We must encourage the use of the spirometer as part of routine examination of nearly all adult patients. Despite the theoretical problems of the water spirometer and its Poor frequency response, the water spirometer is adequate for the physiological function tests even in healthy people. The aim of this study was to report the pulmonary function studies of athletic swimmers. Subjects were 85 athletic swimmers from 9 to 25 years of age. They were elementary school boys and girls, middle school boys and girls, high school boys and girls, and college students. The results are as follows: 1) Frequency of breath: (cycle/min, $M{\pm}SD$) Elementary school boys show $19{\pm}4.7$, elementary school girls $22{\pm}7.9$, middle school boys $17{\pm}2.4$, middle school girls $18{\pm}8.2$, high school boys $15{\pm}3.4$, high school girls $15{\pm}9.7$, and college male students $12{\pm}3.2$. 2) Vital capacity: (1, $M{\pm}SD$) Elementary school boys show $2.60{\pm}0.480$, elementary school girls $2.22{\pm}0.412$, middle school boys $3.63{\pm}0.598$, middle school girls $2.80{\pm}0.303$, high school boys $4.70{\pm}0.487$, high school girls $3.23{\pm}0.509$, and college male students $4.30{\pm}0.608$. 3) Tidal volume: (ml, $M{\pm}SD$) Elementary school boys show $462{\pm}59$, elementary school girls $395{\pm}110$, middle school boys $524{\pm}78$, middle school girls $421{\pm}59$, high school boys $612{\pm}101$, high school girls $494{\pm}123$, and college male students $603{\pm}121$. 4) Breath holding time: (sec, $M{\pm}SD$) Elementary school boys show $58{\pm}21.2$, elementary school girls $36{\pm}11.1$, middle school boys $61{\pm}16.7$. middle school girls $53{\pm}21.0$, high school boys $64{\pm}9.1$, high school girls $49{\pm}15.3$, and college male students $81{\pm}23.0$.

In hold that the pulmonary functions which is important situation that the national physical power, at firstly, from age 10 to age 29 young men and women 1,540 person for the progress of grew up, and them to by each aged viewing transition for pulmonary functions physical examination record is as following; and to measure normal Person with comparison by each others pulmonary functions was gained as the results of follows. 1) Frequency of Breathing: It was same the male and female age at 10 per minute over or less of 20 times, but, at age 16 to 17 was $15{\sim}16$ times, and had to precensed compare constant value. 2) Vital Capacity: At the grew up Pregress term as the body stature, age 10 to 17 or 18, had to showing rapidly increasing, but the after Probably constant. The comparison value in man and women in progress of growth up was about $200{\sim}300ml$, and after growth of progress are about 1,500ml, add in men was presence more highly value. 3) Tidal Volume: At a9e 10 was 365m1, but, it was continuing increasing, an4 at age 20 is about 500m1, and the different in men and women about $20{\sim}30$ times and had precense highly value at men. 4) Breathing holding time: It was presence same at male and femele 10 to 13, from 35 second to $37{\sim}38$ seconds, and had to Presence a slight increasing, but, may has to final of the growth progrees age at 14, it should be presence rapidly increasing and the after probably presence as same value but, than female at male is high record average value of $7{\sim}8$ seconds.

Electromyographic analysis was made in the forearm to clarify the prime mover of the wrist joint in flexion and extension. Loads of 5 and 10 pounds were given to the hand during isometric and isotonic contraction. The results of this study were summarized as follows: 1) M. flexor carpi ulnaris and m. extensor carpi radialis acted as the prime mover during flexion and extension, respectively, of the wrist joint. 2) The flexor and the extensor of the forearm showed synergistic activities under isotonic contraction, but under isometric contraction the flexor only acted. 3) Muscular activity during the isotonic contraction slightly increased compared with the isometric contraction. 4) EMGs and integrated EMGs were somewhat enhanced as the load increased, but there was no significant difference between 5 and 10 pounds load.

In Pulmonary functions which is important Place which national physical power, especially, in under growth course whom aged from 13 to 16 young boys that whole members of 207 person, and had taken pulmonary functions eyamination record, and took as the following results. 1) Frequency of breathing: Pertaingof the frequency of breathing are 18 times per minute at boys and girls whom age is 13.41 (primary student 6 grade), and at 14.18 and with age 16.41 (middle student, & high school student) are per minute was about 16 times. 2) Vital capacity: Measures of vital capacity are in case of boy student, whom was a primary student was 3 liter, and middle student was 3.2 liter, and at high school students was 3.9 liter, and which different boys and girls student was more low quantify at girls student with comparison student. 3) Breathing holding time. Breathing holding time was nor less in boys student and with girls student, but, that prinary student which middle student and high school student was shown, that is to say, more higher age shown high quantity.

