In order to process more complicated and higher-precision parts, generally, an additional axis for a machine tool is needed which was an approach to minimize the cost of tool modification. A table with a rotary reducer that can rotate through the axis of the gear system was employed to a machine tool to achieve the purpose of adding an extra motion axis. In general, the motion of the rotary reducer is driven by a worm/wheel or helical gear system, which is different from the hypoid helical gear structure that used in this research. Reliability of guarantee of high accurancy throughout the whole life cycle is on of the critical factors to evaluate a rotary reducer in this field. In this paper, in order to evaluate life-time of rotary reducer, a low-cost accelerated life test was developed to satisfy the demands of clients.
A Study on Monitoring Drilling using Torque from Main Spindle Based on PLC in CNC Machine Tools

Drilling processes require a cutting monitoring function that can be analyzed and gives feedback about strange conditions, tool collision and tool wear in real time. In this study, we proposed a drill monitor using the torque from the main spindle in CNC machine tools and a PROFIBUS network as a PLC-based interface. This paper studied drilling torque changes depending on drill size, the repetition cutting of the drilling and the drill"s wear in the same cutting conditions. The material of the drills was high speed steel (HSS) and uncoated. The drills chosen were 2.7 mm, 6.7 mm, and 10.0 mm in diameter. These drills were selected because they had basic holes for their taps.

The cutting processes used for monitoring engineering includes analysis and feedback about strange conditions, tools collision and tools wear in real time, for improving the working ratio of equipment and productivity. In this study, we proposed monitoring using profibus to increase the reliability as the most important factor for cutting monitoring. The profibus can increase the reliability of cutting monitoring for cutting torque of a main spindle motor and a feed motors through PLC-based interface.

Gears, which rotate and transmit power by interlocking two cogwheels, were invented in BC. They have been used in various systems, including industrial machinery, transportation devices, and living facilities, through the industrial revolution. Regardless of how they are used, gears are a major source of noise and vibration. Many effective measures are being taken to reduce the radiation noise generated from gears, most commonly by lubrication. Lubrication in gear units reduces friction on interlocking gear surfaces, dampening radioactive noise. This can be very useful for quiet gear design if these lubricating damping effects can be reflected in the analytical phase for gear design. This study experimentally confirms the properties of lubricated and non-lubricated radioactive noise by designing a decelerator gearbox and analyzing the radioactive noise characteristics by torque, rotation, and the number of gears using computer analysis.
배기가스 세정장치내 유체 유동에 대한 다공성 매질 적용 기반의 전산해석적 연구

Exhaust gases emitted from internal combustion engines contain nitrogen oxides (NOx) and sulfur oxides (SOx), which are major air pollutants causing acid rain, respiratory diseases, and photochemical smog. As a countermeasure, scrubber systems are being studied extensively. In this study, the pressure drop characteristics were analyzed by changing the exhaust gas inflow velocity using a scrubber for a 700 kW engine as a model. In addition, the fluid flow inside the scrubber and the behavioral characteristics of the droplets were studied using CFD, and the design compatibility of the cleaning device was verified. Flow analysis was performed using inertial and viscous resistances by applying porous media to the complex shape of the scrubber. The speed of the exhaust passing through the outlet nozzle from the inlet was determined through the droplet behavior analysis by spraying, and the flow characteristics for the pressure drop were studied. In addition, it was confirmed through computational analysis whether there was a stagnation section in the exhaust gas flow in the scrubber or the sprayed droplets were in good contact with the exhaust gas.

By the reason of increased demand of high productivity and quality, the manufacturer have an effort in many directions of a machine tool industries. Among there, we proposed method of decreasing displacement in MC(machining center). In other words, Quality related with vibration of a tool cutting products. For decreasing it, improved by optimizing a shape of the column-part and acceleration curves of motors In this paper we could find design factors has much influence on decreasing the displacement using the DOE(Design of Experiments) and optimized the level of the factors using ADAMS<SUP>®</SUP> and MINITAB<SUP>®</SUP>. And we suggest optimized a acceleration curve using Matlab<SUP>®</SUP>.
