Lawrence was continuouly travelling, and had no permanent home. From 1919 to 1925, he travelled much and followed his own pattern of life, searching for some society with which he could establish personal contact. Aaron's Rod(1922), Kangaroo(1923) and The Plumed Serpent(1925), written during this period, constitute Lawrence's trilogy on the theme of male leadership, an important concern in the 1920's. These novels represent deviation from Lawrence's typical preoccupation with the $quot;bloodrelation$quot; between men and women, which is the source of great power and happiness in human beings. They are concerned with spiritual regeneration and with the possibility of salvation through charismatic leadership. Lawrence would replace the humanism of western civilization with his new faith in these works. He was trying to establish a Utopia through dictatorship of a religious institution. The relation between Lawrence's religious ideas and the whole of his personal, social and political thinking is integral. The revolution to which this leadership trilogy is dedicated is a revolution of man's inner values, out of which will naturally spring a thorough revision of political and social institutions. What he was seeking was not a form of organization, but an entirely new form of consciousness. For a new form of consciousness, man requires a new notion of the self. In these novels Lawrence is mainly concerned with the subject of male supremacy in marriage and the necessity of founding the nucleus of a new society on a union between man and man in order to supplement the male and female relationship. To find a way of establishing harmony between human beings, Lawrence attempts to stress the thesis of submission by the inferior being to the superior being as well as women to men. Lawrence claims that instead of competition and struggle man should seek for the right balance between people, in sex, in politics, in religion. Lawrence began to realize that his quest was not a socio-political one, but a religious one. Seeking a new revelation for the world Lawrence finds it in the religion of the pre-Christian mysteries, in an invocation of the $quot;dark-god$quot; of certain primitive civilization. Just as his dark-god is the god of the sexual mystery, the god in man's own blood, so his social and political criterion is whether or not man is permitted his godhood. According to Lawrence, it is when man fulfills his sexual nature that he attains his highest human destiny and achieves godhood. These novels are all semi-autobiographical, as are his other works.

Clinical outcome of proton therapy for patients with chordomas

Purpose: To investigate the clinical outcome of proton therapy (PT) in patients with chordoma. Materials and Methods: Fifty-eight patients with chordoma treated with PT between June 2007 and December 2015 at the National Cancer Center, Korea, were retrospectively analyzed. The median total dose was 69.6 cobalt gray equivalent (CGE; range, 64.8 to 79.2 CGE). Local progression-free survival (LPFS), distant metastasis-free survival (DMFS), overall survival (OS), and diseasespecific survival (DSS) rates were calculated by the Kaplan–Meier method. Results: With the median follow-up of 42.8 months (range, 4 to 174 months), the 5-year LPFS, DMFS, OS, and DSS rates were 87.9%, 86.7%, 88.3%, and 92.9%, respectively. The tumor location was associated with the patterns of failure: the LPFS rates were lower for cervical tumors (57.1%) than for non-cervical tumors (93.1%) (p = 0.02), and the DMFS rates were lower for sacral tumors (53.5%) than for non-sacral tumors (100%) (p = 0.001). The total dose was associated with both the LPFS rate and DMFS rate. The initial tumor size was associated with the DMFS rate, but was not associated with the LPFS rate. Three patients had grade 3 late toxicity with none ≥grade 4. Conclusion: PT is an effective and safe treatment in patients with chordomas. The tumor location was associated with the patterns of failure: local failure was common in cervical tumors, and distant failure was common in sacral tumors. Further refinement of PT, such as the utilization of intensity modulated PT for cervical tumors, is warranted to improve the outcome.

In modern Chinese, ‘Modality’ represents a subjective attitude to the speaker's proposition. Subjectivization is the most prominent semantic category. ‘Yao, Dei, Yinggai’ known as ‘Auxiliary Verb’ or ‘Modal Verb’ in the grammar books only are classified ‘Modal Verb’ on this research. ‘Modality’ is considered the semantics and the pragmatics features. Modal verb ‘Yao’ is the main meaning of ‘Dynamic Modality’ and is used as a volitive verb that reveals the will of the speaker. Modal verb ‘Dei’ is the main meaning of ‘Deontic modality’ and is used as “A verb that imposes a strong obligation to do”. Modal verb ‘Yinggai’ is the main meaning of ‘Deontic modality’ and is used as “A verb that imposes a duty to do in a moral sense”. The analysis results of ‘ChaGuan’ and ‘WoAiWoJia’ show that Modal verb ‘Yao,Dei, Yinggai’ have the main meaning of ‘modality’. The deontic modality ‘Yao’ is a demand made by the general needs of the speaker. From the Pragmatics point of view, the spoken word with ‘Dei’ gives the listener an objective obligation resulting from the external environment. The speaker from the Pragmatics point of view mainly uses ‘Yao’ as ‘Dynamic modality’ to express the speaker's will.

