        Dibenzoylmethane ameliorates adiposity-mediated neuroinflammatory response and inflammation-mediated neuronal cell death in mouse microglia and neuronal cells

        Dibenzoylmethane (DBM), a licorice-derived component, has numerous health benefits. The current study aimed to investigate the effect of DBM on adiposity-induced neuroinflammatory/oxidative response and microglial activation-induced neuronal cell damage. For this research, BV2 and HT22 cells were cultured using adipcyte- and microglia-conditioned media, respectively. DBM effectively suppressed lipopolysaccharide-induced productions in inducible nitric oxide synthase and cyclooxygenase2. Interleukin (IL)-6, monocyte chemoattractant protein-1, IL-1β, and tumor necrosis factor-α levels were also downregulated by DBM. In adipocyte-conditioned medium (ACM)-cultured BV2 cells, DBM effectively decreased ACM-induced generation of nitric oxide, reactive oxygen species, and inflammatory cytokines by activating nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2/heme oxygenase-1 signaling and reducing nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells. In BV2-conditioned medium (BVM)-cultured neuron cells, DBM recovered the BVM-induced reduction of neuronal cell viability, thereby regulating B-cell lymphoma 2 (BCL2), BCL2-associated X (BAX), and cleaved caspase-3 protein expression. Taken together, DBM suppressed adiposity-induced inflammation/oxidative responses and inflammation-induced neuronal cell death.

        Nootkatone (NK), a grapefruit-derived aromatic compound, inhibited lipid accumulation by regulating JAK2-STAT signaling and antioxidant response in adipocyte

        Nootkatone (NK) is an aromatic compound derived from grapefruit. This study aimed to investigate the inhibitory effect of NK on lipid accumulation and its underlying mechanism in adipocytes. NK effectively inhibited adipogenic lipid storage by downregulating C/EBPα and PPARγ, while upregulating KLF2, an early inhibitory factor, downregulating C/EBPβ, an early promoting factor. In addition, NK inhibited the JAK2-STAT signaling pathway by decreasing the phosphorylation of STAT3 and STAT5 in the early adipogenic stage. NK significantly reduced ROS generation while elevating antioxidant enzymes such as catalase and glutathione peroxidase. It activated NRF2-HO-1 signaling, responsible for antioxidant response, by increasing protein levels. Furthermore, NK regulated adipokines, increasing adiponectin and visfatin, while downregulating resistin. Collectively, NK inhibited adipogenic lipid accumulation through the suppression of JAK2-STAT signaling and the augmentation of antioxidant response. This study highlights the potential of NK as an edible agent to alleviate obesity and its associated metabolic diseases.

        Schisandra chinensis-derived gomisin C suppreses lipid accumulation by JAK2-STAT signaling in adipocyte

        Gomisin C is a lignan isolated from the fruit of Schisandra chinensis. The current study aimed to investigate the effect of gomisin C on lipid accumulation in adipocytes and its underlying mechanism. Gomisin C effectively inhibited lipid accumulation by downregulating adipogenic factors such as PPARγ and C/EBPα. Gomisin C-mediated suppression of lipid accumulation occurred in the early adipogenic stage; C/EBPβ was downregulated by 55%, while KLF2 was upregulated by 1.5-fold. Gomisin C significantly reduced the production of reactive oxygen species but upregulated antioxidant enzymes, including catalase, SOD1, and Gpx at the mRNA level. Gomisin C regulated NRF2-KEAP1 pathway by increasing NRF2 and decreasing KEAP1, in protein abundance. Furthermore, gomisin C suppressed the JAK2-STAT signaling pathway by decreasing phosphorylation. Taken together, gomisin C reduced early adipogenesis and ROS production by inhibiting the JAK2-STAT signaling pathway but activating the NRF2-KEAP1 signaling pathway.

        2010년-2016년의 중국 신조어 생성 현황 분석

        This paper analyzed how Chinese nelogism were generate from 2010 to 2016. And from 2010 to 2016 of in the nelogism, we extracted a group of nelogism and examined the semantic and morphological aspects of the nelogism. First, the annual production of nelogism, composition of syllables, composition of nelogism, and unusual forms of nelogism were examined, and the analysis was conducted by extracting the same type of nelogism. The analysis materials is 侯敏, 邹煜, 周荐, 杨尔弘 writed 『2010 汉语新词语』, 『2011 汉语新词语』, 『2012 汉语新词语』, 『2013 汉语新词语』, 『2014 汉语新词语』, 『2015 汉语新词语』, 『2016 汉语新词语』. This study can help in the evolution of vocabulary in Chinese, vocabulary education, and research on Chinese society and people's consciousness, and I would like to conduct more specific research on the Chinese neologism group in the future based on the discussion of the main body.

