        한국재래종산양의 체형에관한 생물측정학적연구

        이기만 한국축산학회 1964 한국축산학회지 Vol.6 No.1

Observation on 40 physical characters of the Korean native goat was made on 169 fer is aged 2 or more in Choongnam Province to investigate actual condition of their conformation and to get the improving materials, and the statistical study was carried out on these data, The result obtained are summarized as follows. 1 Mean, standard deviation and coefficient of variation were estimated. The body site was very small and the mean of withers height was M=51.6 ㎝, S=3.67 ㎝. 2. The nature of variation curves in the characters was made clear Correlation coefficients of size between withers height, body length or chest girth and each of other characters were explained to be strong, then regression coefficient and regression equation were determined with the correlation coefficient. 3. The normal type in Kanatani's method was considered to be the first suitable goat for the improvement of the Korean goat. Individuals belonging to normal type were 19 goats which were 11.2% of all the goats. 4. From the viewpoint of symmetry in conformation, the Korean native goat may not be suitable to be dairy type but may close upon meat type. They have a long, low, and large body and their characters showed large deviation, Therefore, individuals of normal type were few and their types were not uniform. 5. C.R.L. between the Korean goat and the milk goal. was 4911.9, between the Korean goat and milk goat was 650.8±0.21 between the Korean goat and the Yakushima goat 258.1±21. The average T. D. between the Korean goat and the milk goat was 551.5, between the Korean goat and Yakushima goat was 316.5. Therefore, these breeds expressed a great difference each other.

        제주도마체형에 관한 생물측정학적 연구

        이기만 한국축산학회 1961 한국축산학회지 Vol.3 No.1

        1. Horses employed is this study were Cheju Horses aged five or more which had bees feeding in Cheju Island. They were 102 females and 69 males, selected after general examination of the appearance. Horses in a state of a bad form and type were excluded from this study. Thirty physical characters in each horse were measured by the author, with special attention to the error of measurement. 2. By sex distinotion, the biostatistic constants of measurements and the index numbers of withers height, the variation curve as its fitted normal curve, correlation coefficients, coefficients of regression, regression equations, are obtained, and then the fitting degree of regression equations for withers height to body length and thud width were tested. The ratios of the difference(D) between each mean both males and females to probable error (P.E), the ratios of means males to those of females, indexes of conformation, and a normal type are obtained. On the other hand, Pearson's coefficient of racial likens, Morant's reduced coefficient of racial likeness, Poniatowski's type difference are obtained, and then those were applied to compare Cheju Horses with other breeds. 3. In ths biostatistic constants both males and female coefficients of variability were withers height that they wars the smallest, next hip height. Generally speaking, coefficients of variability in the characters indicating the height of a body were small. The largest coefficient of variability were that of thigh length, next fore pastern length, upperarm length, which are, characters it is difficult to seize the measurement point. In the means, each characters were very small beginning with which withers height of females is 113.18 ㎝, of males 111.18 ㎝. 4. In the biostatistic constants of index numbers of withers height, coefficient of variability to those of measurements showed almost the same tendency. On the other hand, both coefficients of variability in the measurements and the index numbers of withers height of Cheju Horses were larger than that of other breeds. These facts show that the form of Cheju Horses are not comparatively unified. 5. When variation curves of each character were compared with those of normal curve, as a whole variation cures were proper, showed nothing particular to be rough. The skewness of forequarter length (+), forearm length (+), hip height (-), hindshank length (+), rump length (-), were significant. The kurtosis of foreshin length (+), hip height (+), rump length (+), shoulder length (+), thigh length (+), chest depth (+), upperarm length (+), were significant. 6. Correlations between withers height, body length, chest depth, chest width, thurl width, chest firth, forearm circum, or foreskin circum representing the height, length, depth, width, or circum and the other characters, and between the characters of one anothers were the positive, with exception of a few characters such as between chest depth and upperarm length, thigh length, or cubit, chest depth and coupling length, chest girth and loin length or forearm length. In most cask the degrees of correlation between withers height or body length and the other parts were high. In order to obtain the increasing or decreasing ratio of the mating character accordion to the increasing and decreasing of one unit of a character, the coefficient of regression and the regression equation were obtained. 7. When means of measurements, index numbers of means of males to females, D/P. E were compared males with females, it was proved that females ware larger than males. But it is the result which is concerned in only the Cheju Horse fed at Cheju Island, not the result which is considered all native horses distributed in all over Korea to be population. 8. Though the Conformation of Cheju Horses were made clear by the above-mentioned biostatistic constants, when Cheju Horses were inquired into index numbers of withers height, in order to investigate judging of a horse's appearance, a kind of work applied, the performance of work, it was proved that Cheju Horses have the typical form of work horses because they were low in foresection, high in hindsection, low square, long middlesection, lame chest girth and fore shin circum. And it was proved that Cheju Horses was narrow in the width of the body, long in the cubit, the distinguished type much combined a type of light hors9s. 9. The normal type was made of the horse of normal withers height included in M±S of withers height. Though the normal type of females is worth in breeding, it is .unreasonable that the normal type of males were made the base in improving, for the superior sire transfers from Cheju Island to Korea proper. 10. In order to understand theoretically relations of racial likeness, calculating C. R. L., R. C. R. L., Td. between Cheju Horses and Mongolians, Arabians, Thorough-breds, or Anglo-arabians, Cheju horses were concluded to be relatively closer to the Mongolian than the other breeds in the conformation.

