The ASTP is the standard of the assessment ASRP that is monitoring the performance, reliability and safety characteristics of the ammunition items. The ASTP used in domestic now has applied to US Army's grade system and grading criteria so that it cause some problems. To resolve these problems of ASTP, we surveyed both the quality level of production and the field management of ammunition, which compared with grade system and classification criteria. As a result of study, we changed grade system from four steps to three steps and applied the Korean Military Specifications and the Malfunction Criteria to the classification criteria of grades. We are looking forward to improving the reliability and effectiveness of ASRP assessment by simplifying grade system and generalizing grading criteria of ASTP.
81MM 고폭탄의 ASRP를 위한 포구속도 평가기준 연구

저장탄약신뢰성평가(이하 ASRP)는 군에 저장 중인 탄약의 성능, 안정성, 신뢰성을 평가하는 업무이다. 군에 저장 중인 탄약의 성능과 안정성은 장기간의 저장 중에 서서히 떨어지므로 저장탄약의 평가기준은 제조 당시의 성능과 안정성을 평가하는 국방규격에서의 기준과 비교하여 동등하거나 낮은 수준으로 정한다. 본 논문에서는 81MM 고폭탄의 평가항목인 포구속도와 사거리를 대상으로 시험방법과 평가기준을 연구하였다. 포구속도와 사거리에 대한 국방규격 등 관련 기술자료에 따라 두 시험 간 측정방법과 정확성을 분석하고 포구속도와 사거리 시험데이터간 비교, 분석하였다. 연구결과, ASRP에서 포구속도를 측정하는 것이 시험의 신뢰성과 효율성을 높일 수 있다는 것을 확인하였고, 포구속도 표준편차의 평가기준은 4.78 m/s로 제시하였다. The Ammunition Stockpile Reliability Program (ASRP) is a task to evaluate the performance, stability, and reliability of ammunition stored in the military. The evaluation criteria of stored ammunition are set to be equal to or lower than the acceptance test standard of the national defense standard that evaluates the performance and stability at the time of manufacture because the performance and stability of ammunition stored in the field gradually deteriorate as the storage time increases. This study examined the test method and evaluation criteria for the muzzle velocity and range, which are the evaluation parameters of cartridge 81mm, HE(High Explosive). The test method and accuracy between the muzzle velocity and range were compared according to related technical references, such as the defense standards, and correlation analysis of test data between muzzle velocity and range was performed. Therefore, measuring the muzzle velocity is a test method that efficiently evaluates the reliability of ammunition stockpiles, and the evaluation criteria of standard deviation for a muzzle velocity were presented.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to find out that the statistical method of stockpile reliability of ammunition by items can be applied to the reliability assessment of stockpile ammunition. Methods: We reviewed the statistical method of stockpile reliability of ammunition by items and verified the possibility of its application by case study. Results: We found that the statistical method of stockpile reliability of ammunition by items is very useful and effective to present the reliability of ammunition based on each item and to predict the change of the reliability in the future. The reliability of proximity fuse was about 94.5% and was influenced by manufacture`s year and the difference between lot and lot more than storage period. Conclusion: The statistical method of stockpile reliability of ammunition by items can be applied to the reliability assessment of various stockpile ammunitions such as ammunition for mortar and canon.

The propellant has a short shelf-life because of nitrogen oxides that were released from nitrocellulose decomposition, As-received and surface-modified ACFs were applied to remove the nitrogen oxides with intend to extend the shelf-life of propellant. The specific surface area of modified ACFs was slightly decreased but nitrogen function groups such as pyridine, pyridone and pyrrol were created on the surface of ACFs. As a result the NO removal capacity of the surface-modified ACF by propellant waste increased about twice than that of the as-received ACF. The shelf-life of propellant was extended about 1.25 times by accompanying surface-modified ACF.
ASRP자료를 이용한 155MM 추진장약 KM4A2 저장수명 추정 연구

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to provide a statistical method from the data of ASRP’s results and to apply to the reliability assessment of 155mm propelling charge, KM4A2. Methods: The accumulated data through ASRP for 155mm propelling charge were analyzed using regression analysis and MINITAB reliability analysis. The analysis methods used for this study were applied to statistical data types such as continuous data, binominal data. Results: The results of this study are as follows; The failure of 155mm propelling charge is mainly due to the broken charge bag, the decline of stabilizer content. The shelf-life(B5) regarding broken charge bag is 21.1years. The stabilizer content decrease with 0.0227%/year and safety storage period of propellant is 34.6years. Conclusion: The shelf-life of 155mm propelling charge determined by charge bag is estimated 21.1years.
VRS RTK를 이용한 원거리 표적좌표획득의 정확도 향상에 대한 연구

Accurate target coordinate is very important in military operations especially field artillery's ground-to-ground attack and air-force's air-to-ground attack. DOS(or TAS) is used to acquire target coordinates from long distance. DOS is comprised of LRF and goniometer. LRF measures distance between DOS and target. Goniometer is comprised of azimuth and vertical angular sensors, DMC and internal GPS receiver. DOS must set the position and orientation(finding grid north) before measurement step(target coordinate acquisition). To improve accuracy of target coordinate, VRS RTK and reference point method are proposed in DOS setup step. VRS RTK provides accurate location coordinate with small deviations, providing high accuracy and precision in positioning and orientation. As a result, horizontal coordinate(easting and northing) accuracy is improved from 2.68 mil(C.L. = 0.95) mil to 0.58 mil(C.L. = 0.95).
가속노화시험을 이용한 단기추진제의 저장수명예측에 관한 연구

The danger of self-ignition of single base propellants will increase with time. Therefore, a good prediction of the safe storage time is very important. In order to determine the remaining shelf-life of the propellants, the content of stabilizer is determined. The propellants stored under normal storage conditions about 10 to 18 years were investigated and accelerated aging test was carried out by storing propellant sample at higher temperature. Finally, we analyzed the results by various methods in order to show the best way to predict the realistic shelf-life. The safe storage life of the propellants will be 24 years, at least 15 years. In case of applying Arrhenius`s law, using the reaction rate constant at 28℃ to 30℃ to predict the shelf-life by accelerated aging test is reasonable for a good prediction.
