Patterning potential of the terminal system in the Drosophila embryo

Segmentation of the Drosophila embryo is initiated by localized maternal signals. In this context, anteriorly localized Bicoid activates the gap genes in the anterior half of the embryo while posteriorly localized Nanos represses the translation of maternal hunchback mRNA to pattern the posterior half. The non-segmented termini are patterned by the localized activation of mitogen-activated protein kinase. Yet, the spatial extent of the terminal patterning system in regulating gap genes beyond poles remains unknown. We investigated the patterning potential of the terminal system using mutagenized embryos that lack both the anterior and the posterior maternal signaling systems. Using a combination of quantitative imaging and mathematical modeling, we analyzed the spatial patterns of gap genes in the early Drosophila embryo. We found that this mutant embryo develops symmetric cuticle patterns along the anteroposterior axis with two segments on each side. Notably, the terminal system can affect the expression of Krüppel in the torso region. Our mathematical model recapitulates the experimental data and reveals the potential bistability in the terminal patterning system. Collectively, our study suggests that the terminal system can act as a long-range inductive signal and establish multiple gene expression boundaries along the anteroposterior axis of the developing embryo.

Intention to Use Internet-only Banks Applying Value-basedAdoption Model and Individual InnovationKeonyong Lee Abstract: The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between Internet-only bank users' perceived value and continuous use intention, and to analyze the effect of user innovation on the benefits and risks that determine perceived value. For the analysis, data from 309 people were collected using a structured questionnaire targeting internet-only bank users and analyzed using a structural equation model. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the user’s perceived value is determined by benefits and risks, and the perceived value affects the intention to continue using. In addition, it was found that user's innovativeness increases the level of perception of benefit and decreases the perception of risk. This study provides important information for the continuous growth of Internet-only banks by analyzing users’ continuous intention to use Internet-only banks from a new perspective. In addition, the need for development and publicity of various financial services and word-of-mouth marketing targeting users was presented in order for internet-only banks to increase user value for continuous growth. 기술준비수용모델(TRAM)을 이용한 인터넷전문은행 사용의도 분석

본 연구는 인터넷전문은행의 사용의도를 규명하기 위해 기술준비도와 기술수용모델을 통합한 기술준비수용모델(TRAM)을 이용하여 기술준비도와 지각된 용이성, 지각된 유용성, 사용의도 간의 관계를 분석하였다. 이를 위해 금융소비자 321명의 자료를 PLS-SEM을 이용하여 분석하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 기술준비도의 긍정적 요인인 낙관성은 지각된용이성과 유용성, 사용의도에 직접적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 혁신성은 지각된 용이성에 긍정적 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 기술준비도의 부정적 요인인 불편감과 불안감은 지각된 용이성에 부정적 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 지각된 용이성은 지각된 유용성에 긍정적 영향을 미쳤으며, 지각된 용이성과 유용성은 사용의도에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 추가분석을 통해 기술준비도 구성요인은 지각된 용이성과 유용성을 매개로 사용의도에 간접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 인터넷전문은행을 대상으로 TRAM의 유용성을 입증하였고, 기술준비도의 긍정적 측면과 부정적 측면모두 고려하여 사용의도를 설명하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 또한, 인터넷전문은행의 고객확대를 위한 시사점으로 SNS 를 통한 일반 은행과의 차별성을 강조하고, 불편감과 불안감을 해소하기 위해 서비스의 사용절차를 단순화하고, 보안과정보보호 강화를 위한 노력을 제시하였다.