A transient numerical simulation was conducted to have variation of temperature on an element of resistive SFCL under quench condition. It is very important engineering information for an optimum design of cryogenic system for coo1ing of a resistive SFCL element. A resistive SFCL bifilar coil that was developed for 10MV A system by Nexans, Germany was incorporated as a mode1 in this numerical study. From the simulation results, it was found that the average temperature on the shunt and Bi-2212 element at 500kW, 100ms was 711.1K and 198.4K respectively. The temperature variation with the change of the hot-spot size and time is a1so obtained. The maximum temperature was continuously increased in all cases until the hot-spot stops at 100ms and it was going down after then. Such as, the details of temperature distribution on the SFCL element obtained from this numerical study and it should be very valuable information on the decision of the cooling capacity of cryogenic system

Although conventional barium study has been used for diagnosis of gastrointestinal lymphoma, CT is superior to barium study in the evaluation of its extent and relationship to the bowel, lymph node enlargement , and distant metastasis. The authors analyzed CT features of 21 cases of pathologically proven gastrointestinal lymphoma for recent 5 years. The results were as follow : 1. In a total 21 cases of gastrointestinal lymphomas. 13 cases were primary gastrointestinal lymphoma and others were secondary. But there was no difference in CT features between them. 2. Male predominates over female (17 : 4 ), and the age ranged from 5 to 73 years old, most common-in between 4 th and 7 th decades. 3. The most frequent histologic type of gastrointestinal lymphoma was histiocytic type(9case ; 43%), followed by lymphocytic type(5 cases ; 24%), mixed type(3 cases ; 14%), Hodgkin's disease(2 cases ; 10 %), and unclassified (2 cases ; 10%), in order of frequency. 4. The most common site of bowel involvement was small bowel(7 cases ; 33%), followed by colon (5 cases ; 24%), stomach(4 cases ; 19%), ileocecal (3 cases ; 14%), and multifocal(2 cases ; 10%). 5. The most common chief complaint was abdominal pain(12 cases ; 52), followed by palpable abdominal mass (10 cases ; 48 %), general weakness (5 cases : 24%), weigh loss (3 cases ; 14%), and fever(1 case ; 5%). 6. Typical CT feature of the gastrointestinal lymphoma were diffuse or focal thickening of bowel wall and/or homogeneous, smoothly lubulated intraluminal , submucosal, or extraluminal mass, accompanied by regional and/or widespread lymphadenopathy with frequent invovement of mesentery and omentum. 7. CT is useful in diagnosis of gastrointestinal lymphoma, and helps to ealuate accurated stage & detect a complication. Also CT plays an important role in decisionof therapeutic method for gastrointestinal lymphoma.

        돈의 혈정단백질에 관한 연구

        이기만,한상기,정의용 ( Khi M . Lee,Sang K . Han,Eui Y . Chung ) 한국축산학회 1984 한국축산학회지 Vol.26 No.4

The phenotypes, genotypes and its gene frequency in genetic variant of Transferrin (Tf) and Pre-albumin (Pa) in serum proteins from total 134 individual pigs, Large White (LW), Duroc (D), Berkshire (B), Landrare (L) and Crossbred (C.B), reared in Korea were investigated by means of starch gel electrophoresis and their gene frequencies and genetic similarities were compared with those of foreign Pig breeds. The results are summarized as follows: 1. Tf and Pa of serum protein in pigs were controlled by co-dominant autosomal allelic gene of TF^A and Tf^B, and Pa^A and Pa^B, respectively. 2. In the phenotypes of Tf of LW, B, L and C.B breeds, Tf AB and Tf BB genetic variants were observed. In the D breed only Tf BB variant was found and the Tf AA homozygous was not observed in all breeds. In the phenotypes of Pa, genetic variants of Pa AA, Pa AB and Pa BB were commonly observed in all breeds. However, one pig of Tf AB heterozygous was appeared in the L breed. It was supposed to crossbred pig because of including A gene. Therefore, it was considered that the purity of a boar and a breed sow in Korea was in need of reexamination. Distribution of the phenotypes of serum protein loci in all the breeds with the exception of C.B breed agrees with Hardy - Weinberg equilibrium. 3. The gene frequencies of Tf B in LW, B, L, D and C.B breeds were 0.714, 0.833, 0.917, 1.000 and 0.160, respectively. In the Pa the LW, D and B breeds showed high gene frequency of the Pa^A variant with 0.571, 0.625 and 0.667, but Pa^B variant showed low gene frequency with 0.429, 0.375 and 0.333, respectively. However, Pa^B with a frequency of 0.583 was slightly higher than that of Pa^A (0.417) in the L breed. Frequencies of 0.571, 0.625 and 0.667 for the LW, D and B breeds showed high gene frequency of the Pa^A, whereas Pa^B showed low gene frequency (0.429, 0.375 and 0.333, respectively). The Pa^B with 0.604 gene frequency in C.B breed was also high, but Pa^A was in low gene frequency of 0.396.
