        경직형 양하지 뇌성마비아동의 시지각 능력과 일상생활동작과의 관련성 연구

        Objective : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the correlation between visual perception ability and activities of daily living(ADL) in the children with spastic diplegia who were treated at developmental disabilities children salutary institute. Method : The subject were consisted of 8 children with spastic diplegia(mean age, 10). The visual perception ability was measured by the Developmental Test of Visual Perception(DTVP) and by the Functional Independence Measure for Children(WeeFIM) to evaluate activities of daily living. Collected data analysis were completed by using correlation analysis. Results : Visual perception ability of children with spastic diplegia is the highest in Position in Space(PS) score, and is the lowest in Visual-Motor coordination(VM) score. Average visual perception performance of children with spastic diplegia is the highest in SR(Spatial relationship) score, and is the lowest in VM score. In activities of daily living, eating component were significantly correlated with Visual-Motor coordination. Conclusions : Therefore, accurate evaluation of visual perception ability and visual perception training for children with spastic diplegia will be important to improve patient's activities of daily living skill.

        색과 음악 빠르기 자극이 정상 아동의 정적 균형에 미치는 영향

        Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of sensory stimulation for static balance on normal children. Sensory input was consisted of colors, and music tempo stimulation. Methods : Participants were consisted of 20 normal kindergarten children ranging in age from six to seven years. The static balance was tested by a BPM(Balance Performance Monitor). In this study one-way ANOVA was used and the statistical significance level of results was determined at 0.05. Results : 1. According to color stimulation, there was no significant difference in static balance among red, yellow, green(p>0.05). 2. According to music tempo stimulation, there was no significant difference in static balance, among the high music tempo and low music tempo children in a general environment(p>0.05). 3. However, both green color and low music tempo stimulation have a little effect on static balance on normal children. Conclusion : These results indicate the possibility that the application method of green color and low music tempo stimulation may help in the improvement of static balance for the disabled children. This study will be used as the foundational data of therapeutic environment for the disabled children.

        흰쥐 해마의 치상회에서 압박자극 적용이 뇌 신경세포 증식에 미치는 영향

        Objective : Effect of treadmill exercise on hippocampal neural cell proliferation under normal conditions and alcohol intoxication conditions has been recently studied; however, this effect under sensory stimulation application has not clarified yet. In the present study, the effect of compression stimulation application on hippocampal neural cell proliferation in the dentate gyrus in normal and alcohol intoxicated rats was investigated. Methods : Experimental design: comparative investigation on number of 5-Bromo-2'-deoxyuridine(BrdU)B-positive cells in dentate gyrus 5 days after commencement. Setting: animal laboratory. Participants: male Sprague-Dawley rats of 3weeks old in age weighing $80{\pm}10gm$. Intervention: animals were randomly assigned into 4 groups; control-rest group(n=8), control-compression group(n=8), alcohol intoxication-rest group(n=8) and alcohol intoxication-compression group(n=8). Animals of the alcohol intoxicated groups were injected intraperitoneally with alcohol(2g/kg) twice per day for 3 days. All animals were injected BrdU(50mg/kg) intraperitoneally, and rats compression stimulation application groups were compressed using sphygmomanometer cuff times per day, for 5 days following alcohol administration. Measures: mean number of BrdU-positive cells in dentate gyrus was observed via immunohistochemistry. Results : Compression stimulation application significantly increased the number of BrdU-positive cells in the dentate gyrus. Also, treatment with alcohol for 3 days inhibited cell proliferation, and compression stimulation application alleviated alcohol-induced inhibition of new cell formation. Conclusion : These results suggest the possibility that compression stimulation application may help in improvement following alcohol-induced brain damaged.

        동결견 환자에 대한 키네시오 테이프 적용이 관절가동범위 및 통증에 미치는 영향

        This study was performed to assess the efficacy of Kinesiotape for the frozen shoulder patients. The subjects of this study were 17 patients with frozen shoulder who visited the out-patient department of the physical therapy, Pyongchon Sacret Heart Hospital, Hallim University, from July. 3, 2000 through August 12, 2000. To find out the effect of kinesiotape therapy, we sampled 8 patients treated with electrotherapy and therapeutic exercise (control group), and 9 patients treated with electrotherapy and therapeutic exercise with kinesiotape(experimental group). All patients were treated 3 days a week for 5 weeks. The results after 5-week treatment, compared with before treatment, were as follows: 1. The increase in range of motion in the electrotherapy and therapeutic exercise with kinesiotape after 5-week treatment was very significant(p<0.01). 2 The increase in range of motion in the electrotherapy and therapeutic exercise after 5-week treatment was significant (p<0.05). 3. The pain of decrease in the electrotherapy and therapeutic exercise with kinesiotape after 5-week treatment was very significant (p<0.01). 4. The pain of decrease in the electrotherapy and therapeutic exercise with kinesiotape 5-week treatment was significant(p<0.05). 5. The electrotherapy and therapeutic exercise with kinesiotape was more effective in increasing the range of motion on shoulder than the electrotherapy and therapeutic exercise after 5-week treatment(p<0.01). 6. The pain of decrease in between electrotherapy. therapeutic exercise with kinesiotape electrotherapy and therapeutic exercise after 5-week treatment was no significant.