In pulmonary function which is important place which national physical power, in maximal grade of physical power, and end growth and development whom aged 20 years old that whole members 74 students, and taken pulmonary functions examination records, and took as the following results. 1) Frequency of breathing: Pertaining of the frequency of breathing are about form 15, to 16 times per minute at male and female students. 2) Vital capacity: Measures of vital capacity are in case of male students, whom was about 4.3 liter, and female students was about 3.6, liter which different between male and female students was more low quantity at female students with comparison male students. 3) Tidal volume: Pertaining of the volume are in case of male students, whom was 521ml, and female students was 497m1, and was slightly low quantity at female students with comparison male students, 4) Breathing holding time: Breathing holding time are in case of male students, whom was 64 sec, and female students was 55 sec, and was sbout 10 sec more high quantity at male students than female students.

The aim of this study was to investigate the pulmonary function tests of athletes related to Running, Swimming, Cycle, Taekwando, Wrestling, Boxing, Yudo, Badminton, Base-ball, Soccer, Hand-ball, Basket-ball and Volley-ball. Subjects were 269 athletes from 18 to 22 years of age. They were college students and citizens. The results are as follows: 1) Frequency of breath: (cycles/min., M±S.D) Running shows 13±3.6, Swimming 12±3.2, Cycle 13±3.4, Taekwondo 12±4.0, Wrestling 14±2.5, Boxing 15±4.5, Yudo 13±3.2, Badminton 14±5.7, Base-ball 15±6.2, Soccer 13±2.5, Hand-ball 14±2.5, Basket-ball 12±5.6, Volley-ball 12±4.2(Table 2, Fig. 1). 2) Vital capacity: (1, M±S.D) Running shows 4.29±0.634, Swimming 4.30±0.608, Cycle 4.08±0.718, Taekwondo 4.32±0.595, Wrestling 4.40±0.663, Boxing 4.45±0.779, Yudo 4.58±0.389, Badminton 3.98±0.556, Base-ball 3.99±0.617, Soccer 4.42±0.728, Hand-ball 4.23±0.397, Basket-ball 4.28±0.426, Volley-ball 4.60±0.620(Table 2, Table 3, Fig. 2). 3) Tidal volume: (ml, M±S.D) Running shows 615±180, Swimming 603±121, Cycle 529±189, Taekwondo 726±112, Wrestling 512±90, Boxing622±134, Yudo 583±89, Badminton 672±121, Base-ball 714±97, Soccer 579±89, Hand-ball 507±69, Basket-ball 628±133, Volley-ball 597±144(Table 2, Fig.3). 4) Breath holding time : (sec., M±S.D) Running shows 64±18.8, Swimming 81±23.0, Cycle 54±13.6, Taekwondo 55±11.8, Wrestling 78±12.5, Boxing 63±9.6, Yudo 71±14.4, Badminton 62±9.8, Base-ball 58±8.9, Soccer 65±10.9, Hand-ball 66±7.6, Basket-ball 62±8.8, Volley-ball 57±13.4(Table 2, Fig.4).

N/A Tyrosine kinases have been implicated in vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation and contraction. The involvement of tyrosine kinases in 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT)-induced contractile response of the isolated aorta was examined in two-kidney, one clip (2K1C) hypertensive rats, 2141C hypertension was made by constricting the left renal artery and age-matched control rat received sham treatment. Thoracic aortic rings denuded of endotheliurn were mounted in tissue bath, for measurement of isometric contractile force. The putative tyrosine kinase inhibitor, genistein, shifted concentration-response curves to 5-HT toward the right in control rats The isometric force generation induced by 5-HT was also inhibited by genistein in aortic rings from 2K1C: hypertensivc rats, however genistein did not affect on the high concentration of 5-HT in hypertensive rat ;. Genistein-induced relaxations were more attenuated in aortae from hypertensive rats than those from control Genistein had no effect on contrartcion elicited by the direct protein kinase C activator, phorbol 12, 13 dibutyrate (PDBu) either in 2KlC hypertensive or in control Group. These findings indicate that genistein-sensitive tyrosine kinases paeticipate in 5-HT-induced contraction of rat aortic smooth muscle, of which role is apparent in 2K1C: hypertension.
