneration. And from basic unit for 1 person to larger unit for 4 person family, 5 different units are proposed with 16 building types containing several different units. 2) For urban regeneration through sustainable housing development with existing urban streets and aged multi-family housings, basically existing grid street system should be kept intact with the condition of maintaining fire aisle. In order to have fire safety, one of two 4m width roads is turned into one for pedestrian only and the other one is widened to 6m for essential car traffic. This new housing block makes 16sites into one big site which will contain more housing units. 3) In order to achieve above 2), the process for proper building codes and regulations must be advanced before this Housing Design Proposal would be launched.

본 연구는 연안지역의 과학적이고 효과적인 개발, 보존, 관리를 위해 항해용 전자해도와 수치지형도를 통합한 통합수치도를 개발하기 위한 기술과 개발된 통합수치도의 활용방안을 모색하였다. 연구의 예비적 단계에서, 연안지역과 연안통합관리의 개념이 정리되었으며, 한국의 국립지리원과 국립해양조사원에서 제작된 국가 수치지도들의 구조적 차이와 특성이 파악되고 난 후, 수치지도들은 KVR-1000고해상도 인공위성자료와 중첩되어 통합수치도로 제작되었다. 제작과정상에 발생된 해안선 오차를 분석하기 위해 부산광역시 서구 해안지역의 인공지형 2개 지역과 자연지형 지역 1개를 대상으로 전자해도와 육도의 매칭과 GPS 측량에 의한 해안선 불일치의 원인 및 차이를 분석한 후, 그 문제점, 원인 및 해결방안에 대해 서술하였다. 또한, 본 연구에서는 제작된 통합수치도를 기반으로 연안통합관리에 필요한 다양한 응용방안 및 활용가치를 서술하였다. Integrated approach is presented by developing the technology and the ways of the practical use of the integrated digital map of an Electronical Navigational Chart(ENC) and Digital Terrain Map(DTM) for the effective and scientific based conservation, development and management of coastal area in this study. At first, as preliminary studies to make eventual integrated maps, the necessity of the integrated map is described with the concept of coastal areas. Then, the characteristics of digital maps developed by Korean Geography Institute and National Marine Investigation Institute are carefully analyzed and integrated to a digital map as a test for edge matching in coastal line. Developed test coastal map was overlayed with a high-resolution satellite image(KVR-1000). The ground survey using Global Positioning System was conducted for the analysis of edge matching along the coastal line. Results from the edge matching analysis of coastal lines showed about 14 meters mean difference in artificial terrain and 4 meters mean difference in natural terrain. The problems, causes and solutions for the edge-matched differences are described. Furthermore, the value of utilization the future use and various fields of application produced by the integrated digital map database are suggested as a basic for ICZM implementation, in South Korea.
구강편평세포암종의 미세혈관 밀도와 악성도간 상관관계에 관한 임상병리학적 연구

Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), the most common head and neck cancer, shows poor prognosis as a result of frequent local invasion and lymph node metastasis that is mediated by multiple proteolytic enzymes and angiogenesis. In recent reports, angiogenesis is known to play an important role in tumor invasion and metastasis. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of angiogenesis in OSCCs, particularly with respect to the invasive and the metastatic potential. The microvessel density (CD31) in 34 human OSCC cases were investigated by immunohistochemistry, and reviewed with respect to the invasiveness and the presence of lymph node metastasis and following results were obtained. The blood vessel density (28.8±7.9) in the strong invasive cases were significantly higher than those (23.3±6.9) in the weak invasive cases. (p<0.05) In the 14 cases with lymph node metastasis, the average blood vessel density was 28.5±9.6. On the other hand, in the 20 cases without lymph node metastasis, the blood vessel density was 25.2±6.4. The blood vessel density was not statistically related to lymph node metastasis. (p>0.05) These results suggest that angiogenesis may be related to the local invasion of OSCC and further research will be needed to investigate the possibility that antiangiogenic agent can be used as an anticancer agent for OSCC.

This study starts from the architectural and urban interest to integrate the daily life and behavior of residents in the city of Seongnam and to sustain the community. A fixed abode is something that can not be separated from the place and should be approached from a comprehensive perspective reflecting the physical and social conditions of the region. Although residential neighborhoods have a residential walking range, which has a steep slope, it has been formed in the suburbs of the residential area where commercial facilities are activated organically. The humanities and social organizations of the residents are integrated with the physical space and act as constituent factors of major cities. This is an attempt to suggest improvement and activation of existing cities based on their daily lives, rather than destroying cities and creating new ones. Also, it is proposed to ‘Neighborhood Street’ as an indicator of a uniform urban renewal plan for existing urban regeneration projects. Based on the definition of the city of living in the city, the center of the city will be located in the center of the city, and it will be the center of the city"s bustling streets.