      • 척추전방전위증 환자와 추간판탈출증 환자의 요부근 기능과 굴곡/신전근 비율에 관한 비교연구

        The Purpose of this study was to compare the lumbar strength and lumbar flexor/extensor ratio between spondylolisthesis and herniated disc patients. The patients who had a subacute low back pain have been proved to each disease through MRI and we measured the maximal isometric strength of all patients(28) through MedX lumbar extension machine(Ocala, FL). In all patients, males had higher lumbar extensor strength than that of females. Especially, the spondylolisthesis patients had lower lumbar extensor strength than that of herniated disc patients. The statistical significant(p<.05, p<.01) differences were manifested in $48^{\circ},\;60^{\circ}\;and\;72^{\circ}$ between male groups. Also the statistical significant (p<.05) differences were manifested in $60^{\circ}\;and\;72^{\circ}$between female groups. In the lumbar flexor/ extensor ratio, the males of spondylolisthesis groups represented the functional weakness in the flexed portion of the range of motion, and the females of spondylolisthesis and the all patients of herniated disc represented the functional weakness in the extended portion of the range of motion. In conclusion, we may propose the program such that the spondylolisthesis males must increase the ratio of extended portion exercise, and the spondylolisthesis females and herniated disc patients must increase the ratio of flexed portion exercise.

        슬관절 근육 피로가 한 발 정적기립 균형능력에 미치는 영향

        The purposes of this study were to determine wether knee muscular fatigue affects on one-leg static standing balance. Sixty four healthy subjects were used for this study : 44 men and 20 women, with an average age of 19.52. One leg static standing balance was measured at pre-fatigue and post-fatigue by an instrumented balance assessment system(kinesthetic ability training balance platform) which is commercially available for testing or training balance. Isokinetic exercises were used to evoke muscle fatigue at 180 degree/see by Cybex 1200. One leg static standing balance ability was significantly decreased after knee muscular fatigue. Although these phenomenons were not clearly understood, these results have important implications for rehabilitation in fatigable patients. These results suggest that the excessive fatiguing during rehabilitation in patients with fatigable disease may increase risk of reinjury and falling injury due to balance disturbance. Further studies are required to determine the physiological mechanisms of muscle fatigue that can play in decreasing one-leg static standing balance ability.

      • 슬관절 테이핑이 정상인의 근 피로와 고유수용성 감각에 미치는 효과

        This study purposes at applying knee joint taping to preventing muscle fatigue. Twenty six subjects between the ages of 20s and 30s were randomly sampled among healthy males, with an average age of 26yr(range, 22 to 31yr). None of the subjects had a recent or remote history of significant lower extremity injury, No subjects had a history of central nervous system equilibrium problems. To develop muscle fatigue, Isokinetic exercise, which is a repetition of flexion and extension knee joint to $180^{\circ}$/sec, was performed 50 times per person. During the exercise, change of proprioception were measured by applying taping on both knee joints. Analysis has carried out by means of one-way ANOVA with repeated measures and independent t-test at the significance level of $\alpha$=0.05 to detect statistic significance. The results of this study were as follows: First, it was found that the generation of lower extremity muscle fatigue significant affects on proprioception (p < 0.05). Second, the application of taping to knee joint after the generation of lower extremity muscle fatigue significant affect proprioception (p < 0.05). Third, while continual exercise after the generation of muscle fatigue, taping group was significant differences in proprioceptive loss than non-taping group(p < 0.05).

      • 흰쥐의 후지 석고 고정, 탈신경 및 부유에 의한 근위축의 비교

        The aim of this study was to compare features of muscle atrophy induced by cast fixation. denervation and suspension of rat hindimb. Muscle mass and glycogen of the soleus and plantaris muscles were studied after 3, 7, or 14 days of cast fixation, denervation and suspension. The results as follows: 1. Body weight of rats decreased significantly after 3 days and showed gradually increase after 7 and 14 days of hindlimb cast fixation, denervation and suspension. Particularly hindlimb suspended rats showed a rapid decrease after 3 days in body weight. 2. Relative weight of soleus and plantaris musclcs decreased significantly by hindlimb cast fixation, denervation and suspension, particularly after 7 days. The decrease rate was the lowest in suspended rats. 3. Glycogen content of soleus muscle decreased significantly after 14 days of hindlimb cast fixation, denervation and suspension. Also glycogen content of plantaris muscle decreased significantly after 14 days of hindlimb cast fixation and denervation, but not significantly after hindlimb suspension. These results indicate that suspension of hindlimb muscles causes less atropy than cast fixation or denervation, likely due to maintainment a few activities during hindlimb suspension. We concluded that the decrease in mechanical strains imposed on the muscle during inactivity was the main factor for the development of atrophy. These basic data suggest that some experimental conditions such as electrostimulation or stretching, participate in countermeasure programmes.

      • 흰쥐의 탈신경근 위축에 미치는 운동의 효과

        The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of mild-intensity exercise training on the denervated muscle atrophy in the sciatic nerve injured rat. Thirty-six male Sprague-Dawley rats (250∼300 g) were randomly assigned into three groups; sham-denervated group (n=8), denervated group (n=8), and denervated-exercised group (n=20). Exercise consisted of treadmill running at 20 m/min speed with 0% grade of 30 min/day. the animals were decapitated at the second and sixth weeks postcrush. Soleus and medial gastrocnemius were immediately excised to be weighed. Type I and Ⅱ fibers of the muscles were differentiated by m-ATPase (pH 9.4) stain, and fiber diameters were evaluated. The results were as follows: 1) the weight of the soleus and medial gastrocnemius muscles showed a tendency to increase in both the denervation-exercised groups compared to the denervated groups. 2) In the 2-week denervation-exercised group, type Ⅱfiber diameter of soleus and type Ⅰfiber diameter of medial gastrocnemius were increased significantly compared to the denervated control group. 3) In the 6-week denervated-exercised group, type Ⅰ fiber diameter of soleus and type Ⅱ fiber diameter of medial gastrocnemius were hypertrophied significantly compared to sham-denervated group. The results of this study suggested that treadmill exercise partially prevented denervation atrophy in the soleus and medial gastrocnemius of the rat.
