      • CO2로부터 개미산 제조를 위한 Sn촉매의 내구성 향상 연구

        이산화탄소를 전기화학적으로 전환하는 기술의 상용화를 위해서는 낮은 에너지 소모량, 생성물에 대한 높은 선택도, 빠른 반응속도 및 장기 내구성 등이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 이산화탄소로부터 개미산을 제조하기 위해 Sn촉매를 사용했다. Sn은 개미산에 대한 선택도가 높지만 장시간 실험을 진행하면 촉매의 성능이 저하되는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 Sn의 내구성을 향상하기 위한 신규 촉매를 제조하고 이를 사용하여 개미산 생산에 대한 페러데이 효율과, 생성 속도를 측정 하였다. 전환 성능 평가는 H-type 반응기를 사용하였으며, 상대전극으로 백금전극, 기준전극으로 Ag/AgCl을 사용하였다. 실험은 상온조건에서 시간대전류기법을 이용해 환원전위 -2.0V에서 2시간 동안 진행하였다. 기상 생성물은 GC를 사용하여 수소와 일산화탄소를 분석하였고, 액상 생성물은 HPLC를 이용하여 개미산을 분석하였다. Sn촉매일 경우 초기성능 대비 페러데이 효율이 약 0.71% 저하되었다. 신규 촉매를 사용 했을 때 페러데이 효율은 초기 성능 대비 효율 성능이 약 3.28% 상승한 결과를 확인했다. 따라서 신규 촉매가 Sn촉매보다 내구성이 향상됨을 확인했다.

        MEASUREMENT OF ROOF DEFORMATION CAUSED BY VEHICLE ROLLOVER

        A vehicle rollover is a critical accident that could have many causes. This paper describes a novel vision-based system for measuring vehicle roof deformation due to a rollover accident. A vision-based measurement system offers an overall view of structural deformation simply at low cost. Our measurement system was constructed using a Kinect camera from Microsoft, a battery, and a remote-controlled recording computer. Color images and distance maps can be obtained using two sensors embedded in the Kinect along with customized software, and the distance from the camera lens to a specific object can be calculated with a simple equation. To test our proposed approach, actual vehicle rollover experiments were conducted and the resulting roof deformations were compared to those indicated by our system. Moreover, cross-sectional image of Apillar was analyzed to calculate bending moment of inertia. From the research results, it was able to show that deformation errors were within 13 mm, and roof deformation was correlated with vehicle type, or vehicle curb weight.

        Investigation of the Ductile Cutting Behavior of Monocrystalline Yttria-stabilized Zirconia during Ultra-precision Orthogonal Cutting

        Manufacturability of advanced ceramics has been a challenging issue mainly because of their brittle behaviors and high hardness. One approach to solving this issue is enabling ductile regime cutting, which can also be used to enhance the quality of the surface and accuracy of the final product. There have been many studies investigating how to control and prolong the ductile response regime during cutting; however, it still lacks a straightforward explanation that enables us to predict the transition of the material response from the ductile regime to the brittle regime. In this study, the processing of monocrystalline yttria-stabilized zirconia was investigated to predict material behavior during cutting. Here, it is aimed to confirm that stress intensity factor analysis can be applied with a wide variety of process parameters and investigate the effect of varying the process parameters on the ductile–brittle material response transition. Experimental results showed that negative rake angle and higher cutting speed prolonged the ductile cutting regime. However, the cutting stress at the ductile–brittle transition point remained constant regardless of the process parameters which enabled us to predict the transition point with respect to the stress intensity factor. It is expected that the results of this research can contribute to the development of machining strategies with improved throughput and thus to increasing the utilization of ceramic materials.

        보이스피싱 범죄 대응방안 고찰

        Voice phishing - fishing private data over the phone - is one of fraud crimes that have caused a lot of damage for the past few years and is called Phone Financial Fraud. It is a criminal practice to require remittance or private and financial information for the reason of tax rebate, credit card default, summons or bogus abduction by disguising a call as being from a public organization, financial institution, investigation agency or acquaintance. Voice phishing causes financial loss, and additional damage is also likely to be invoked due to extorted private and financial information. Furthermore, it is becoming a source of serious social problems such as victims’ committing suicide because the resulting damage is difficult to be recovered. This review provides a better understanding of the seriousness of the damage caused by voice phishing. More specifically, it shows the current situation of a broad range of victims and tells us how serious the damage is to the poor and old. This study suggests a series of preventive measures to effectively reduce the damage generated by voice phishing. 보이스피싱 범죄는 단순히 사기범죄에서 끝나는 것이 아니라 이로 인하여 다른 피해를 유발한다는 점에서 큰 문제가 아닐 수 없다. 보이스피싱 범죄의 특수성 때문에 범죄자를 제대로 소탕할 수 없을 뿐만 아니라 지급정지된 자기 돈에 대하여 법․제도적인 근거가 없기 때문에 피해구제책을 비롯하여 여러 가지 문제가 발생하고 있다. 더 나아가 피해자의 개인정보 및 금융정보를 유출할 경우 또 다른 피해를 당할 수 있어 보이스피싱 범죄에 대한 실효적인 대책마련이 필요할 시점이다. 따라서 사회적으로 심각한 피해를 유발하고 있는 보이스피싱 범죄의 개념과 특징들이 무엇인지를 살펴보고, 보이스피싱 범죄의 실태 및 문제점이 무엇인지를 파악하여 주요 외국의 사례 및 대응방안들을 검토하여 이를 토대로 보이스피싱 범죄의 예방 및 대응방안을 제시하고자 한다.

      • A Comparison of Energy Consumption in Bulk Forming, Subtractive, and Additive Processes: Review and Case Study

        In addition to the steps taken to ensure optimal efficiency in industry, significant effort has been directed towards the green and sustainable manufacturing practices. In this paper, we review conventional and state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies to provide insight into energy consumption at the processing level. In the review, collected energy data were summarized for three manufacturing categories: conventional bulk-forming, subtractive, and additive manufacturing (AM) processes. Additive processes, in particular, are strongly emphasized in the Advanced Manufacturing Initiatives proposed recently by the United States government. Currently, the specific energy consumption (SEC) of additive processes is estimated to be ~100-fold higher than that of conventional bulk-forming processes, with subtractive processes showing intermediate values that varied over a wide range in terms of scale. Although SEC may vary with respect to the details, in general, the research showed a negative correlation with respect to the reciprocal logarithmic form of the productivity. In addition to the literature review presented, we performed case studies for the three manufacturing processes, to provide practical examples of energy consumption. Additionally, our results indicated that AM processes may require more extensive evaluation; i.e., an assessment of the entire manufacturing cycle, for more accurate prediction of the subsequent environmental impact.
