모바일 단말기의 보급과 무선 네트워크 기술의 발달로 단문 메시지 전달 서비스, 멀티미디어 메시지 전달 서비스는 이미 우리에게 친숙한 서비스다. 그러나 Mark Weiser가 강조했던 기술과 서비스에 의한 사용자의 편의보다는 오히려 불편과 방해가 점점 늘어나고 있다. 적절하지 않은 시간과 장소에서의 원하지 않는 메시지가 스팸 메시지만큼이나 사람을 불편하게 만들고 있기 때문이다. 제안하는 서비스는 기존 메시지 전달 서비스에 ‘Location' 요소를 추가한 메시지 전달 서비스로서, 사용자 편의 중심의 메시지 전달 서비스를 가능하게 해준다. 수신자, 위치, 시간에 기반을 둔 메시지 송수신과 사용자 피드백에 의한 위치 목록 구성 등을 특징으로 가지고 있다.

A modified circulating fluidized bed heat exchanger under severe fouling condition is developed. The effects of fouling deposits on the performance of a heat exchanger are investigated. The principle and operating characteristics of a circulating fluidized bed heat exchanger are dicussed. A modified circulating fluidized bed heat exchanger shows more stable operating than the other circulating fluidized bed heat exchanger. The characteristics of self cleaning and heat transfer enhancement of a circulating fluidized bed heat exchanger are studied. The movement of spherical particles in a tube is visualized and heat transfer enhancement and scale reduction mechanism by particles are investigated.

In this study, experimental investigations to find cold energy storage performance have been made for two different temperatures at condenser. Temperatures at inlet and outlet of condenser were measured to calculate global heat transfer coefficient of direct contact method in our cold energy storage system. Also storage performance by direct contact method was compared with that of Ice-On-Coil type ice storage which was calculated by analytic solution. Results show that, in the case of $-8.0^{\circ}C$ at condenser inlet, heat transfer coefficient of direct contact method is 3.25 times higher than that of conventional method and COP of system is improved by using R141b as refrigerant which produces gas hydrate and has higher phase change temperature than $0.0^{\circ}C$.

A theoretical and experimental study has been performed to investigate the characteristics of ice-slurry product. By diffusion-controlled model, the possibility of ice slurry has been theoretically anticipated. The water vapor evaporated from the surface of droplets is extracted continuously from the chamber by a vacuum pump. The droplet diameter was measured by silion immersed method. The ice slurry has been obtained by spraying droplets of ethylene-glycol aqueous solution in the chamber where pressure is maintained under the triple point of water. The droplet of which the diameter is $300{\mu}m$, and the initial temperature is $20^{\circ}C$, was changed into ice particle within the chamber of which the height is 1.33m.

In the present study, the cooling package using the heat pipe has been developed to improve the thermal performance in the point of cooling characteristics of the electronic chip placed to the subrack being readily assembled and disassembled in ATM switching system. As the preliminary experiments, the cooling performances between a conventional way using a cooling fin and a proposed method applying the heat pipe are compared and analyzed. The cooling performance at a simulated electronic component packaging a heat pipe module is approximately achieved up to $5.0W/cm^2$ heat flux and the allowable temperature at the heated chip is sustained in the range within $70^{\circ}C$. From the results, it is confirmed that temperature oscillations are also settled by inserted wick in the evaporator section. From the user's viewpoint, the method to assemble and disassemble the heat pipe easily has been devised.

Row fields in model engine cooling passages are studied numerically by using TURBO-3D program, a finite volume based 3-D turbulent flow program adopting a general body fitted coordinate system. The effects of exit position on mass flow rate at each gasket hole are examined for a model cooling passage in order to understand the flow distribution inside the water jacket. The results of the present study can be applied to the design of high performance, high reliability engine.
