        일본의 의사학 교육 150년: 역사와 과제

        This paper is the first attempt to get a broad view of the history of modern medical history education in Japan, from the origin of medical history education in the Meiji era to its current state in medical schools. By correcting errors related to the first university lectures on medical history in Japan and historically contextualizing the challenges of medical history education and the academic community’s responses, this paper aims to examine both the historical significance and practical implications. The history of medical history education in Japan is relatively long. Medical history lectures in a medical school were first planned in 1876, and contrary to popular belief, the actual lecture started in December 1882 under Imamura Ryō’s charge and continues to this day. However, despite its relatively long history, the substance of medical history education in Japan is lacking in both quality and quantity. The absence of full-time professors of medical history education and related departments has led to a vicious cycle of failure in producing experts and a decline in medical education. Medical history education in Japan failed to take advantage of the fact that it began early despite the absence of tradition. The status of medical history education greatly increased in the 1930s, but the opportunity to expand its base was not utilized during the postwar reorganization of medical education and the student movement in the late 1960s. Falling into amateurism, evasion of real issues, and a lack of collective academic responses have hindered the understanding of these phenomena and problem-solving. The history of medical history education in Japan provides significant implications for the current reality of medical history education in Korea. The Korean medical history community must also confront and adapt proactively and organizationally within the evolving landscape of medical education. If the community settles for the present, Japan’s past will become Korea’s future.

        움직임분석 및 색상정보를 이용한 실시간 얼굴추적

        동영상으로부터 움직임 분석 및 색상정보를 이용한 실시간 얼굴 추적 방법을 제안한다. 시간미분연산에 의하여 실시간으로 입력되는 동영상으로부터 움직임 영역을 검출한 후, 컬러공간 융합 필터링에 의하여 얼굴 영역 후보 화소를 검출하고 눈, 입등 얼굴 구성 요소 검출에 의하여 얼굴 영역의 실시간 추적을 행하였다. 얼굴 구성요소의 참조 템플릿을 구축한 후 신규 입력되는 연속영상의 얼굴 영역으로부터 템플릿 매칭을 행함으로써 추출된 얼굴 영역의 신뢰도를 판정하는 방법으로 얼굴 영역 추적의 안정도를 향상시켰다. A realtime face tracking algorithm using motion analysis from image sequences and color information is proposed. Motion area from the realtime moving images is detected by calculating temporal derivatives first, candidate pixels which represent face region is extracted by the fusion filtering with multiple color models, and realtime face tracking is performed by discriminating face components which includes eyes and lips. We improve the stability of face tracking performance by using template matching with face region in an image sequence and the reference template of face components.

        손동작 식별 규칙을 이용한 컴퓨터의 프레젠테이션 제어

        손동작 인식을 통하여 컴퓨터 프레젠테이션을 제어하는 시스템을 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템은 손 동작의 다양한 운동 형태를 인식, 구분함으로써 부가적인 제어용 장치 없이 프레젠테이션을 제어한다. 손동작의 인식을 위하여 얼굴영역 검출과 손영역 검출을 시행한다. 하르분류기(Haar classifier)를 이용하여 얼굴영역을 검출하며, HSV 컬러모델상에서 피부 색상 정보에 따라 손영역을 검출한다. 얼굴 영역은 손동작의 시작과 끝, 동작의 크기 및 방향을 판단하는 기준으로 삼는다. 얼굴 영역으로부터 가로, 세로 중심축을 설정하고 제안하는 모션 식별룰에 따라 다양한 손동작을 인식하고 컴퓨터 제어에 이용한다. 약 1200회의 동작 인식 실험에서 97.2%의 인식률을 얻어 제안하는 알고리즘이 유효함을 확인하였다. A system that control computer presentations by using the hand motion recognition and identification is proposed. The system recognizes and identifies various types of motion in hand motion, controlls the presentation without additional control devices. To recognize hand movements, it performs a face and hand region detection. Facial area is detected using Haar classifier and hand region is extracted according to skin color information on HSV color model. The face area is used to determine the beginning and end of hand gestures, the size and direction of motion. It recognizes various hand gestures and uses them to control computer presentations according to the hand motion identification rules that are proposed and set horizontal and vertical axes from the face area. It is confirmed that 97.2% recognition rate is obtained in about 1200 hand motion recognition experiments and the proposed algorithm is valid in presentation control.

      • Reduced glutathione 및 한랭노출(寒冷露出)이 X선(線) 전신조사(全身照射)를 입은 마우스수종장기(數種臟器)의 NP-SH 및 NP-SS에 미치는 영향(影響)

        In an attempt to observe the Possible radioprotective actions of single or combined application of reduced glutathione (GSH) and cold exposure in mammals, the albino mouse was subjected to GSH injection, cold exposure at $-1{\pm}0.2C$ and whole-body X-irradiation with 900r either singularly or in combination, or the X-irradiation following the cold exposure and/or GSH injection. The levels of intrinsic NP-SH and NP-SS of the liver, brain and heart were measured at one hour after each application, and the results were compared with the control, i.e., non-irradiated and non-cold exposed normal animal. NP-SH was measured by the Ellman's method, and NP-SS was measured by the electrolytic reduction method described by Dohan and Woodward. The results thus obtained are summarized as follows: 1) The levels of NP-SH in the liver, brain and heart of the normal mouse was $6.35{\pm}0.61,\;2.65{\pm}0.15\;and\;3.17{\pm}0.10{\mu}\;mol/gm\;wet\;wt.$, respectively, and NP-SS was $3.09{\pm}0.11,\;2.95{\pm}0.20\;and\;0.18{\pm}0.24{\mu}\;mol/gm\;wet\;wt.$, respectively. 2) Though there were some degrees of difference among the tissues studied, a general tendency of (1) elevated NP-SH and NP-SS levels in the GSH injection group, (2) similar or slightly elevated NP-SH and NP-SS levels in the cold-exposed group, and (3) markedly decreased levels of NP-SH and NP-SS in the X-irradiated group, was observed. When GSH was injected prior to the X-irradiation, NP-SH and NP-SS in all the tissues studied showed generally higher values than in the group where the X-irradiation was given alone, and the values were close to the normal. In the group where the cold exposure was applied immediately after the X-irradiation, no significant difference was observed in the NP-SH and NP-S5 levels comparing with the X-irradiation group. On the contrary, when GSH was injected immediately prior to the X-irradiation or cold exposure, NP-SH and NP-SS levels were either similar to, or higher than, the normal value.

        Structural Modification in Proton-Irradiated Highly-Oriented Pyrolytic Graphite

        We have made a comprehensive study on the structural changes in highly-oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) samples irradiated with 2.25-MeV proton beams. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy showed a surface polishing effect and a graphite-to-diamond surface structural transformation, followed by regraphitization of the diamond-like surface as the proton irradiation dose was increased from 1015 ions/cm2 to 2×1017 ions/cm2. While the surface showed prominent changes at relatively small irradiation doses, the bulk region of the HOPG, as probed by Raman spectroscopy, manifested creation of defects only at the maximum dose employed, for which ferromagnetism takes place.