삼국시대와 통일신라시대의 수막새 연화문양을 활용한 공예문화상품 개발 -3D CAD 장신구 제작을 중심으로-

As global interest in K-culture has increased, the development of craft culture products that can express Korean traditional culture and identity has become very important. The purpose of this study is to present a modern application plan of traditional patterns by designing ornaments using lotus flower patterns of Sumaksae from the Three Kingdoms period (Goguryeo, Baekje, Silla) and the unified Silla period that can effectively express the Korean image, and at the same time, to expand the area of jewelery in the craft culture products. To this end, the emphasis was placed on reinterpreting the lotus flower pattern of Sumaksae and designing them with ornaments tailored to the modern trend. The research method was to analyze the lotus flower patterns of Sumaksae in a formative way, The lotus flower pattern was designed in various ways in 2D patterns, and the accessories were modeled in 3D using the Rhino 3D CAD program. Jewelry designed with 3D CAD is difficult to manufacture by hand because of its small size and delicate shape, and a prototype was produced using a DLP 3D printer. The model made of Jewelry Casting Resin went through the casting process and finally finished with jewelry. This digital production method can be applied directly to a modern production system because it renders a product in three dimensions and makes it easy to visually and accurately check, modify, and supplement. This is meaningful as an attempt to prove that cultural products with differentiated designs that contain the culture and identity of Korea from the industrial perspective can be mass-produced faster and in a variety of ways. Through such research, we can design and develop the lotus flower patterns of Korean traditional Sumaksae as a modern product and use it for jewelry, thereby promoting the identity and beauty of Korea and popularizing K-crafts. We expect products to enter the global market and be reborn. K-culture에 대한 세계적인 관심이 증가하면서 한국의 전통문화와 정체성을 표현할 수 있는 공예문화상품의 개발이 매우 중요해 졌다. 본 연구의 목적은 한국적 이미지를 효과적으로 나타낼 수 있는 삼국시대(고구려, 백제, 신라)와 통일신라시대의 수막새 연화문양을 활용한 장신구를 디자인해 봄으로써 전통문양의 현대적 활용방안을 제시하고 동시에 공예문화상품의 장신구 영역을 확대하는 것이다. 이를 위해 수막새의 연화문양을 재해석하여 현대적 경향에 맞춘 장신구로 디자인하는데 중점을 두었다. 연구방법은 수막새의 연화문양을 조형적으로 분석하고 연화문양을 2D 패턴으로 다양하게 디자인하였으며, 라이노 3D CAD프로그램을 이용해서 장신구를 3D로 모델링하였다. 3D CAD로 디자인한 장신구는 크기가 작고 형태가 섬세하기 때문에 수작업으로 제작하기 어려워 DLP 3D프린터기를 사용하여 원형을 제작하였다. Jewelry Casting Resin으로 만들어진 모형은 주조(鑄造)과정을 거친 후 장신구로 최종 완성되었다. 이러한 디지털 생산 방식은 3차원으로 제품을 랜더링하고 시각적으로 정밀하게 확인 및 수정, 보완이 용이하기 때문에 현대적 생산 시스템으로 바로 적용이 가능하다. 이는 산업적인 측면에서 우리민족의 문화와 정체성을 담고 있는 차별화된 디자인의 문화상품이 보다 빠르고 다양하게 양산이 가능함을 증명해 보이는 시도로써 의미가 있다. 이와 같은 연구를 통해 우리의 전통 수막새의 연화문양을 현대적인 상품으로 디자인 및 개발하여 장신구에 활용해 봄으로써 한국의 정체성과 아름다움을 알리고 K-공예품을 대중화시킬 수 있으며 한국만의 경쟁력을 갖춘 다양한 문화상품들이 세계시장으로 진출하고 거듭나기를 기대해 본다.

국내 바리스타 양성 교육프로그램에 관한 탐색적 연구

본 연구의 목적은 커피교육과 관련하여 첫째, 바리스타 및 교육과정 관련 2차 자료를 검색하고 이에 대한 이론적 배경의 틀을 구축한다. 둘째, 우리나라 바리스타 교육과정 현황을 파악하고 이에 대한 분석을 실시한다. 셋째, 커피 교육과정 중에서 공통 교육커리큘럼의 도출과 중요도를 밝혀내고 넷째, 바리스타 교육과정의 발전적인 구축방안에 대한 시사점을 제시하는 것이다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위한 실증 조사를 위해 1차적으로는 관광 관련 연구자들과 교육과정을 운영하는 실무진들을 대상으로 면접과 기초 조사를 실시하여 조사 대상의 선정과 설문 내용의 타당성을 논의한 후, 2년제 및 4년제 교육기관과 학원, 평생교육원을 대상으로 연구를 진행하였다. 본 연구의 결과 바리스타 자격증 취득에 필요한 표준교재의 개발과 커피교육을 담당할 수 있는 전문 인력 양성에 대한 교육프로그램이 전무한 실정이며, 따라서 사회적 요구에 부응하기 위해서 전문직업인으로서의 교육을 받은 후 직무능력을 검정 받을 수 있는 국가자격으로서의 바리스타 자격운영이 절대적으로 필요하다고 사료된다. The aim of this study to analyse current status of training programs of educational institutions of all kinds and offer solutions and suggestions for the betterment of an effective and competitive barista training program. To carry out this study, secondary data with regards to the coffee shop industry, coffee related education and training programs and related articles were searched through to establish a theoretical background of this study. Findings from this study are as follows; First, a standardized barista training program should be in place. The Job description for a barista covers not only coffee related task but extends to the operation of coffee shop and maintain high standard of service. Second, a typical curriculum mainly geared toward achieving a barista license should go through a major revision to prepare prospective baristas to carry out specific tasks and performance required in the real situation. Third, courses considered as core requirements by 14 educational institutions are 12 following courses. Fourth, common courses taught at both educational institutions and life long educations didn't show any significant difference when compared. Fifth, quite a number of private associations issue licenses and it is time that a national license governed by a public body should be considered to straighten out any confusion stirred by so many private barista licenses.
