연구는 공연예술로서 댄스스포츠의 미적 향유에 주목하여, 자연과학적 방식으로서의 칸트의 인식 일반에 근거하는 입장에 따른다. 즉 칸트의 『판단력 비판』 중 심미적(asthetisch)판단력의 비판을 중심으로 어떻게 주관적인 미적 쾌감이 공연예술로서 댄스스포츠의 미적 향유를 통해 객관성을 확보하는가의 문제에 초점을 두고, 미학적 의의를 밝혀 보았으며 어떠한 구조 아래 일어나는가를 살펴보았다. 결론적으로 공연예술로서 댄스스포츠의 미적 향유는 궁극적으로 댄스스포츠작품에 대한 감정에 기초하여 가치를 발현하는 것이며, 무수한 체험(경험)들 가운데에서 대상이 주체에게 어떠한 느낌으로 다가와 내적 경험들과의 관계에서 생기는 판단은, 댄스스포츠작품이 갖는 미적 요소로부터 혹은 심미적인 것을 느끼는 주체의 감정으로부터 판정한다. 좀 더 명확히 말해서 칸트가 논하는 판단은 취미능력의 판단으로부터 심미적 판단이 행하는 가치 평가로서, 대상의 예술적 체험에 시작하여 아름다움을 향유하고 공연예술로서 댄스스포츠의 현재적 의미를 재조명한 것이다. This study focuses on aesthetic enjoyment of dance sport as performing art, and follows the standpoint of general recognition of Kant as a method of natural science. That is, the focus is on how the subjectivity is secured through aesthetic enjoyment of dance sport as performing art based on Kant’s critique of aesthetic judgment in Critique of Judgment. Also, its aesthetic significance and structure are examined. In conclusion, aesthetic enjoyment of dance sport as performing art manifests its value ultimately based on feelings about the work, and judgment that forms in a relationship between internal experience makes judgment with the subject’s aesthetic feeling from the work’s aesthetic elements. To be precise, Kant’s sense of judgment is an act of aesthetic judgment evaluating value, and such analysis begins from artistic experience, enjoys the beauty, and re-illuminates modern significance of dance sport as performing art.

이 연구는 상징에 주목하여 탱고에서 어떠한 상징이 어떻게 사용되었으며, 그 내재적 의미는 무엇이고, 그것이 댄스스포츠의 종목별 내에서 어떠한 역할을 하고 있는가를 규명하는 것으로 탐색해 보았다. 그리고 탱고라는 한정된 텍스트를 대상으로 상징 연구의 표현론적 방법을 도입하여 미학적인 측면에서의 성격을 밝힌 것이다. 그리고 춤의 상징에 대해 선행연구 파소도블레, 삼바에 이어 후속연구로 진행되는 탱고의 상징 연구이다. 따라서 춤의 상징 연구에 있어 반복적인 내용인 상징의 일반적 견해, 즉 개념정의 부분은 다루지 않았다1). 탱고의 형식과 내용에서 문화적 측면으로 그 현황을 인식하고 그 지평에서 탱고의 상징을 파악하였다. 탱고의 상징은 그것을 전달하는 자(창작자)와 그것을 전달받는 자(감상자) 사이의 의미전달을 전제로 구성된다. 따라서 예술가(창작자)와 감상자(향수자) 사이에서 이루어지는 상징이라는 메세지는 양측 모두 탱고의 향유자이지만, 엄밀하게 말하자면 양자 모두의 입장에서 과정을 반드시 수반하는 것으로 관련되어 있는 것이다. 즉 상징의 관점에서 탱고의 의미를 밝히는 것으로 예술의 기본 구조인 예술가(창작자), 예술작품(안무), 감상자(향수자) 간의 분리된 영역을 상징의 의미 체계 안으로 통합하여 그것이 전달하는 의미와 형식을 살필 수 있는 중요한 분석요소로서 기능하는 것이다. 이러한 상징에 대한 논의를 토대로 탱고를 연구대상으로 하여 춤에 상징을 밝혀 보았다. 그리고 예술적 의미로 탱고의 상징 가능성을 열어줌으로써 탱고가 지니는 움직임 속에서 사회ㆍ문화적 요소로 더 깊은 춤의 상징을 담고 있는 것이다. This study focuses on symbol in order to investigate the ways symbols are used in Tango, what they mean, and what roles they play in each type of dance sport. It is a follow-up study from my previous researches on symbols in Paso Doble and Samba. For this reason, definitions and general concepts of symbol overlapping with the previous works were not addressed in this paper. It deals mainly with symbols in the form of Tango from the view of cultural contexts. The symbol of Tango composes with premise of transfer between its creator and appreciator. Therefore, analyzing what Tango means from the viewpoint of symbol works as a key factor in order to figure out the meaning and form which integrates separate parts of art among the creator, artwork, and the audience into the meaning system of symbol. Finally, this study shows the symbol of dance by analyzing sociocultural elements inherent in the movements of Tango.