        자유학기제 경험 학생과 미경험 학생의 핵심역량 변화 유형 및 영향 요인 비교

        The purpose of this study is to explore the mid- to long-term effects of the free semester program by comparing the changes in students' core competencies according to their experience from the free semester program and the factors that affect it. For this study, using the 4th year data (the 2nd grade in middle school) and 6th year data (freshmen in high school) of the Korean Education Longitudinal Study (KELS) from 2013, latent transition analysis and logistic regression analysis were conducted on 5,394 students who answered all the core competency questions. The main results of this study are as follows. First, the latent classes of core competencies of students differed by time points depending on whether they experienced the free semester program. Second, the pattern of the transition of students' core competency profiles and the factors affecting the transition of the profile differed depending on whether they experienced the free semester program. The significance of this study is that it explored ways to support students' learning competency by specifically illuminating the longitudinal transition patterns of the core competency profiles according to the free semester program experience and the factors affecting it. 이 연구는 자유학기제 경험 여부에 따른 학생의 핵심역량 변화 양상 및 이에 영향을 미치는 요인을 비교함으로써 자유학기제의 중‧장기적 효과를 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해「한국교육종단연구2013」의 4차년도(중2)와 6차년도(고1) 자료를 활용하여, 총 5,394명의 중등학생들을 대상으로 잠재전이분석과 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자유학기제 경험 여부에 따라 학생들의 핵심역량 유형이 시점별로 달랐다. 자유학기제 경험 학생의 중2와 고1 시기의 핵심역량은 모두 ‘저수준’, ‘중하수준’, ‘중상수준’, ‘고수준’으로 분류되었으나, 자유학기제 미경험 학생은 고1 시기의 핵심역량이 ‘저수준’, ‘중수준’, ‘고수준’으로 분류되었다. 둘째, 자유학기제 경험 여부에 따라 학생들의 핵심역량 프로파일 전이 양상이 달랐다. 특히 핵심역량의 전반적 수준이 상승한 비율은 자유학기제를 경험한 경우(23.7%)가 경험하지 않은 경우(5.4%)보다 높았다. 셋째, 학생의 핵심역량 프로파일의 전이에 영향을 미치는 요인은 자유학기제 경험 여부 및 전이 양상에 따라 달랐다. 이 연구는 자유학기제 경험 여부에 따른 핵심역량 프로파일의 종단적 전이 양상과 이에 대한 영향 요인을 구체적으로 밝힘으로써 학생 학습역량 지원 방안을 모색하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

        토픽 모델링을 활용한「교육평가연구」학술지의 연구 동향 분석

        This study aims to explore research trends in educational measurement and evaluation by applying text-mining and analyzing the abstract of 969 articles published in the Journal of Educational Evaluation from 1993 to 2022, published by the Korean Society for Educational Evaluation. The main findings from keyword frequency analysis and topic modeling analysis based on LDA algorithm are as follows. First, keywords such as ‘student,’ ‘question,’ ‘test,’ ‘model,’ ‘evaluation,’ ‘estimation,’ ‘academic achievement,’ and ‘ability’ were generally mentioned as necessary in abstracts from the journal, and the main keywords changed over time. Second, a total of 12 topics appeared, including ‘the Item Response Theory model’, ‘development and validation of measurement tools’, ‘analysis of the factors influencing academic achievement’, ‘program evaluation and performance assessment’ and so on. Third, the ratio of the 12 topics that represent research trends changed with time. Especially, the topics of ‘analysis of factors influencing academic achievement’, ‘the Item Response Theory model’, and ‘teacher evaluation and student assessment’ had an increasing trend. In contrast, the topics of ‘computer-based evaluation’, ‘college entrance exam’, and ‘program evaluation and performance assessment’ had a decreasing trend. Lastly, the traits of research trends in the South Korean educational measurement and evaluation shown in the Journal of Education Evaluation were analyzed and future development and improvement tasks were discussed.

