Background/Aims: The aim of the present study was to determine whether Helicobacter pylori infections are related to the risk of bleeding complications of peptic ulcer disease. Methods: We have examined 267 patients with symptoms and endoscopic stigmata of recent ulcer bleeding. The severity of ulcer bleeding was categorized by Forrest classification and H. pylori infection was evaluated by CLOtest. The H. pylori infection rates of the patients group were cornpared with those having uncomplicated peptic ulcer. Results: The positive rate of H. pylori infection in total patients with bleeding ulcer was 65.2% (174 of 267), which was significantly lower than that of patients with non-bleeding ulcer 72.6% (748 of 1031)(p$lt;0.05, OR;0.708, 95%, CI;0.532-0.943). However, in subgroup analysis, the positive rates of CLOtest in patients with bleeding gastric ulcer (GU) and duodenal ulcer (DU) were 59.0% (98/166) and 76.1% (70/92), respectively. These data are similar to the rates obtained from those with uncomplicated ulcers, 66.1% (302/457) in GU, and 79.3% (367/463) in DU, respectively (p=0.105, p=0.496). In the subgroups of Forrest Ia and Ib, 20 out of 21 patients (95.2%) were infected by H. pylori, and their infection rate was significantly higher than that of total patients (p$lt;0.05). Conclusions: Our results suggested that H. pylori infection was not a risk factor of bleeding complications of peptic ulcer. However, the subgroup of active ulcer bleeding, Forrest Ia and Ib could be associated with H. pylori infection.

Children fall before school age is one of the main causes of damage. This study analyzed the characteristics of children patients admitted to fall-down injuries. It was evaluated according to the age groups and the happen-places. We used Korean National Hospital Discharge In-depth Injury data on the discharged from 2013 to 2017. We examined the frequency and compared the fall-related factors with a chi-square test. Under 8 age, 819 children were admitted to the hospital. The children were classified by age(infant, toddler, and preschooler) and happen-places(residence, public building, school, commercial area, unknown). Infants were frequently injured in the head and face, muscle and tendon in their residential areas in the spring. Toddlers were injured in the head, facial and upper extremity. Preschoolers were injured in the upper extremity. The fracture was the most common type for toddlers and preschoolers. They usually got hurt in summer, but the latter also did in autumn at unknown places. As a result, it can be seen that the place where the damage occurs, the location of the injury, and the severity occur differently depending on the age. Therefore, the damage prevention guidelines should be changed according to the age and place.

The purpose of this study was to develop ICT(Information and Communication Technology) teaching-learning materials for motorcycle safety education. Physical subjects which are relevant with motorcycle dynamics were introduced to increase the safety awareness through integrated learning such as the combination of technology and science. The results of this study were as follows : (1) Utilizing the physics basic theories which are relevant to motorcycle dynamics, the lesson plan of motorcycle ICT teaching-learning materials, which were included to plan and instruction action plan, was developed. (2) Flash animation or movie was developed to apply physics knowledge to technology in driving motorcycle. This is able to improve the attitude of driving motorcycle of students. (3) Through the contents of appendix of motorcycle safety driving section in this web-site developed here, junior and senior high school students would be able to strengthen their cognitive domain of motorcycle by themselves. (4) Using the web-site of this study, both teachers and students would be able to freely interact through an online bulletin board.
