The gas encapsulation capacities of 40% potassium substituted zeolite A for gaseous C₂H₄were calculated by using the encapsulation model. For the calculation C₂H₄molecule was assumed to be a Lennard-Jones molecule. To describe the encapsulated state of C₂H₄ gas molecules the YHB radial distribution function was used. The calculations were accomplished at the temjperature 523 K and in the pressure range 0 - 1200 atm. The calculated result at 830 atm showed 79 STP cm³/g zeolite. It was also found that the attractive interactions between the encapsulated C₂H₄ molecules and the α cavity elements in the zeolite A cause the C₂H₄ molecules to penetrate toward the cavity wall approximately 0.89Å in the equilibrium encapsulation state.

We analyze the hybird media access protocol proposed by Bhargava et al., and obtain normalized average delay-throughput characteristics with a general packet length distribution, and optimal thresholds for switching the mode of operation.

The Korean Bells has some kinds of characteristics which are different from Chinese or Japanese Bells. One of them is the acoustic tube of Korean Bell. The origin and uses of the acoustic tubes of Korean Bells have been studied from the points of historical and acoustical views. It seems to me that the original acoustic tube of Korean bell was made to imitate the Shilla national treasure "Manpashicjeok" which was a sacred mystic recorder. The height of the tube must be designed to be resonated acoustically, but it is too high for fundamental natural frequency, which disappeared rapidly under the tube inside the bell. Therefore, the resonant acoustic tube must be designed for the second or third natural frequency to be resonant and then the height will be matching with the full height of the bell.

ABSTRACT The signals have different spectral representations according to their types. The spectrum is generally estimated using conveniently scaled Discrete Fourier Transform coefficients. The variation in discretization parameters should not cause major variations in the estimated spectra, but this is only true if the correct spec- tral representation is chosen. Otherwise, the sampling parameters will greatly affect the spectrum amplitudes. A technique for peak classification using the amplitude variations due to the change in frequency resolution is presented in this paper. The spectral peaks and corresponding signal components may be classified as periodic, random, or transient vibration. This technique can be used to determine the correct spectral representations of a measured signal and to rectify leakage errors. It can also be used in the machine fault diagnosis, where the type of signal may be impor- tant to indicate the defect. The signals have different spectral representations according to their types. Many studies on the machine condition monitoring have been performed because they give many benefits such s, increased machine availability, decreased maintenance cost, improved quality, reduced unscheduled downtime, improved safety, reduced stock holdings, etc. Most of them, however, are basic and simple, and the study on the statistical algorithm for automatic comparison and decision has not been carried out, yet. Therefore, in this study, the developments of diagnostic techniques and automatic diagnosis system were done for the purpose of efficient maintenance of machine and its quality control. The subjectives and results performed in this study for the automatic diagnosis of rolling element bearing, are as follows. The test rolling element bearings with various kinds of defects were prepared for the pattern analyses of bearing defects. In order to optimize decision level, decision analysis was applied. The pattern analyses according to defects are performed for the purpose of defect detection. the frequency bandwidth of reference spectrum was calculated statistically, and this calculation was based on the defect characteristic values and experimental measurements, and the result of diagnosis is expressed probabilitically by was of data-base of vibration level obtained experimentally according to frequency bands.