        제주 및 경북지역에서 cuelure 제형별 호박꽃과실파리(Zeugodacus scutellata)의 유인효과

        호박꽃과실파리(Z. scutellata)는 박과작물에 피해를 주는 중요한 해충이다. 현재 큐루어(Cuelure)는 국내에서 검역 대상 해충으로 규정된 오이과실파리, 타우과실파리, 및 퀸슬랜드과실파리와 더불어 호박꽃과실파리 수컷 성충의 예찰에 다양한 제형으로 활용되고 있다. 본 연구는 액체, 고체, 및 왁스제형의 큐루어에 대한 호박꽃과실파리 수컷 성충의 야외 유인효과를 검증하기 위한 것으로 2021년 4월부터 10월까지 제주 2개지역과 경북 1개 조사에서 2주 간격으로 모니터링하였다. 호박꽃과실파리의 발생밀도가 높은 제주지역에서는 7월부터 8월에 액체와 왁스제형의 큐루어에 호박꽃과실파리가 더 많이 유인되어 통계적인 유의차가 있었으나, 호박꽃과실파리의 발생밀도가 낮은 경북지역에서는 제형별 유인력에 차이가 없었다. 야외조사 결과를 바탕으로 액체와 왁스제형의 큐루어가 호박꽃과실파리 수컷 성충 예찰에 권장되며, 이 두 제형의 큐루어에 유인되는 검역 대상 과실파리류의 국내 예찰에 효과적일 수 있다. The striped fruit fly, Zeugodacus scutellata (Diptera: Tephritidae), is one of important pests in Cucurbitaceae plants. The cuelure is currently using with various forms for surveillance to the Z. scutellata male as well as Z. cucurbitae, Z. tau, and Bactrocera tryoni, which are categorized as prohibited-quarantine fruit flies in Korea. This study was conducted to verify the attraction effect of applying the cuelure in different forms in field conditions. In this study, we used cuelure by 3 different forms as solid, liquid, and wax to striped fruit flies using the Steiner trap. The trap was placed in two Jeju and one Gyeongbuk regions and the number of attracted flies by each cuelure form is monitored by every 2 weeks during 2021. Attraction effect on Z. scutellata was significant difference by different cuelure forms in two Jeju regions. Liquid and wax forms of cuelure showed high attraction number to the Z. scutellata male compared with solid form when flies were occurred with high population from July to August in Jeju. However, there was no significant difference on attraction effect at low population in Juju and Gyeongbuk by different forms. Based on field assay, liquid and wax form of cuelure are recommended for surveillance against Z. scutellata male. Furthermore, these results also strongly suggest that the attractant, liquid and wax forms of cuelure, could be effective for surveillance to quarantine fruit flies such as Z. cucurbitae, Z. tau, and B. tryoni in Korea.

        미용실의 통합 마케팅 커뮤니케이션(IMC)활동이 브랜드 신뢰와 브랜드 가치에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 미용실에 방문하는 소비자를 대상으로 미용실 이벤트, SNS, 광고, 판매촉진과 같은 통합 마케팅 커뮤니케이션(IMC) 활동이 브랜드 신뢰와 브랜드 가치에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아봄으로써 미용산업에서의 활용 방안과 미용실 브랜드 신뢰, 브랜드 가치 향상 및 긍정적인 변화를 끌어내기 위한 기초자료를 제시하는 것에 목적이 있다. 조사 기간은 2023년 6월 1일부터 2023년 6월 20일까지 자기기입식 설문을 시행하여 총 301부를 최종 분석 자료로 활용하였고 수집된 설문 자료는 SPSS 24.0 프로그램을 통해 빈도분석, 요인분석 및 신뢰도 분석, 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 미용실의 통합 마케팅 커뮤니케이션(IMC)은 이벤트, SNS, 광고, 판매촉진 4개의 요인, 브랜드 신뢰에서는 단일 요인, 브랜드 가치는 품질적 가치, 이미지 2개의 요인으로 도출되었으며, 통합 마케팅 커뮤니케이션(IMC)의 하위요인인 SNS, 광고는 브랜드 신뢰에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 통합 마케팅 커뮤니케이션(IMC)의 하위요인인 SNS는 브랜드 가치 하위요인인 품질적 가치, 이미지에 정(+)의 영향을 미치고 이벤트와 광고는 브랜드 가치 하위요인인 이미지에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서 인플루언서와의 협력, 투명한 정보 제공, 브랜드 이야기를 소셜 미디어 플랫폼에 전달 및 활용하여 효과적인 홍보 전략을 구상하고 브랜드 이미지의 질적 향상을 위한 노력이 필요할 것으로 사료된다. 향후 통합 마케팅 커뮤니케이션과 미용실 브랜드의 다양한 변인 간의 차이 검증을 위해 만족도, 충성도 등의 변수를 추가하여 다양한 관점으로 후속 연구를 제시하길 기대한다. The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of integrated marketing communication (IMC) activities such as salon events, SNS, advertisements, and sales promotion on brand trust and brand value among consumers who visit salons, and to provide basic data for utilization in the beauty industry to improve salon brand trust, brand value, and bring about positive changes. The research period was from June 1, 2023 to June 20, 2023, and a total of 301 self-administered questionnaires were used as the final analysis data, and the collected questionnaire data were subjected to frequency analysis, factor analysis and reliability analysis, and multiple regression analysis through SPSS 24.0 program. The results of the study showed that the integrated marketing communication (IMC) of beauty salons consisted of four factors: events, SNS, advertising, and sales promotion; brand trust consisted of a single factor; brand value consisted of quality value and image consisted of two factors; and the subfactors of IMC, SNS and advertising, had a positive effect on brand trust. In addition, SNS, a sub-factor of IMC, was found to have a positive effect on the brand value sub-factor of quality value and image, and events and advertisements were found to have a positive effect on the brand value sub-factor of image. Therefore, it is necessary to devise an effective public relations strategy by cooperating with influencers, providing transparent information, and communicating and utilizing brand stories on social media platforms to improve the quality of brand image. In the future, we hope to present a follow-up study from a different perspective by adding variables such as satisfaction and loyalty to verify the difference between integrated marketing communication and various variables of beauty salon brands.
